Urzi's Italian Market

This is a must stop for me when I visit the Hill. I wonder how they can make so much authentic Italian products into one neighborhood store. They have wine, candies, Italian specialties ready to cook in both large and personal sizes, fresh meats. It's just a treat to roam the isles.

I’m only a couple of blocks away from Urzi’s and really enjoy this market. I almost never know what I’m going to buy until I get there. Once I’m there I just let the food speak to me. On this occasion I ended up with pizza shells, sauce, pizza cheese (provel but you can’t call it that) and chicken spiedini skewers. I had the spiedini for dinner and used the leftovers to make a spiedini pizza. It was delicious and all made with items I purchased at Urzi’s. I highly recommend giving them a shot and helping to support a small local business.

Wonderful selection of spices and Italian foods. There is a small deli and meat department also. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This is a part of local grocers that is far too rare nowadays. If there's something you can't find I've have no idea what you could be looking for. This is old school American Italian. Bulk spices are great! The sandwiches are great. Nice selection of wines and liquor and beer! I always buy my olives and my Italian cheeses here. I'm in my seventies and I've been coming here for at least 65 years I think if I remember right I remember dad bringing me up here stock up for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It smells right. The Frozen pastas and sausages are all things I remember from my youth. If you think this is a love letter it is! If you miss this place it's your fault! Help keep Mom and Pop going for the next generation.

This is a great little Italian store and deli. The sandwiches were delicious and the staff are friendly. A good place for getting fresh bread or frozen raviolis. Lots to explore.

I LOVE THIS STORE. Everything they sell is wonderful. I especially like the seasoned olive oils and the lemon oil. They are so very nice to me every time I go there. It is a MUST go to!

Excellent, excellent market! Great competitive prices and the bonus is their own brand tastes great. The spices that are made there are out of this world. The Urzi's special Italian Seasoning is phenomenal!

You have never seen more stuff in one small place! You want to buy so much food! Try to pace yourself and just make another visit! Lots of stuff you have never seen before, but now suddenly need. It's a great experience to visit this little store on the Hill.

They house a huge selection of unique Italian goods. The candy, cheese ravioli and Italian sausage I purchased were a huge hit with family and friends. I like that this store is smaller and easier to navigate than the other shops on the Hill, but still has everything you may want. The staff weren't overly friendly, but did welcome me to the store and were polite enough during checkout and fielded my questions. This was an overall good experience. Check this place out!

This place is the bees knees. Great selection, friendly staff, with a real family atmosphere. 10/10 highly reccomend.

I do wish they carried dice. Seems a sad state of affairs where a premier Italian store, this is one, fails to carry such an Italian staple. I'll be recommending this to the owner next time I head back for my restock of Urzi's Italian Seasoning!

This is a fantastic little neighborhood grocery store, loved the selection of wine, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, etc. We stopped by on a whim to do a little shopping and walked outside to realize that the keys were locked in the car. An employee (or maybe the owner) named Joe came to the rescue and could not have been any more helpful. He called a locksmith for us (used a benefit available on his own personal policy) and we were on our way within 25 minutes.
We will be back and left with a great impression of St Louis and The Hill.

A must to stop by and pick up Italian goodies, people are kind and helpful.

Went today to pick up something for dinner. Chose some frozen seafood cannelloni and a jar of pasta sauce and also got a few other items. I forgot the brand of sauce we got but it was something I’ve never seen elsewhere, and it was the best jarred sauce I’ve ever had. Cannelloni was also very good. Staff super friendly. Will definitely be going back! They have lots of delicious looking things here!

My husband and I travel to St. Louis frequently and have been enjoying the Hill experience since 1984. We are avid home cooks and the spices and prices for them are worth the trip. And after you get one bottle of "grandma vanilla " you will never use anything else. Friendly and family are valued here. Thank you for being there. Parking is the only....downside.

If your looking for the best Italian family owned deli, this is the place. Have been going to this deli for 34 years. We even moved out of the area 21 years ago but still go back to this place every time we are in st Louis. Even if we have to go out of our way we do just because they have decent pricing, are family owned and operated and treat you like the most important person in the world. We don't even try to find another place to get any of our Italian foods from, we just get them from Urzi's no matter what else is out there. They have always treated us right and the food is great. They offer the best Italian green olive salad anywhere. Trust me we've been to lots of different states and have tried others, but nothing compares to Urzi's. If you don't see something, just ask and they will help get it for you and not overcharge you for it. We recommend this place for all your Italian needs. They ate the best.

Very friendly and a good selection of food and treats

Stopped by just to take a look and ended up finding a rare Italian moscato that my fiance loved but had never been able to find. It's a great family owned Italian store with some rare selections. The strawberry shaved ice was very fresh tasting and their items are very high quality. Will be coming back again when we need more pasta.

I always find what I'm looking for, or helped to find by the staff. Pretty reasonable prices for Italian food makings. Raised Sicilian, very similar spices and meats are in stock, to follow Grandmomma's recipe. They will do special orders for whatever they don't stock or are temporarily out of. Always a real smile and conversation with whoever is at the register at checkout. I used to live 2 blocks away, have no qualms about driving across town to obtain those savory spices, meats and creations.
