Wonderful food, service, and atmosphere! Not from the area but went here on a whim after trekking South Mountain/Hemlock Falls with my sister, and was not disappointed.

Ordered the Nachos with Shredded Chicken and the Enchiladas De Cangrejo, and loved every bite! And they even have the Mexican Coke with cane sugar.

Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area!

I have eaten here a number of times over the years. It has good food at reasonable prices, which is hard to say about many of the restaurants in this area, these days. I had the mixed fajita the last time I was there, which I would order again. The restaurant has a lot of character and is nice and laid back.

After reading countless reviews I felt it's time to give my review. I've been coming here since 2012 so quite a long time for me. The food is delicious, I love the salsa and put it on everything when I get a meal here. The service is always great and I've never had a bad experience. I'm not sure what other people are referring to when they speak negative of the service. I've always had great service year after year. If you like Mexican cuisine this is certainly the place for you.

Let me just say!! This is definitely one of the best Mexican food that I had in awhile. This is located in Maplewood Village and it's way better than the other place. It takes awhile for the food to come since it is extremely fresh, which I love. Just thinking about makes me want another enchiladas, which by the way the Green sauce was so damn good and the tortilla was so good the crabmeat was so tasty. I am definitely going back with my friend. We just love this place. My friend had the 3 steak soft taco, she said they taste like heaven. Lol

I love the whole aesthetic of the whole restaurant I love the chair designs the ceiling lights tables the whole restaurant felt unique. The food was delicious too my only gripe was the other customers who were loud

Great place fir a party

Salena, daughter and staff are great. Food delicious, place clean and colorful and parking lot right down the street. Their version of deep fried ice cream is a nice way to end your meal. Definitely sharable...

This is such a cute place!!! I had best Mexican food in here! Also, she was so nice who was taking care of us😍

I had great shrimp enchiladas in here as well as tacos. Their salsa is really good, everyone gets it at the table with corn chips. My dish had a lot of lime flavor to it, which I had enjoyed a lot. It's a small restaurant but their food is full of flavor and it is very fresh. Go ahead and try it out, you will not be disappointed!

Delicious Vegetarian Chimichanga and Enchiladas....Served hot. Good place near Maplewood station.

I would give this place 6 stars! Food was amazing and inexpensive. We brought our own tequila and they made margaritas that were so good. Place was so cute and I can’t wait to come back. I highly recommend. We stayed until closing and no one rushed us out. My favorite dish was the Spanish sausage quesadilla.

Came here for a late night meal and everything was delicious!

This is my go to Mexican quisine... They're always nice and polite to me, very professional, good portions, and whatever you ask for they give it to you. Their salsa and chips are too die for.

Best fajitas around.
Updated 3/25/18: I upgraded this restaurant to 5 stars. They improved the flavor of all their dishes, including the salsa and guacamole which are excellent. It is very authentic, and rivals Mexican restaurants found in SoCal. They do delivery and take out, which I use often. Also very kid friendly. I recommend.

Ok, we love this restaurant. As soon as we approached the door the most incredible aromas picked us up off our feet and floated us to our seats. Delicious feast followed shortly after we were seated. Great service, affordable. Seriously folks, give this place a try.

Great service, food came out fast. Salsa was perfectly fine with the warm chips. Started with the quesadillas with chicken they were good. Got the Chimichungas with chicken...good portion rice and beans spot on. My wife got the taco salad she liked it was well. Will definitely come back.

Excellent BYOB! The Mexican food here is amazing ! I was looking for a unique and delicious place, we were not disappointed! I had one of the house specials, the crispy whole snapper with garlic sauce, rice and salad! The service was fast, friendly and efficient!

Cactus Charley's is the most authentic Mexican in the area. Fresh ingredients - and it shows. The Guacamole is fantastic... and the chips come out warm with the salsa as an appetizer. I have been about 10 times since this place opened...

One wish is that they would add more cilantro to the salsa - but that is the only criticism i can offer. Go there!

The food wasn't good, had to be sent back, however the waiter guacamole was on point.

If this were Los Angeles, I'd give this restaurant four stars only because of the ubiquitous availability of Mexican food in the area. But here in New Jersey, this is hard to find. Experiment with dishes besides the standards. Taco. Burrito. Enchilada. Don't get me wrong, those are good here, but their tilapia is fantastic.
