South Lakes Park

This is a lovely park. It has trails for walking, jogging, biking, etc., a playground, lots of benches, a few grills, bathrooms, and plenty of trash cans throughout. There's a small dock with seating; there's always someone fishing. It's a great place to sit and watch the ducks and herons.

Good place for bike riding on paved concrete, large enough for everyone to have a turn on their favorite playground equipment.

I adore this park; it offers tennis, basketball, and football facilities, along with a playground for children and ample green space for walking, picnicking, and family hangouts in covered areas.

I have been to this place many many times and always enjoy it here. Great if you and your family are trying to do a picnic or a birthday party, lots of spots to choose from. You can also fish from the pond. There is a short trail or a long trail you can choose from. The children’s playground is huge and the kids always have fun there. Also has a basketball court and restrooms! Beautiful little walking trail park in Denton!

Awesome park.

It has an awesome playground for the kids, basketball courts, pavilions, multiple nature trails, and gorgeous views hidden right in plain sight.

A good place to find a nice shady spot for a picnic.

Updated 6/24/2022: the park is still awesome, but it's hot out now! Remember to wear sunscreen and bring some water to keep your trip fun!

The park is also beautiful at night for a stroll.

Lovely to watch the ducks, go for a walk on the nature trail, or enjoy the outdoor sports areas. You can play volleyball, basketball, tennis, and just about anything else in the grassy areas. My daughter and I tried to fly a kite one spring here. We often bring lunch here to enjoy on the weekends.

Note: they recently updated the bathrooms and cleaned them really well. Hopefully it stays clean!

Kids love the playground here and I like that it only has 1 entrance/exit to the play area. Was also very enjoyable just walking to the pond to see the ducks off of the dock.

Great for kids and adults! Lots of activities on the playground. Awesome mini hiking trail! Definitely coming back with the little one 😁😁

This is a great little park. Nice size with plenty of open space, shaded places, trails to walk, a playground. The paved trail is in great shape for roller activities and biking. The bridges are a little bit rough on skates, but not terrible.

This park is amazing. So much to do. The zip lines are awesome, a shady central area for parents to sit. Lots of cool looking equipment for the kids to play on. Also a basketball court. It's sort of fenced so kids can't wander out of the play area. My kids loved it.

This is a sprawling park that features great open spaces. The playground is decently sized with separate playgrounds for big and little kiddos. The small walking trail wraps around a cute lilly pad pond. It is connected to sports fields so there are lots of options for team activities. There were even people flying drones in the fields and people doing yoga under the trees. Great place for anyone to bring their hobby or enjoy the afternoon with their kids.

Grew up at this park, always so much fun! They have trails, a park, fishing, exploring, basketball/tennis courts!

I love the paved way! It has measure markers to indicate every 1/8th of a mile. There's also a nature trail you can follow behind the tennis courts. Perfect for a hiking feel without the drive.

This park is fantastic. Kids love it. There always seems to be some kind of vendor there selling ice cream or coffee, during the weekend. It has a zip line and plenty of places for kids of all ages. Very well designed.

I've never been to a park that had a zip line....seriously a zipline, and I know that sounds insane because who the hell let's small kids play on a zipline. That being said this works really well and the kids seem to respect the space. The rest of the park is a large castle structure with a few different slides. Lots of swings and the best part a fence that keeps the kids in.

Nice running track, restrooms, above average playground equipment for kids, and a pavilion/ Picnic area.

Large well kept, amazing playground. Feels safer than some smaller parks in town. Lots of moms, exercise groups & dogs etc..
