Zilker Metropolitan Park Playscape Shelter

A really fun place for kids! They have slides, swings and muscial instruments made ouf of wood. My daughter kept saying "so much fun" during her entire time here!

The slides are connected to each other with multiple bridges and gives kids an opportunity to run around! There is also a big fire engine/truck that kids can sit on and pretend to drive.

Ample parking space near this play area if you are also planning to checkout the Barton springs pool nearby.

This was the first place we visited in Austin and it was worth it! This park has so many different things in the spring and summer they have a little train that goes through the playground is huge with lots of stuff they have an instrument section you can walk along the river which is super beautiful and so many turtles 🐢 🤩

A fun and unique playground for kids all ages! This playground gives off classic park vibes. Bring your kids for just this and you can’t miss. So many things are around here as well. The Barton Springs or Barkin Springs is a few feet away so you can see some amazing dogs. The Barton Springs Pool is next to that so you can go there as well. A great place to shower and lounge on the hill. They have lifeguards and the water isn’t deep in certain parts for kids. The best area for parking, swimming, boating, and all around fun.

Nice variety of play equipment for kids or varying ages. Definitely has taken a beating but kids still had a blast. Nice trail right below that kids enjoyed. Saw a bunch of turtles which was cool.

It is great for all ages and parents alike. Today there were 2 balloon artist making animals for the kids. There is the killer zepher train just around the corner from the park which is an added fun to the park. The area has room for picnicking, swimming, wading, trails, and lots of open spaces for more planned fun!!!! This is one of our favorite destinations for our family!

Loved it here. The playground was big. It has a walkway to the creek and on the other side is the pool. My girls did not want to leave. Definitely will come back when I visit Austin again.

We love this park. The tandem swing is great. I love being able to face my kids and seeing together instead of just pushing them. The musical toys are awesome too. My kids always ask to go to zilker

Native Austinite here and I still love this park. I can't remember the last time I'd been here, since before the COVID 19 quarantine or last summer. Either way way more people are here now. Mostly at the waters free side though...too many folks for me to enjoy with my kids. If honestly would've rather gone to San Marcos if I wanted to be in the water and just chill.

The playscape area though, still a hit. As I sat and watched them play in my mind many memories of myself as a kid enjoying the same old pastime. Todays weather was great for them to enjoy and not be sooooo hot.

Huge playscape with sandpit, swings and slides. Lots of scattered seating areas for parents. Kiddie Train near by and a covered picnic area with lots of tables that can be reserved for parties.

Awesome! Really laid back place for chilling in the water while having a cold beer and blasting some music. The hike and bike trails are swell as well💪🚴✔

Great place to bring kids. I bring my two year old and he has a blast exploring the playground. Plenty odd space to have a picnic.
