African Hair Braiding Mawata

I had braids done for some festivals (small box & jumbo box). Lovely work and very pleased with the outcome. I'll definitely be back!!

Phenomenal. Mawata is perfect. I have fine thin edges and my braids are on point. I've been getting braids for years and this by far is the best place in style and quality. Fair prices also. They are also really good with kids. I don't have kids but I saw how they dealt with other customers kids and it was professional, compassionate and firm. These ladies are so good. The other places I've been to are good too and I feel so bad because I'm not going anywhere other than Mawata from now on for braids

Mawata is AMAZING. She’s so flexible and accommodating, super polite and professional. I have never gotten box braids done and needed something to keep my curly hair tame because I’m going to a few festivals in the next month. I was super nervous and ordered my own hair off amazon (didn’t even know what to get) she helped me pick out which hair would be good and she met every single one of my needs of what I wanted done. I did not get something ordinary and she had no problem doing this crazy hair for me. I’ve gotten SO MANY compliments on my hair. I feel so good about it. The hair quality from amazon wasn’t the best as it wouldn’t work with the hot water seal, but she still made them work and my braids are beautiful. I looked all over Minneapolis for a good hair braiding shop and it was like finding a needle in a haystack of bad reviews. I finally came across her shop and am so happy about it. Hairpolice tried to quote me $600. Insane!!! The prices at this shop are much more reasonable and affordable, and the quality of the job done is amazing!! Not too tight on my head. It’s been a day and it already feels better. I’m so happy with the work she did and I absolutely love my hair!! Do not question coming here. You’ll get more than what you pay for!!

I have been going to this shop for the past nine years and Mawata is absolutely amazing she’s not only my friend we became family. I drive 3 1/2 hours for me and my daughter to get our hair done and it is definitely worth it. I read several online reviews and decided to bring my eight-year old daughter to African Hair Braiding Mawata. The entire experience was wondeful! I love my daughter's kinky twists and was impressed by the kindness of all of the staff! It is a relief to have found the combination of excellent service and a welcoming environment!

Mawata is the most amazing person I have ever met I never met a beautician that was able to handle my hair because its sensitive and so you have to be gentle when doing certain styles especially braids..so when she does my hair and it always come out the way where its comfortable for me is amazing...she is always good with the hair styles any style I want I get perfectly. Even when I don't know what I want and I let her freestyle hairstylea that I'm able to get with the money in my pocket I always leave satisfied..

The best! Don’t have to say anything more! Kind hearted and quick too! Got my locs done in less than an hour and will do it again! And she keeps you feed and drinks proved too!

Really love the way my box braids turned out. Had four women on my head at once that took their time so they wouldn’t hurt my head and to get me in and out. Thank y’all so much for doing my hair exactly what I wanted and will be making you guys my regular braiding shop. I highly recommend them. 😃

They did a very good job with braiding my hair. The one thing was wrong, they braided it to long but other than that i couldnt be more pleased. I will return for more braiding.😃😃😃
