The Urban Oyster

I had been looking forward to trying this restaurant for several weeks so I was happy to finally have the opportunity. We got lucky and arrived just after 3 when they open so we were able to sit right away at the bar without a reservation. We tried two of each oyster offering they had, all were delicious and the servers were happy to explain to us their recommendations and favorite options. We split a “Kingston Snow Day” cocktail which was also great. The grilled branzino was fantastic, it had a nice char on the skin which brought some true grilled flavor to the mix with delicious sauces. The garlic truffle fries were a nice compliment to the branzino as well. Finally, the pineapple upside down cake for dessert was heavenly!

Enjoyed the excellent food and atmosphere. The service was very good but often the server and the other wait staff would both come at separate times behind each other asking if we wanted plates removed or otherwise. I’m glad they are attentive but it got to be a little annoying. Of course this wasn’t purposeful or done to be harmful. So just took it as it was. Very nice place I look forward to returning.

Quaint little space in hampden yards! Make reservations the seating is limited. Good for a date or a couple friends hanging out, I wouldn’t suggest any large events. Loved the decor and open kitchen and they had a person shucking oysters fresh. Got lucky with the parking, only saw street parking. Server was friendly and food was fresh and good. The kitchen was a little slow with the food coming out and our main entrees. Didn’t take pics of branzino or burger, but the fish was fresh and well seasoned. The oysters are good, and the crab soup was excellent. I enjoyed everything I ordered. I Will definitely come again.

Immediately upon entering, the cleanliness, aesthetics, the attentiveness to detail was top tier. Everything else followed suit. The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! We literally ate everything from appetizers to entrees. The cocktail program is top tier. The service is on 💯. For it to be a new restaurant, you can’t even tell. The staff is VERY well trained and very knowledgeable! I will be a frequent customer. Kudos to this black owned establishment!

Where should I start? The Urban Oysters environment was inviting, relaxed, and absolutely beautiful! Classy but comfortable. From the moment my daughter and I were seated we felt welcomed and excited to be guests for the evening. Everything including our drinks, appetizers, main entrees and desserts were absolutely delicious! So delicious that it was imperative that I meet Chef Jasmine. She was just as beautiful as her restaurant and I was so appreciative that I could thank her for what felt and tasted like a home cooked meal. A meal that truly was good for my soul. Thank you Chef Jasmine for being the wonderful Chef that you are and for having such a wonderful establishment. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Absolutely amazing experience! We have been getting there oysters and tacos from the Farmers Market for the last 2 years and when my Fiancé and I found they had a restaurant opening, we had to make reservations right away! Let’s just say it’s now at the top my list for good food, amazing vibes, beautiful ambience. Very cozy and elegant yet modern! We will definitely be usuals that come to visit. Oxtail Lasagna is a MUST try! My Fiancé got the steak frites and loved as well. Try all of the oysters. Our fav dishes. The volcano and teriyaki are our favs. The dessert was such a special treat. Loved the pineapple cake!! The drinks were also top tier. Thank you thank you thank you!

Never felt more comfortable at a restaurant before, everything about the place is exceptional. Looking forward to a return visit.

WOW. Easily the best new restaurant in Baltimore. Beautiful space, amazing staff and the food was delicious!! Lobster corndog is a must! Their grilled oyster staple never disappoints. We ordered half the menu and loved it all. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest!

I came here tonight with a friend to try their dessert as we’d had dinner elsewhere. I’m greedy so I had their Pineapple Upside cake which was warm and delicious, however, I took home their Smith Island cake which was SUPERB. The hostess “Sherilita” was wonderful telling us about the place and quickly seating us as well as we had a very pleasant server. The ambiance of the restaurant is simple yet classy and inviting as I’m quite certain to return to try their dinner menu.

Oysters were outstandingly fresh. Loved the cream of crab soup, burger and fries were solid. Ambiance is very millennial chic, not my taste, but can’t deny the quality of the oysters and would likely return! Thanks for a delicious meal

Food DELICIOUS!! Drinks DELICIOUS, complimentary of Kimberly!! Walked in late night, treated as if we had a reservation!! Will definitely be returning!! Well worth it! Lastly ambience is EVERYTHING!! Marchaun is absolutely delightful!!! Loved it here!!

So gooddddd!!! please try this place. I went with my mother for an early mothers day, and we had an excellent time. Service was impeccable, the oysters are to die for, and we had great drinks from the bar. Will definitively go again, especially for the cheese cake!

What an experience! So I decided to drop in at UO. So happy that I did. It was a nice vibe on a Wed afternoon. I started my meal with a Drink: Kingston Snow Day and a starter: Deviled Eggs. It was pretty good. The drink had me in a trance l, it was delicious and strong. The deviled eggs were good, not overly seasoned, just fresh ingredients. Of course I couldn’t leave w/o trying the oysters and all I can say is wow!! Delicious, fresh and the side dressings that come with them just enhances the flavor. These aren’t ordinary oysters, they taste exactly how they are described on the list. Add UO to your restaurant roster.

The atmosphere was inviting, and with a reservation we got seated immediately. The food was delicious, my favorite oysters are the Cheese Louise and Bbq cheddar bacon. The oxtail lasagna was amazing and so different from traditional lasagna. And the Red Snapper nuggets were soooooo good! It’s coated in this sweet n sour chili sauce and just melts in ur mouth. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely Stunning Place With Great Service & The Dish Was Tasty & Drinks.

Oyster place punching above its weight. Terrific lobster cavatelli dish and cocktails surpassing the libations served at most cocktail bars. Seriously, they make a martini from scratch and let it get cold and serve it delicious. Why don’t more “elite” cocktail bars take the time to do the same?
