WOW, 1st time at the Carolina Coffee Shop, this is the MUST to go place in Chapel Hill! The food was delicious or, as I would say, (DELICIOSO) The atmosphere was super, the price was very reasonable, BUT! The service provided by GRACE and Esteban was FABULOUS! WOW, great suggestions and every minute with a smile on their faces. If you are in Chapel Hill, NC, This is your location for breakfast! Carolina Coffee Shop is a ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ location!

Great place to get some breakfast before class. The CCS Classic Omlete is my favorite, and the portions are generous. Being so close to campus, it’s a wonderful breakfast place. The service might be a bit slow at times but that isn’t a big issue.

By far, the best and legit breakfast we have had, during our 4 days staying in Chapel Hill, NC, USA.

Servers were friendly, food quality were great, hot food, not warm, and taste very good. Sunny side up eggs were nicely cooked, the steaks were perfectly cooked as well. The egg Jennifer was great as well.

Price was very reasonable. Pet-friendly restaurant. Will definitely visit again if we are in town. 5 stars!!!

I’m glad I have this restaurant a try. I will not be the last time!!! The food was exceptionally good. Once ordered the food was delivered fast and the staff was friendly. The fruit was fresh and tart. The prices are very well. Our meal was less than a trip to the “awful waffle” .

I ordered a take out order for someone celebrating a holiday away from home, and they really went the extra mile!! They wrote a special note on the box, and gave them a mini cake to celebrate! I truly love this place, we always get the corned beef hash and their caramel iced coffee and it’s scrumptious. Thank you Carolina Coffee Shop!

This place is very nice! The atmosphere is very good and so are the workers. Two young ladies helped me out today and were very very helpful in finding me something sweet to drink! There is a great selection of food, drinks, and coffees you can try. I came in on a Thursday morning and these ladies made my drink very quickly

I got a strawberry mocha. It is very sweet, but had the tartness of a strawberry as well. Very well made. I’m not sure what it’s like when it’s very busy, but I know for certain that it’s very nice when it isn’t. They also have a good music selection. Very calming and not too distracting for those trying to study.

The service here is always top notch. Atmosphere is cozy. I’m plant based so I get sourdough bread, fruit (best variety of any breakfast place in this area) and hash browns. Coffee is good and they offer non-dairy milk. My husband gets the Belgian waffle which he says is delicious. Outside seating is available if you go at off-peak times (weather permitting because there is no cover). We love having breakfast here but for lunch they do offer an Impossible burger.

Excellent value for great food. Ordered steak and eggs, and I’ve had worse NY Strips at steakhouses.

AMAZING❣ first of all, everyone is super friendly, it does get busy so expect some wait time. We waited about 30 minutes. But they do take your phone number and call when you're table is ready. Menu has something for everyone, if you're into coffee, it's amazing. All of our orders were delivered in a timely manner. Fresh and great portions for what you pay. Overall great location, clean and comfortable.

This is a Chapel Hill institution. Though much has changed by way of expansion and "brightening up" the place, there is still the old cozy vibe that townies and uni families alike have enjoyed since 1922(I think it is).
Our server was a lovely young lady that was able to offer recommendations and substitutions without hesitation and was very attentive, despite it being a very busy day.
The coffee cocktails were amazing, as was the shrimp and grits. Our only slight complaint would be that the garlic parmesan fries were quite greasy and less salty than we would have liked, but that's really a matter of preference. The prices were steeper than I remembered, but I also hadn't been in there since there was a payphone in the foyer, and since there was a separate foyer for a payphone to be in...

Have visited several times over the years and always love to come back. CCS is a Chapel Hill staple and consistently has quality food, coffee, drinks along with attentive staff and a clean atmosphere. They've also managed to keep their prices down even with inflation, especially when compared to the average prices anywhere else on Franklin Street. Great place to meet with friends, study, or take your family when they visit.

I've had a variety of food there over the years (or know someone who has) and can pretty much recommend the whole menu - but my favorites are the breakfast hash, pub fries, and veggie-burger.

There is a parking deck across the street that (last I checked) was free after 6pm and on weekends, as long as there are no games and events going on.

I am a regular at this restaurant and each time it is a positive experience. The food is always great and there is something for everyone on the menu. I have tried and recommend the chicken and waffles and the shrimp and grits. All of the staff are very kind and consistently check in on customers to make sure they are still doing well and have full drinks. My servers have always been happy to quickly bring out things we need like more drinks or sides. I have had Ryan V and Marie G as my servers recently and I have nothing but compliments. The wait times are very reasonable, of course it takes a little bit longer to be seated and get food or drinks when it is really busy but that is understandable. I love the cozy, warm, and friendly atmosphere inside the restaurant, and the outside seating right on Franklin Street is great as well and perfect for if you have pets.

1922 next door (also a part of CCS) also has good vibes and great service and I am looking forward to going there more for coffee as well once it reopens!

Sunday very busy but the line moves quickly. I would suggest one person look for a table while the other person is ordering. It’s first come first serve. The coffee is one of the best coffees I’ve had in a very very long time. The granola bowl was delicious with the pecans.Shout out to Maren who took my order and personally delivered my coffee. Keep doing what you’re doing, you will be very successful in life. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went for Sunday brunch and it was a wonderful experience! All the food was fantastic and service was great. Really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy with hash browns — everything was well cooked and I’ll most definitely be back, thank you for always doing your best CC!

We've used Carolina Coffee Shop to host business dinners twice so far in 2023 and we've really enjoyed our visit each time! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure everything's taken care of, from food to drinks to the event space. The food is always excellent! The space is beautiful and such a wonderful spot to host events — we'll certainly be back!

Food was amazing, staff very friendly. Our coffee drinks weren’t too hot and they went out of their way to make us fresh hot ones without us even asking for it.

It was our first time here and definitely not our last. I definitely recommend this place!!!!

Enjoyed the Chicken and waffles. Made the mistake of ordering an extra waffle thinking i could order as a side. Paid for a Belgian waffle that ended up plain. May have been a miscommunication. Overall I enjoyed my meal and will definitely come back to try other menu options!!

Went in for brunch on a Sunday and it was crowded, but they allowed us to eat at the bar, which provided a unique atmosphere. A TV near the bar was playing the US Open. The food was delicious and the service was attentive.

This is the first restaurant I came to when I moved to Chapel Hill from Boston 12 years ago. The food is always great. The service is friendly.
