Butler Shores at Town Lake

The scene was so beautiful. There were benches to sit on and watch the lake. I saw lots of people kayaking. There were lots of people running with their dogs. It was nice to see families together having walks.

Where do I begin! Finally am feeling better, & when I want to walk to feed
My Mind & Soul...this is always the 1st choice. On what use to be sorta
normal...the invasion of homeless people was not...as it is. 😳
Before anyone says anything I have a friend who is homeless & I take her food, water etc. However the people who are stuck & respect the parks, streets, people & are trying to do better. Have been all put in the same light because: it takes away the beauty of The entire DT area. As hard as It is for anyone living like this...
Forcing Them, & The Disrespectful Way They Have Been Treating Such A Beautiful Surrounding...Is Truly A Sad Thing To Witness. I hope this is a lesson learned for those who are regulating our laws. Looking at my pictures I realize the part of the trail I walked...was as it suppose to be.

Part of my daily ritual. Beautiful, peaceful, friendly place. Zen!

Great place to start walking the trail and take in the city. The area below the Lamar bridge offers insta worthy pics. Casa de Luz and Holla Mode are just up the hill, so we here walk after a great meal with a Thai style ice cream in hand.

Gorgeous trail! We try to get here at least once a month to walk or run.

Nice evening, skyline in the background and music from amazing women singing at Zach on the plaza.

Walked along the very nice crushed stone path. Great views of city and Lady Bird Lake. The path is well used on beautiful sunny days. Parking is at a premium although I found free parking on the road by The Zach on 2 days.

Perfect place to kayak canoe or paddle board.

Great place for an on leash walk around the trails! Just west of an off leash area at Auditorium Shores - bring your pup (and some water) and enjoy the views of the lake and downtown. You may occasionally come across folks who don't have their dog on leash.

Love Butler Shores! My go to place should I need to get out on a sunny day and exercise. Plenty to do and see especially if you have an active life and appreciate being outdoors. Gets pretty busy so if people watching is your thing then you will be just fine.

This park is in the center of town, has handicapped accessibility, has a lovely man-made hill (which the kids love to roll down), has walking trails that go in and out of shade (an absolute necessity in Texas). It also has a sweet little water feature, and at the other end, a labrinth. What more could a person want, especially in a half-mile? Music, maybe? That's available whenever there's a concert.

Great open space for relaxing and going for a walk. The city has a strange fetish for trying to pave over this place and put something unneeded in it's place. Kinky buggers. Luckily they have been thwarted thus far, keep up the good fight! Once green spaces are paved over we can never get them back.

A beautiful wide open park on the south side of town lake, with a large,city/bat viewing Hill, an amazing fountain for anyone to play in and an art themed children's park

I enjoy getting outside and running/walking around town lake or other areas in Austin. Its great that we have a city that has green spaces like this. The only thing to be careful of is that motorized scouters and bikes will sometimes ride the trail. While it is illegal for motorized scouters and bikes to be on the trail and there are signs posted, it seems to be up to the runners and walkers to avoid them. the people who ride them do not understand right of way. Just surprised i've not seen more accidents.

Nice little part of the Zilker chain that has it's own parking lot. Easy to get to baseball dimonds or the hike and bike trail. Lots of shade and the water fountain even has a tap for pets.

Near the pedestrian bridge, Stevie Ray Vaughn statue and the Long Center. The trail here can be taken around the entire lake. Go at night to see a great view of the lights of downtown Austin across the water.

Enjoy the downtown view, watch the sky, sit and do breathing exercises, warm up with a few stretches and you are ready for a long evening walk and thereafter enjoy the rejuvenating experience 😊

This is such a gorgeous spot for hiking, running, biking or people watching. We're so lucky to have these beautifully preserved spaces in Austin!
