The Candy Man

Fairly large selection of taffy, fudge and other sweet assortments. I do love their Halloween version of peeps. The staff was nice and rang us up quickly.

Such a delightful little candy shop! The fudge is to die for! Everything is really good - the truffles, turtles, and bark is amazing but oh man, don't pass up the fudge. We ended up going back before heading out of town just to stock up!

I bought candy at three other places in the surounding area, and find Candy Man to be the best. Some of the others, I had been to years ago and liked, but they seem to be going more commercial now with less butter, and cream, and more gourmet, but tasteless chocolate, so generally not worth even buying. I actually threw some of the other candy away, as the chocolate was so waxy and tasteless, and centers watery. Candy Man is still good, with chocolate that actually melts in your mouth and has flavor. Their products still have a homemade quality that makes them really good, so better than any of the other store's products in the area . Worth stopping in on your adventures around Kennebunkport. To add, I find the short Asian woman friendly to me and very alert and sharp; I like her!

My daughter brought me back a box of salt water taffy last week. I'm 62 and haven't had it for a good 50 years. I explained to my wife you eat salt water taffy in a group in the dark. A cabin, a tent, a camper, a lake house. Everyone gets a piece and talks about the flavor.
It's too gooey to put back or pass around so you eat it and explain the flavor to the group. At least that's how we did it on Cape Cod 50 years ago .. and that's how my wife & I enjoyed our 1st dip into this box. In the dark den at home in front of the big Ole flat panel TV. Chocolate/Strawberry is my favorite, she's still in pursuit of peanut butter.

I was just there about 30 minutes ago on August 3rd 2021. The Asian woman behind the counter, is the funniest woman I have ever met. She was sarcastic and delightful. Not once in my entire 10 years of coming to the shop have I ever felt unwelcome. The candy is amazing. The fudge 10/10. This womans witty banter 1000/10. Will always come back for both the candy AND the personalities behind the counter.

Old fashioned, no fills candy shop. I went during Christmas prelude. This was probably the busiest time of year. I liked how the candy bins had individually wrapped portions so that people weren’t touching everything in the candy bin. I was surprised to read other reviews talking about an unfriendly Asian woman. I did notice that many of the staff appeared asian- unlike other business in kennebunkport. They were friendly to people in my brief observation.

I have been going here since I was a kid. The workers are extremely nice and they have a nice variety of candy and salt water taffy. The home made treats in the window are delicious!! My favorite is the Pb fudge, dark chocolate Carmel pecan turtles, and English toffee. Every time I’m town I’ll take my siblings!

This review is coming from a kid, so it may be slightly biased.

This candy store is the most friendly, reasonably priced candy store/chocolatier that I’ve been to in a long, long time. Most candy stores that I’ve gone to have ridiculous prices for goods made in the house, but not this one! I was pleasantly surprised by all of the prices, not just the chocolates. I highly recommend the coffee cremes.

Salt-water taffy !!! Separated by flavor , $9.99 a pound . They also have jellybeans , gummies ( bears and worms ) , and brownies . Chocolate covered everything 😋 !!! They also have fudge with nuts and without ! Brownies with nuts and without ! They have pre-packaged salt water taffy at $8.99 a pound ( if you're not too particular about you which flavors do you get ) .

Different kinds of salt water tadfy flavors I've never seen before. Their fudge and creams are one of the best I've tasted. Great place!

I absolutely love this place. Their fudge is fantastic with excellent variety and selection. We stop here every year while we are up on vacation.
