Gibson Street Bar

This is a nice bar and the drinks are great. They go all out with decorations for both Halloween and Christmas and I love the way the bar looks! The drinks are very good as well. My most recent visit was Halloween night. They were packed so I opted not to stay and get a drink, but I will have to make it out again sometime soon.

Such a cool space for a Christmas themed bar. My group went on a Wednesday night, had zero lines, the best drinks & access to all the holiday themed photo spots.

Went to check out the bar for their Halloween theme. I got an espresso martini and my gf a pumpkin spiced espresso martini, they were both good.

They had a handful of Halloween/fall themed cocktails available.

The service was good and bartenders were attentive.

Cocktails were about $15 each.

This place has tasty seasonal cocktails, try the Ladybird. Nonus is the Jewboys Sliders food truck right next to its patio whose sliders and fries absolutely delicious!!! If you like spicy, get the Vatos.

THE holiday bar by far. It was our first time visiting this little dive bar last night and it was decorated so fun. Drinks were tasteful in all their own ways (tried the hohohoes in this house, spiked hot cocoa, & old fashion) and the bartenders were exceptionally friendly. Staff was so friendly and made the atmosphere even better. Perfect place for pictures and has two different outside spots so plenty of room! The burger truck outside - incredible burgers and went perfectly with the drinks.

Gibson is great! They always go all out for a holiday, whether is Halloween or Christmas. I was thoroughly impressed with how many bartenders they had working behind the bar when we went for trivia night. The bar was packed and the line was long but it went quickly thanks to them having 6+ bartenders cranking out cocktails. Drinks were delicious, staff is nice. 10/10

Hip, yet adult, dive with imaginative drink cocktails. I always reach for their seasonal drinks before returning to my comfort cocktail. They go all out with holiday decorations and give you photo ops throughout. They keep it dark and mysterious. The outside patio opens to the second floor above the car park. Will argue the music volume can be reined in a bit, however.

We just had 2 drinks but that was enough for us to tell that this bar is really good, their bartenders are really good at doing their job!

Great atmosphere! Gibson is fun bar with plenty of room. Located on South Lamar, it is close to downtown and near notable restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you live in Austin, or are visiting, this is a great stop.

If you've never been, it's past time you go!!! 9ne of my all te favorite bars. They have the best Halloween and Christmas decor!! The drinks are bomb.. love love love Gibson Street Bar. It's a tradition to go every year for both seasons, take fun pics and have the bestest time

Fun atmosphere but was too packed to even find a place to stand comfortably inside. Thankfully there was room on the patio. Doorman was sweet and personable, made us feel very welcome.
Food truck order was out of both specials posted. Stood in line for food advertised yet out of stock. Had to order something else on the fly, and it wasn't that good.

Came here last October - they had the most fun Halloween themed stuff ever!! If I lived in Austin I would definitely visit them for their seasonal bar vibes and I’ll be back the next time I visit!

By far the best neighborhood bar on South Lamar. They have a great food truck that gets national attention. Right across from Alamo. Decent drink specials. Chill atmosphere. Sometimes it is a little too loud inside for conversation. Still a solid favorite. True local bar. Oh. Parking sucks though. Still cool place.

Service was quick to greet, make drinks, and produce the tab.
Atmosphere is slightly pub-ish and masculine inside. There is a large 2nd floor balcony on the backside, with string lights and picnic table style seating.
Went on a Wednesday, and most tables were full. Walked, so not sure of the parking situation.

Great cocktails. A little pricey but worth it. Awesome Christmas decorations.

Love this place - very nice neighborhood bar. Staff is super friendly, trivia night is great, and selection of drinks is good. FYI smoking outside if that bothers you.

Currently, there is no food trailer, but the service, and staff are always top notch. I shudder to leave such a great review, as I'm afraid of the overcrowding already, but this place definitely deserves a visit, especially for those of you who have friends visiting from out of town.
