No.1 New China

The staff were very kind and patient as I looked at their menu for the first time! It didn't take me too long though as this is a very standard Americanized Chinese place! I got the wonton soup and the sesame chicken combo plate. The wonton soup was really good and came with three large wontons in the small. The egg roll was good! I could tell it was very freshly fried! I really enjoyed the pork fried rice but think I'll try something other than the sesame chicken next time, it was good but not the most complex tasting, but it certainly was good enough to make me want to come back. I ordered in store and the food took under 10 minutes to come out!

Second time ordering from here, was very solid. Prices and portions are great and both times my food has been good. My only comment is that my hot and sour soup was completely different visit to visit. One had bamboo shoots and was decently sour, the other was just mushroom/scallion/chicken/egg and had some spice and little sour. I enjoyed both but the first visit soup definitely was my favorite.

Overall I love having a spot like this in the neighborhood, and all of the staff I’ve interacted with have been super friendly. Definitely give this place a try.

We heard of this place from a mailer menu and we wanted to try some place local. I feel like the prices were good and the food quality was amazing. We ordered egg drop soup, cheese wontons, egg rolls, fried rice, beef and mushroom and shrimp Lo mein. Ordering over the phone was easy and pick up as well. The food was packed well and generously loaded with extra sauces. I particularly like the small cardboard piece they put in the bottom of the bag so that all of our food stayed stable and I never had to worry about anything falling out. We will definitely be here again!

This is my go-to take out place. I usually get fried rice with one of the following: Thai basil beef, chicken with black bean sauce, chow mein, moo goo gai pan, or double cooked pork. All are delicious and full of flavor. When it asks for level of spiciness, I go with medium and its perfect each and every time. The cream cheese wontons are light and crispy. They only have take out and I love grabbing this on a Friday night after a long work week. Friendly staff. I hope you try No 1 New China and like it as much as I do!

The best Chinese food I've had in a long time! The customer service was spot on due to the heavy traffic due to it being Christmas. Kudos to the cashier who was able to handle irate customers calmly and collectively. Will definitely return to try more delicious items on the menu. Thank you to the business for all your hard work and dedication.

Holy cow is the food ever good! I ordered roast pork chow mein, shrimp toast, and the Vietnamese roll (spring, not fried). Fresh and tasty-fast delivery in West Saint Paul, too!

I've been enjoying #1 New China since they first opened. The food is always amazing and the service is always friendly. I absolutely love the chicken with mixed vegetables and the fried rice and lo mein are wonderful. I would highly recommend #1 New China.

This is Americanized Chinese food, but they do have a few authentic dishes and you can ask the staff for some custom things if you are nice about it.

Always good usually I get the #50 Singapore noodles and the #3 hot and sour soup excellent! We usually order and then pickup they are very fast

Today, I treated my mother in law for her pre birthday dinner and she asked for China One ☝🏾 and our order has been delivered with promptness and courtesy and once again our food has made us feel like the owners invited us as guests to a home cooked meal with passion and delicious dedication!!! I have been looking for a good New York - Cantonese - Szechuan style Chinese takeout since FANG Chinese in Lakeville closed this year. Well… I think I found it! The taste is so fresh, and they use all the same tier ingredients as my old favorite place. They definitely have a new regular, me! Highly recommend. Great prices, too!

It's either this Chinese restaurant copied the No.1 China in big lake, MN or Big Lake copied from this restaurant. Careful when calling in an order cause if you live in Minneapolis, you might be ordering from Big Lake which is an hr west of Minneapolis.

They have the best sesame chicken around. saucy not soggy like alot of other places.

This place rips. I enjoyed many of the options but my favorite is the Singapore noodles. Wow, that’s really good.

I LOVE this place! Not only is their food amazing but the prices are SUPER reasonable! Staff are really nice and they never forget your order! Usually have to check to make sure places have gotten your order right before you leave but NEVER have to worry here because they are very thorough. It's the only place I go for Chinese!! Discovered this place about 6 years ago and haven't went anywhere else since.. I Give them an A+ for sure. Only thing I can say is, You WON'T be disappointed!

Been coming here for years. In West Saint Paul it's usually between No.1 New China and Chin Chin for Chinese. They are both pretty good. If you like chicken wings with your fried rice then No.1 New China is the place to go. Both restaurants have great customer service. The thing that I like about No.1 New China is that they are quick without losing quality in their dishes. They changed owners about two years ago, and have been making huge improvements. Would recommend.

Love the food, and the staff is fantastic. Great prices too. They've messed up my order a few times but they always make it right without hassle. Love this place.

To the people who gave bad reviews because their food was wrong, it happens. Its the restaurant's response that's key. This place makes it right.
