We didn't know what to expect but our visit was amazing!!! The rules and the environment really let you know the cats are comfortable and safe. For me, it was a relaxing visit with the cats. Some were playful and some were not. That's okay, the cats had spaces for retreat if they didn't want to play or interact. plenty of toys for the cats to interact with them. The staff provided great information and education about cats. We have one cat at home. When I questioned about a particular behavior of our cat, she offered a information that really seemed to explain our cat's behavior. Next time we are back in Chapel Hill, we will revisit

What a wonderful place to visit! It's extremely easy to book a reservation online for your group. While you're not allowed to pick up the cats there are plenty of toys available to play with them. Their names and pictures are posted on the upper floor and whether or not they are pending adoption. I booked an hour for my group and it was great.

Cat Tales is such a healing experience. Getting to spend time playing with the cats and kittens allows you to tap into that inner child. Also I'm mildly allergic to cats and so can't have one as a pet. Having places like these is amazing.

There is a board with all the cats/kittens pictures, names, ages, and fun bits about their personality/history to give you some insight before you go in too. All in all, this was a 12/10 experience!!

So much fun, we unfortunately did not find our forever kitty when we went, but we had a blast!!!

Update--We went back and found our forever kitty, Prima, about 2 wks after our first visit. Everyone is absolutely wonderful and amazing here!!

I love to stop by this cute cat cafe with so many cute kittens to watch or play with. Plus you get to enjoy all the sunshine that both floors provide and get to admire the stretches and sunbathes that the kitties take while you're there. I highly recommend booking an appointment here. Parking is right around the corner!

We loved our experience! My husband and I both love cats and enjoyed our time visiting with the adoptable cats and kittens. The space was very clean and they have a nice selection of beverages, cat toys, and cat themed items. We will be sure to come back!

Took my family here while they were visiting and they absolutely loved it! Always such a calming and welcoming atmosphere whenever we visit, thank you for all that you do for the community!

It is so much fun to grab a soda l, beer or a glass of wine and hang out with the kitties. We have so much a blast sitting in there in the big window and people watch while playing with the cats. It’s always a fun hour to spend with family or friends. We love this place.

We came here for my 11 year olds birthday and booked out the room. It was reasonably priced for a bday party. The kittens were ADORABLE and the kids had so much fun. The staff was warm and clearly explained the expectations of the space. I loved that they also had cat related coloring books and supplies if anyone needed a break from kitten snuggling. My kiddo is about to turn 12 and asked if they could have their party at Cat Tales again, it’s already booked!! I wish they had a small party room but we had cake and celebrated in the courtyard next door which was empty, had tables, and space for the kids to run around.

I really enjoyed my visit here! It was my first time exploring this cafe. It’svery cozy (not to mention they have a good playlist running in the background), and yet feels spacious. It has two floors where you can play with the cats. I like how they have a table full of coloring utensils and cat themed coloring pages!! They have cat themed books as well. You can tell there was an effort behind the layout of this place. They have plenty of seating areas. Despite other people having a reservation the same time as me, it didn’t feel crowded. The cats are very friendly and one of them in particular loves to cuddle alot. Definitely recommend to visit this cafe! Area is very clean such as their play area and bathroom. You can buy snacks and drinks during your stay. A very cute way to spend your evening and adopt a cat if you’re interested in finding them a home.

So many cute cats! The place is super clean, no odor, many cat toys and souvenirs, the owner is so friendly and helpful, also not to mention so glad meeting and patting the head of princess!! Definitely gonna come back!

My kids and I love spending time here. They usually have 8 or more cats at a time, the place is very clean, and has two levels with plenty of space. If you want to go on a weekend, it’s best to reserve an hour online a few weeks in advance since they limit the amount of guests at a time.

This business is impressive!!! They have around 12 cats at max but sometimes less because they are all up for adoption. When I went, there were ten, and that was plenty! The cats are healthy and very energetic, and playful! All with different personalities. They live in a pristine and clean two-story cat mansion paradise with all a cat could ever need and more. I found myself wishing I could play with them all simultaneously because they all wanted attention! Order the gourmet pecan ice cream cookie sandwich to make your already elevated oxytocin levels shoot through the roof! The staff was such sweet and excellent caretakers. If you’re ever sad or need an uplifting hour go here!
A few things to know:
1. You need a paid reservation because most of the time, they are booked.
2. You cannot eat or drink inside the cat area.
3. Snacks and drinks, so don’t expect a meal here.
4. There is unique good merch, cat toys, treats, stickers, headbands, etc., for cat owners and lovers.
5. You can’t pick up the cats, but they will snuggle you and let you pet them plenty!

Great place to visit if you are looking to adopt a cat or if you just need some time to unwind and relax. They keep it very clean and all of the cats are well cared for. The staff are very nice and will tell you about their cats if you have any questions. You will need to have a reservation as they are always busy.

Amazing, 6/5 stars. All cats were fantastic (duh, they are cats). Staff is very friendly and love to chat about the cats, you can tell they have passion and all the merch is adorable, got some really cute pins.

All of the babies are amazing. If we lived in the area we would 100% have adopted one of them. The employees were also super sweet and the entire atmosphere was super nice. Very clean and you could tell the cats are well cared for and loved until they find their fur-ever homes

So much fun. The kitties were so sweet! Went for my sister’s birthday and it was a relaxing and playful way to spend the afternoon. I especially loved how each cat had a photo with their name and personality traits for visitors and potential adopters to get to know them better.

Really fun place to spend an hour or so. The rates are fairly reasonable ($12/hour per person) and they said they had a dozen cats in the space while I was there. There's a bit of luck involved (or just good planning) when it comes to how many cats are going to be completely zonked out and sleeping.

The cafe is set up into two sections: the exterior cafe (with drinks and merch) and the interior (where the cats are). This interior has a downstairs (a couple chairs), a stairwell (which the cats seem to love) and an upstairs with multiple couches, boxes, cat towers and other cat accoutrements.

You can't pick the cats up (though they can and might climb in your lap if you let them) though you're free to pet them and there are multiple toys around you can use to try and entice them.

Overall I had a lot of fun there; the cats weren't all very excited (most were really sleepy) and one was hidden almost the entire time, but I'd definitely like to go again since it was fun just getting to hang around a bunch of cats and also help out a good cause.

There are multiple drinks available in the cafe, from coffee to wine to beer. Prices weren't bad and my friend seemed to enjoy the coffee.

Staff were very friendly and loved sharing stories about the cats with us; you can tell that they do really care about the cats they have there.
