Beautiful forest preserve with historic buildings. The hiking trails go through stately trees as well as wide open spaces. A different feel as compared to the other preserves. I especially make time to visit this place.

This place is fantastic if you need to host a large event or gathering. There’s some wide open space for the kids to play around, and the benches are in real good shape. Also the fountain in the middle of the area is just absolutely gorgeous on a sunny summer day!

I like it here. I come here often at least every other day. Usually Sat mornings before 9am. The photo of the lot however was taken on a Sun afternoon. Much busier.

It has a path that goes around about 1.6 miles. Half the path is a straight then it curves before it crosses the road and the path continues. The other half of the path is winding. Both beautiful.

The birds are always singing. Lots of them and a peaceful melody while on the path. Path is clean. Seldom do I see it needs attention. The grass are always kept short. I love walking barefoot there.

This place has a full working restroom. It’s clean as well. It does not smell at all. I’ve not seen any attendant on the weekdays, but this past Sunday there was someone that greeted me there.

Definitely a regular place I go to when I’m switching the days with West Dupage Woods.

***If your receiving a momentary exchange for having a photo shoot you’d need a permit to do.

Nice gravel trail that spreads across a few miles. This path is great for biking and walking. It also connects to the Herrick Lake trail along Butterfield if you're looking for a longer hike. Indoor restroom available and picnic areas.

One of my favorite forest preserves! The trails are gorgeous and you walk through forests, grassy fields, prairies. But there are also old farm buildings that a beautiful. Check out the old horse/hound cemetery!

Very nice, quiet place to go walking or site seeing. They have few a sculptures on the property worth checking out. They also do group hay rides 3 times a day. Not sure about the other times, but we did the 2:30 one. $5 a person ages 5 and up. It will take you through the entire property, and the nice gentleman volunteer that was with us, told us all the history of the place. They have a riding arena you can rent, if you own your own horses. They also have an outdoor, roofed place for a party with an outdoor bar for food, and two grills. It would be very cute for an outdoor wedding.

We visit here numerous times a week. As stated below, it is a great place to go when you have a reactive dog. The grounds are so wide open it makes it easy to divert when you see other dogs and people. So far… fingers crossed… We have not had any issues with ticks in the years that we have been going. Blackwell just across the street is god awful when it comes to ticks. On dogs and people. Even if you stay on the paths. Night and day between the two in that sense. Sometimes they have the buildings open which is nice to look in a little at some old items and descriptions. Really no activities for human children… Which we are fine with… But if you are bringing some just be aware there is nothing in that sense to entertain them.

Really a hidden treasure! I came to check out the horse and hound cemetery but decided to check out the preserve trails too! It was really a great place to walk- next time I'll bring my bike! The 1930's era farm house and buildings are interesting, amd some information is posted on signs which helps draw it all together.

It seems like a nice historic site, I don't know too much about it. It looks like there are days the buildings are open for tours, but again not sure.
It was really nice just to walk around and look at the buildings!

St James farm forest preserve has about 600 acres of land, has more than 300 different plants, a few ponds and a few stables for horses.
That is an amazing spot for hiking, biking, picnicking, fishing and horse riding.

I love this place. This park is spacious and tons of areas to have group meeting. This use to be a working farm and horse race track. As you wonder around the property there are signs explaining. There is a creek that runs on the north side of the property, great way to cool down on hot summer days

St. James Farm has the best picnic shelter in the West Suburb of Chicago area. The newly renovated pavilion is 2nd to none. It has nice walking trails.
