Had an amazing experience working with Mr Cogdell. Even though my case took over 3yrs to go to trial due to Covid. But he was always available to answer questions. I will say when individuals write these reviews it's best to understand parts of it and find your truth. This lawyer is by far one of the worse I've seen in a long time. He's a smooth talker and will make you believe he's going to go above and beyond but that isn't the case. Fist thing is never tell him what you paid for another lawyer because he wont take any less, secondly never take cash, only pay on the janky app he uses for his transaction and please don't believe him when he say's anything about all these white lawyers taking advantage of us blacks, because trust me he will do the same. He did my brother real bad, took his money and because we overpaid in cash he thought it would be good to keep the money until trial. The issues is that's not what we agreed too and he never ever showed up to court. Families out there, listen to the other reviews and trust that this man ain't the right lawyer for us.

He will take your money and that’s the last you will here from him. He won’t even answer emails. Been over a year and a half. Paid him $7,500 for nothing. Going to spend the next three hours filing my complaint to the NC Bar Association. All I want is an account of what he has done so far and no response. Sent many many requests to date. No luck. At this point I hope the Bar has some credibility and at least investigates. We will soon find out.

All that glitters is not gold, dont believe the hype, this attorney was hired along with his partner to defend my godson he was nonchalant through out the whole case. The only thing he appeared to do with zeal was take the 50,000 up front. There was motions he could have filed and he never did, he very seldom visited his client. Allowed the system to keep a 18 year old with mental issues locked up for 23 hours a day for almost three years. Allowed his client to be grossly mistreated, and didnt fight hard to get the mental health treatment my godson desperately needed.I found him to be a lazy unscrupulous, unprincipled attorney.Dont waste your money

Horrible horrible service this man is so unprofessional and is really good at robbing your money quick to ask for money and not take the case after and stills your money this man stole about $3,000.00 I do not recommend and he blocked are number when we kept bugging to get are money back
