Well.. I went to pick up a plant from off of marketplace.. my hubby drives a semi and passes this place all the time. He said it always smells delicious, and the parking lot is full of cars everytime he goes by...but he cant stop.. so today we did..Y'all make the drive for this place! Nice casual atmosphere.. service was top notch..right on it! Food portions are great..food is delicious. Hubby and I both got the fajitas..his was steak..mine chicken and shrimp with corn tortillas.. excellent flavor! What a pleasure to sit, relax and enjoy some really good Mexican food! Don't worry about the drive.. enjoy the road trip and the food!

This place does not disappoint! Cheerful and helpful wait staff serving up some of the finest Mexican food I’ve had. I had a burrito bowl with steak (pictured) and YUM!

Still the best Mexican restaurant in the area hands down. Chips and salsa are spot on and the tacos are fantastic. Still my go to after hitting all the other Mexican places around crystal lake, McHenry, lake in the hills area.

First time ordering from El Norteno, we ordered take out. Shrimp fajitas and a beef burrito. Our food was hot and delicious and will most definitely be back!!

Great Mexican restaurant. It’s got what you want (and then some) and it comes how you like it.

The flank steak with shrimp entree is perfectly cooked and seasoned, and it came out super fresh off the grill with ample tortillas. Perfect bite: shrimp, a piece of the perfectly cooked tender steak, grilled onion and jalapeño, little sour cream, and green sauce on a piping hot corn tortilla. I had about 20 such big bites today unexpectedly using up all the 6 or so hot corn tortillas that accompany the plate.

Friendly service. Great outdoor seating area. Prices reasonable. Menu is vast (lots of variations of dishes and price differences for different meat/seafood choices, which I understand why they have to do, but it makes the menu difficult to process). I’d recommend getting whatever you normally get at Mexican spots and I bet it’ll be good.

Food is delicious, authentic at a reasonable price. They offer all the main mexican dishes. This was my second time there, and look forward to their outdoor patio in the summer.

Very clean place, fast and friendly service, a great variety of dishes on the menu, delicious food and they serve a generous portion, delicious drinks and quite reasonable prices, we will definitely return soon. Great spot for authentic tacos in the north burbs. They have a spacious outdoor patio. Make sure to get a special house margarita.

I can't even begin. This is the "holy grail" of Mexican food. Everything is outstanding. They are busy for a reason. This place is AMAZING!

So my friends turned me onto this place earlier this summer. It's now my new favorite go to Mexican restaurant. The food is outstanding and absolutely delicious. The coca cola chicken is good and the torpedo tacos are very good. I cannot explain how tasty the food is. Menu has a great selection as well. Restaurant is pretty popular and there are always people there. My only complaint is that the service could be improved just a little bit. Servers need to check on tables a little more often. Service over all is pretty good. The hot sauces are great as well there's Verde a red sauce and a habanero sauce. I would recommend anyone to try this place 5/5! I always take time to support local/small businesses when I enjoy my experience. As a level 7 local guide with countless reviews you should take my word.

The food is the best in the area. The steak burrito is my favorite item. The wait staff could be a little more attentive. The music can be to loud because of tile floor.

Great food! I've ordered many times and it never disappoints! The ranchero sauce is heavenly. The horchata is the best around! This is my favorite Mexican restaurant! Highly recommend!

This place has been consistently good. Great steak and pastor tacos, soups, burritos. We primarily order to go; however, when we do dine in, we order margharitas, yummy!!

I had their steak burrito bowl with extra steak and lettuce, a horchata, and my partner had the ribeye burrito bowl. We were not disappointed. We loved it! Their portion sizes are rather big so we had to get boxes. Definitely coming back again!

I was searching for Pozole near me and came upon this restaurant! Really wonderful staff and food! Incredibly fresh and perfect flavor.

This restaurant has never disappointed me. The food and service are top notch.
