Great stay! Historic building that's been renovated into a swanky hotel. The lobby bar attracts a decent crowd on the weekends and Manny's, a top-tier steakhouse, is attached to the hotel and worth a visit if you fancy a classic steakhouse vibe.

Very high end place. Very exquisite hotel. The history of Foshay was a very interesting place to see and read of all the ups and downs of the owner. Truly was a rags to riches back to rags again story. Observation deck has an awesome view of the surrounding buildings and beyond. I love that they displayed everything, and I mean everything. Like the Pardon from the President! Come and enjoy a bit of history and see the view from the 30th floor. Once there on the 30th floor, you walk up 2 things of stairs. I hope you enjoy this gem. It took them 2 years to build. Just think about that a moment. Now a days it takes some people 10 years to fix a pothole! 😳😬 😉

4 Star Hotel with cool room, spacious shower, and bathroom.
*Shower soaps with pump handles weren't full (5 star hotels always fill before guests arrive)
*I needed to ask for a small fridge.
*Wasn't a book in the room defining hotel amenities.
*QR code brought up Mannys Steakhouse menu.
*Mini bar with drink prices but none in the actual mini bar itself. (Nothing really explaining how mini bar worked)
*Nowhere to buy snacks. The closest is a Target 3 blocks away, which opens at 8 am
*This W Hotel is losing a lot of money daily per room.
*Hotel female staff is very friendly and attractive (just being real)
*Really cool W in lobby with pics of local celebs, including my favorite artist Prince
*Location is perfect. Just a few blocks from Target Center or US Bank Stadium
*If management turns up the dial a few degrees, 5-Star potential is within their grasp

Recently had my 3rd stay at the W Minneapolis for a birthday staycation. Everything was fantastic - including the front desk lady that brought up a comp bottle of champagne 1 minute after getting into our room! I’ll definitely be back ❤

The service is excellent at this elegant, historical hotel. The pillows and bed were excellent. It was fantastic that my standard king room had a Nespresso machine. It was all really tidy. Finally, the front desk and bar staff at both restaurants provided outstanding service. Will undoubtedly return. Shopping, numerous nice bars, and restaurants are all within walking distance of the downtown center.

Despite being part of the Marriott Bonvoy program for many years, this was the first time I stayed in a hotel of their W brand, and the experience was great. Service was excellent during my stay both in the front desk and in the Prohibition Bar. The hotel is well-located, close to many eateries and attractions downtown. However, what most impressed me was the Foshay's design. I love hotels that have an extra care with their design elements and, in some of the major chains, it is hard to find something truly distinctive. Given the historical nature of the building, there are strong Art Deco elements everywhere. However, the interior designers were able to add many modern touches that look both glitzy and historic, while delivering a contemporary touch, especially with the use of multi-colored accent walls. Just the right amount of personality -- a little more and it would look pretentious. The rooms are also very well designed. The basic room where I stayed was definitely small (it is an old building, after all) but the use of the right furniture makes it look much more spacious. The restroom is very comfortable, and I loved the large rain shower, with the area covered with the same tiles on the walls and on the floor. Definitely a place I will return to in a future trip to Minneapolis.

Absolutely wonderful hotel. The decor and ambiance are outstanding. The food at the steakhouse is amazing not just because of the taste but the portion sizes as well. Definitely treat yourself to this hotel if you can.

Classy, comfortable place. Rooms are a little small, but well put together and very comfortable. Check out Prohibition on the 27th floor.

Great stay! Nice decor and wonderful service! The room had a very nice bathroom, but the actual room was quite small. I wasn’t expecting how small it was. It had a great lounge, wonderful observatory on top, and a great breakfast restaurant attached to the hotel.

Great place to stay! Love the historical features and lookout

Foshay was an American businessman, who built a fortune buying utilities throughout the Midwest in the early 20th century. Foshay built the Foshay Tower in Minneapolis, Minnesota, which opened in August 1929. In 1932 he was convicted of conducting a “pyramid scheme” with shares of his own stock.

The Foshay Tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 for its significance in architecture and engineering. In 2006-2008, it was renovated and reopened as a 230-room hotel, the W Minneapolis-The Foshay.

Comfortable king bed and room provided a spacious shower, closet with many hangers, as well as a safe. Not that much drawer space for clothes. Such great service by the staff at the desk, as well as rapid room service delivery. Very convenient location in an interesting and historic building. Would recommend parking at a nearby surface lot or ramp instead of the expensive valet.

The W Minneapolis used to be the Foshay Tower. The rooms are very nice. We had a room on the upper floor. All l can say is WOW about the room. Total luxury! The staff went beyond to help us out. The W Minneapolis has an observation floor. Its only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We stayed on a Tuesday. We will be coming back. The W Minneapolis is the BEST hotel we have stayed at ever!

Very cool hotel in an old historic building that was once the tallest in the midwest. I got upgraded to a suite and the room was awesome! Very comfortable bed and very friendly staff. There are 2 bars in the building, one being on tue 27th floor with great cocktails. There are also 2 restaurants and the smell of Mannys steaks fills everywhere. Location is pretty good, lots of walkable places near by. Would definitely stay here again.

Love the towels in the bathroom. If your wondering why they dispensers are empty every couple days it's because I steal them.

This historical and classy hotel has great service. The bed and pillows were great. My standard king room came with a nespresso which was great. Everything was very clean. Lastly the service at both restraunts, the bar and the front were amazing. Will definitely stay again. The location downtown is walking distance to shopping and lots of good bars and food.

Great hotel well appointed rooms with spa like bathrooms and great views. Manny’s is one of the best steakhouses in the city with a lot of old school charm and over the top portions. Highly recommend!
