With professional guidance from Elizabeth and Brian I have transformed my running form. The whole body approach to healthy form gave me strength to better my running performance. After 3 years I am still challenged with new dynamic exercise routines. With an entire package of wellness experts dealing in Yoga, Chiropractic, Message and more you can always be sure and find assistance for your health concerns.

I have been working out in this studio with the guidance of personal trainer, Andy Greene for years, and have been extremely pleased. He plans a personal workout routine geared toward my ability and fitness goals, changing it up weekly. He challenges me to push myself just the right amount. The atmosphere in the studio is always upbeat, and all the staff members are so friendly and supportive. The experience is really nothing like going to a gym, and keeps me going back week after week. Visiting Balanced Movement Studio, for me, is absolutely the key to regular exercise and continued good health. I highly recommend it, especially if you are someone who has a hard time self-motivating to exercise.

I have been utilizing the services of Balanced Movement Studio for years. I cannot say enough about Elizabeth and Brian. I am primarily a cyclist, road and mountain bike. I have had numerous injuries, particularly in the hip area. Elizabeth is very knowledgeable in structuring exercise programs that target the hip musculature, which has helped me to avoid injury. She is an adept educator, and helps you maintain proper form. There are times when I do push myself too hard, and Brian is there for physical therapy. His knowledge of anatomy and physiology, coupled with his personality, make him an excellent practitioner. He is patient and he listens to your concerns in order to get to the root of your issue. From there, he uniquely helps you to understand the issue and works with you to modify movement patterns to alleviate pain, and correct the problem. No matter your age, your activity level, or what type of injury you may have, BMS is an excellent resource.

After a semi-lifetime of ignoring the various aches and pains related to competitive cycling and sometime tennis hack, I finally went to Balanced Movement to be treated for a nagging knee injury. From there I " graduated " to Elizabeth's strength and conditioning classes to try to de-emphasize the rigors cycling had had on my body and regain some symmetry and balance. After a year of attending these core workouts, the difference was clear. I performed better than ever for an old guy ( even sometimes not so much a tennis hack ) and look forward to continuing to attend these Monday night core workouts to stave off the inevitable for as long as possible. Thanks ET!

I started going to Balanced Movement while I was pregnant in hopes of staying active, fit and to help get back into shape after the pregnancy. 4 years later I'm still going on a weekly basis. I work with Andy who got me to a point where I ran my first race - and I used to hate running, but now I'm a convert. Andy is great at listening and understanding where I want to be physically, figuring out exercises to help me reach my goal and pushing me to obtain it. Love the studio and the folks who work there.

As a semi pro ultra runner I’m always looking for a tune up to make the many miles I run more efficient. Brian helped me rework a movement pattern in my shoulder, and abdominal rotation resulting in a 30 second per mile speed up, while feeling like I’m running with the same easy effort.
I also enjoy Scott’a yoga classes to help me relax and reset my very stiff body.

Brian and Andy helped me overcome a herniated disc that had me in pain 24/7. Within a few visits I was back to working out at full capacity without pain. Brian also helped me improve my run stride and movement of my posterior chain in the process. I'm stronger, faster, and healthier now having worked with them than I was before the injury.

What a welcoming and friendly studio! Personally tailored strength and agility exercises have helped me to focus on and improve injuries and weak. Not to mention they have also added new and challenging activities to my same old strength routines. Under the guidance of Elizabeth and Brian, I've noticed a significant improvement in my stability and running form.

Balanced Movement Studio is a tool box I love to use. From personal training for fitness with Elizabeth, to personal training to overcome injury with Brian, from massage with Suzanna, to yoga classes with Scott, it's a place I keep going back to for exactly what I need, and sometimes for something new! The staff is like family and that really shows in the way they operate. I highly recommend them.

I've seen Balanced personnel for both physical therapy and general core strength and stability work, and my time there has been great. Everyone is fun to work with, and I've returned to my pre-injury state so I can again enjoy riding bikes, running, and more!

My husband and I have been working with Elizabeth to try to get out of our post-pandemic out-of-shape-ness. She's great-listens to what we want/need, cheers for us, and always explains what we should be feeling as we exercise. Great studio.

Valerie Collins, lymphedema therapist at Balanced Physical Therapy in Carrboro, NC is compassionate, kind, and professional. She provides superior therapeutic services. Prior to my breast cancer surgery and during radiation treatments she has remained a vital member of my health care team. Her excellent teaching skills and explanations of home-care exercises have helped me regain strength and confidence. Val Collins cares about me, and all of her patients.

Awesome PT and guidance. Five years ago my left knee was giving out. Constant pain on my long runs. After a visit for observation and diagnosis then a month of hip stability drills and it was gone. Off to Kona this fall for the Ironman World Championship with no pain thanks to him.

Detective work is always fun to see happening in person, especially when the sleuth solves the mystery on us through a series of 'didn't see that question coming' and, alas, root cause is discovered. Gyro (Brian) has been finding the underlying issue of many a nagging-to-serious injuries for both the short-and long-distance running community and continues to astound me every time I walk in, or, in today's case, dial-in through a video call. Medically sound, spiritually grounded, and all around wise. He and his equally amazing wife are gems in the Carrboro and running community. Thank you both for being here. Skrapple.
