Veronica Valley County Park

Veronica Valley is a weird but pleasant place... it used to be a golf course, but the formerly manicured grounds are returning to a natural state. There are lots of trails to hike on and areas to explore, including a tiny covered bridge, lots of meadows and woods, and a small pond with a pedestrian bridge where kids can fish. During COVID lockdown, we spent a lot of time here so we wouldn't be around people, and we loved how quiet it was. It doesn't get as much attention as some of the other parks around the area, and that's a good thing, if you want some peace and quiet.

They have small charcoal grills if you want to do a little barbecue here. They also have a pretty good playground.

Beautiful. I almost hate to make mention of how lovely this walking path is for fear of it being overrun by fudgies but it's something everyone local should experience. Be sure to check it out. 20 minutes and you can do the whole loop.

Be sure to wear proper walking shoes. I have sprained my ankles here twice due to holes in the ground all over the place. Still very beautiful!!

Great little walk around ponds for kids fishing. I enjoy fly fishing for the hybrid bluegills, all catch and release of course.

Super cute place! We enjoyed fishing, playing at the park and walking the paths back to more fishing spots.

Lovely little trails and ponds, picnic tables, playground, fishing and more, it's truly one of the many gems in Leelanau County🥰💖

This park of always clean. Close to home and a lot of natural trails to explore.
