You really have a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get down into Babylon. The arch trail is a little tricky to follow, but it's worth the hike. If you drive down to the river, it's a neat area with some old buildings and a fun area to play in the river.

The opening part of the hike over to the primitive campsite is just an easy stroll through brush. After that, it gets a little more interesting while it winds its way through rock formations and outcroppings. The last tenth of a mile or so is straight down a significant sand slope that, unfortunately, you have to climb back up to get out. The arch is hiding at the bottom of one of those, with its side to you so it just looks like a large rock; walk around the side of it.

Very beautiful. The arch itself is not the highlight but still a fun destination. Be ready for sand! And I suggest the evening light just before dusk for the best photo lighting.

I can’t tell you the number of trails available to run/hike in this beautiful place! I’ve spent hours running around exploring and enjoying the beautiful hills! It is easy to get lost in some places, but making your own trail back isn’t all that hard. If you ever want an amazing camping spot give this place a visit!

This was a beautiful and fun hike. It was mostly easy with maybe a few parts that could be considered moderate. However, if you are looking for something more challenging there is the option of climbing over boulders and shimmying up cracks and crevices. The arch is cool but the hike there is the best part. There is a lot of red rock, some white rock and powder fine red sand. The road there was a little rough and sandy so be prepared for that.

It's a very nice hike, with some really fun treasures along the way. I've always thought it would be fun to pack up a lunch and have a family picnic out at the pond. Recommended during summer so the water is a bit warm.

I would rate this trail as moderate. Beautiful area with the red sandstone rocks and formations, colorful vistas and fairly easy trail to follow. There isn't a lot of elevation gain but there are rocks to walk over and around and parts of the trail is sandy. I never made it to the arch...only because I thought I passed it and turned around. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed because of the desert tortoises that inhabit the area. Not a good hike in the summer because of extreme temps and little shade.

Awesome experience!! There are amazing hiking trails and riding trails out here! The mad moose side by sides come with all the waypoints in the machine so it makes it easy to find and see all the amazing views out here!! Definitely will be out here again soon!

Amazing hike. This is a hidden gem. Much like Arches national park. We went on a winter day and it was lovely weather for hiking. The views of the river mixed with the red rock was incredible.

Super great hike! We did this at dusk, which was just beautiful. It's easy enough to be great for the whole family, but challenging enough to feel like you actually burned some calories by the time you get back to the car. The end part has a pretty steep sand hill, so keep that in mind. Very doable, but might be hard for ol' grandpa.

One of my favorite hikes we’ve done in the area. Easy except for the sand hill by the arch and even that wasn’t too bad.

From Leeds exit, getting to the trailhead will require driving on a sandy road, which can be pretty bumpy and uneven on the last part (depending on time of year and preceding weather patterns), high clearance and 4WD make it a better experience!

Several different trails to explore. There are some cairns and signs which help find your way to Babylon Arch. But the trail isn't always obvious.

The red rocks are beautiful. Path is sandy and rocky, some slopes, stepping up/down rocks, and unevenness. Would class trail as moderate. We took our 12-month old in chest-carrier. Returned when she was 18-months and she enjoyed having a little walk about, but mostly carried her in backpack. Saw some children/families on hike. I see some other reviews class it as family-friendly and others not. I guess it depends on how keen/able hikers they are.

Not much shade. Take water/snacks. Trailhead parking. We loved the area, and if you're willing to do the bumpy drive out there, it's worth it in my opinion. We look forward to returning.

This is one of those hikes that I hesitate to review simply because I can be selfish and want it to stay unknown. It's beautiful, simply put. Not super well marked and you'll want something with better suspension than a Corolla to get out there, but that's just how nature do. I hiked it in the early Spring and can imagine it could get pretty miserable in the summer unless it's a cloudy day. Not much shade coverage. During the cooler seasons it's perfect. Stunning views all around.

It was definitely a confusing trail to follow. There are signs but only at certain points, we ended up getting off the trail, there are so many turn offs, and trails that its impossible to know where to go. We will for sure go again and try to follow another trail.

Really lovely hike. The road to the trailhead: terrifying. But the hike was worth it! 😍😍

What a fun trail! We took the loop backwards which was fine, but that made it so we had to climb up the long sandy hill after the arch. People talk about going down that hill to see the little arch and then turning around to go back up it, but you don’t have to do that if you take the loop. Keep going to get to the river. Just follow the AllTrails map. We went with a 6 and 8 year old and it was perfect for them. A little challenging but not too much. We played in the river for about an hour. There is no shade so I can’t imagine doing this midday in the heat of the summer, even with the river half way. We were originally going to do the Red Reef Trail, but it being a Sunday on Memorial Day Weekend it was packed. We’re glad we aborted our plans and a chose this hike instead! We felt like we had the whole place to ourselves.

Took a hike with my Dad. Enjoyable for both of us. There are hundreds of trails, all generally in the right direction. Pick one and stick with it. The final descent/climb to/from the arch is deep sand, so wear boots. Other than that the trail is not difficult.
