Menards

Friendly and knowledgeable service across the board.
Went in looking for light fixtures ideas, and left with new shower head, a start up basil leaf growing kit for my son, and loads of paint swatches (and inspiration) for upcoming projects.

I am proud to say I have visited the Apple Valley Menards throughout the past 30 years, give or take. First store located on Cedar Ave and CR 42, then the store next to Sam's Club on 42, and now the brand new "super store" located just East of the previous smaller store. Each store has become "bigger and better"!

This store features much more "inside" shopping, even for construction lumber and plywood, etc. But the store also features a larger array of "everything" - tools, doors, building materials, plumbing, electrical, shelving, you name it. The store is well-laid out, and easy to navigate. Seasonal items come and go, but you really don't need a 50 ft garden hose and grass seed in January, do you?

The staff here are amazing, and most have extensive knowledge in home building. They are mostly older and "seasoned", except for the check out staff (younger).

Right now, the store moved a lot of stuff out into the enclosed landscaping area, to clear the seasonal stuff out for an extensive supply of Christmas stuff.

Yes, a lot of the merch at Menards are made in China, I get that. But catch them on a sale, with the commensurate 11% off sale (these seem to be never-ending sales), then the deals are real.

This store offers a large number of pickups for rent (short term), and a nice and convenient "loading only" area of the parking lot. The general parking lot is enormous, and well-light. Again, the store in AV is not even a year old, so everything here is still "fresh".

This store always has what I need, everyone already knows that. But it gets better-

My toddler lost a shoe during our recent visit. We scoured the place before deciding to leave, retracing our steps multiple times to no Avail.

I called the next day to check lost and found to learn it hadn’t been turned in. The lady I spoke with offered to take my info, and I assumed that’s the last I’d hear about it. I was bummed because it was her only pair that currently fit, but decided to just let it go.

Fast forward to a few hours later: I received a call back that she went looking for & found the shoe (in a very on-brand place for a toddler to stash it 🙄) and returned my call to let me know it was located! I couldn’t believe it, what a great way to end the week!

It may seem very simple, but it’s moments like this in life that remind us that there’s good people out there who are willing to extend themselves to help someone else.

Thanks to a caring Menards employee, our toddler was spared being temporarily shoeless and a mothers week was made. I’d say that’s worth 5 stars.

Whatever you guys are paying John to work there, needs to be more. Excellent employee, wonderful customer service. Helped me with a fan tonight that I desperately needed. John, if you see this, you the man brotha ✊🏼

This is a brand new Menard but I don't understand why they are so busy oh well nevermind then I was going to return the item I misspurchase but I was going to wait until next time I was having the chance to going to Menard! They are huge ! Service is horrible! (But only friendly guy is outside of the store he was actually kind! ❤)

Educated staff of non teens know where stuff is. I was looking for a siphon hose in Plumbing, and the associate took me over to it, In the automotive department, halfway across the store.

Who doesn't love Menards❤😜We are visiting from California and had to stop for Menards Merch to sport on the west coast. We built a few homes with the use of Menards 😉. Glad the hard work is behind us and we can just shop for fun. Thanks Menards. The Millers from Cannon Falls via California

The fact that not one but two store clerks actually stopped to ask if I need any help was amazing. Usually most Menards you have to track a clerk down and they always act like they don't even work there lol. I was impressed that they were willing to help me find things.

They have a nice selection of home improvement materials, lawn furniture and outdoor decorations, lighting both indoor and outdoor, plants, outdoor tools and lawn equipment, building supplies, pond supplies, plumbing supplies, paint and even a food and dairy section. All at reasonable prices.

Menards has a lot of great selections for whatever you need they even have a massive section of grocery items!

I needed help finding an item and the employee I asked for help was very helpful and showed me exactly where to find it and gave me good advice. Thank you!

Deals on every end cap. Well organized and clean store with plenty of walking and cart space. A solid supply of employees working the registers. The employees I encountered were friendly and helpful, even at the the customer service counter. Vast amount of parking available.

There are only a few places more dangerous to my income, Harbor Freight, Northern Tool and this place. It is like a one stop shop for ALL THE THINGS! Granted I went to the local Menards back when they were at their old location just a few blocks down the road however, this new place is like a small city! Mall walkers could walk all of the isles here and still get almost as much walk time as the MOA. I do normally frequent the electrical department and talk to some of my friends who came over from the old location as I do like to give them a bit of a hard time... All in fun of course =) I have always enjoyed going here as a kid with my father however, now that I have a house of my own I am consistently going here, especially now that their inventory has vastly grown with so much more to look at. Also, cannot forget to go on those 11% rebate days! Girlfriends and Wives, LOOK OUT! This place is like the Target, JCPennys or Macey's for guys, you might just have to send in a search party for us after we disappear at the front door yet even then, the search party could get distracted as well so you could be out of luck =)

This store is just amazing. Huge footprint with almost every need filled. The definition of a one-stop shop. We found our new go-to store. We need more Menards

Great Service, Wonderful staff! Cashiers always extremely helpful and curtious, the Yard staff is always prompt and shows up with a smile and gets me on my way feeling greatful and appeciated, Front End MGMT is always there to lend a helping hand, Building Materials is well rounded and very helpful and knows there product and had the best advice, OPD had my order picked and ready on schedule, they greeted me with a smile and loaded my car with ease. There were helpful employees to help me pick out the exact nuts and bolts I needed to finish my project, and last but not least the GM's have always been top notch, I couldn't ask for a better team at the Apple Valley store. Thanks for everything you do and keep up the excelent work AV MENARDS!

Very knowledgeable and understood what I was talking about connecting landscape edging with a three-quarter inch black tube.
I didn’t want to buy 25 foot. He got me a 5 foot pipe which I couldn’t find. Excellent service.
