Really cool museum! The Turnblad Mansion is incredibly beautiful. Fun to visit during the holidays -- they have some very neat themed exhibits. The tile stoves in the mansion are especially cool. There are a number of areas that would be nice to just sit and chat. I hope to come back to the museum and check out some of their classes or other events!

Worth seeing just for the architecture. The contrast of historical and contemporary space is unique for the area.

Went for the disinformation cocktail tour and it was quite fun. The beverages and small plates were very classy and tasty. A good number of people made it despite the blizzard the previous night and maintenance was doing their best to get things cleared in time. the front path was heated cement, so it was nice and clear.

The turnblad mansion was beautiful and accessible. Found their list of other craft classes and cooking classes to do and it seems like a fun selection. We will be back for those and a guided tour.

Such a great place to visit. The mansion is amazing to walk through. There is a cafe that you can grab a bite or drink at. There is also a gift shop. The staff are friendly and the workers in the museum are knowledgeable of the house. There is a parking lot that is free to park at when you are visiting the museum.

Super fun experience! Brought my 4 and 5 year old to the Christmas Experience and they both loved it. The staff is exceptional, there was a little scavenger hunt for the kids and the whole mansion was beautiful! A must visit especially during the Holidays. Likely to make the American Swedish Institute a part of our annual Christmas traditions. 🎄(also the lower kids play area is fantastic! My kids played here for well over an hour)

I visited with my eldest son and my brother, and they still had their Christmas decorations up, and each room of the mansion was beautifully appointed. A lot of Swedish (and other Scandinavian) Christmas decorations were on display, and it was all very wondrous and informative. I had a relaxing time there, and look forward to visiting again when I'm in Minneapolis.

Enjoyed visiting again after a 26 year period away from the Twin Cities. So fabulous to see all the exterior restoration work and new Nelson Center accomplished in recent years.

Quiet and peaceful museum not too far away from the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. The mansion is kept beautifully and would make a great place for events or casual photo shoots/selfies. There are rotating exhibits spotlighting Swedish artists as well. Good way to spend a few hours in a cool and airy space. FIKA Cafe has Swedish foods, including new specials, and you can buy Swedish dry goods and art at the gift shop. Fun to check out if you are in Minneapolis!

An unexpected and pleasant gem in Minneapolis! I don’t know how the mansion is decorated the rest of the year, but they did a great job for the holidays. There are quite a few rooms to explore, so give it a fair amount of time!
We also stopped by the gift shop - which is a bit overpriced- and the café, which was good! The menu is small and simple, but the food is delicious! The service was a bit slow, and the servers seemed confused which table was which, but we all enjoyed the lunch we had and would recommend it to others.

I love this place! We are so fortunate to have this piece of living history to share with future generations. I was astonished by the brilliant Claes Larsson exhibit. It is a must experience!

A superb place to visit for both Swedes & others alike! I'm only 8% Swedish, but was eager to look through all the artifacts. The mansion was decorated for Christmas 🎄 It was magical! The best piece of art, for me, was the stained glass knights. There was an incredible display of Scandinavian holiday table decorations for Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Sami and Hmong. Great gift shop, too!

Go for dinner, Thursday evening... great food and 1/2 price bottles of wine. Museum is free after 3 pm too! But, donate, it's worth it.

We did the tour of the mansion. It is really cool to see all the history and culture. They could definitely use more plaques though. I kept wondering "what was this room originally ". It would have been cool to understand the original purpose and use for the space.

Everyone was so nice and you must have some coffee and a cardamom bun in the Fika.
