Delicioso!!! I always enjoy a meal from here.
Food is consistently fresh and tasty! Yesterday, I ate the portugalo grilled pork sandwich with gravy and a side of oh so yummy, crispy hot fries! I requested sautéed mushrooms and onions. That bottom of the bread roll sopped up that gravy!! Ooooh weee💦 Everything that fell out was finished off with a fork!!!

HOOOOLY CRP.....THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. The good here is fresh, BERY FRESH....has to be THE BEST empanadas EVER....there were so fresh and filled. Had four different empanadas and a steak sandwich. Real REAL steak not some frozen shredded garbage thrown on a flat top. You need to try this place. I am telling you....it's REALLY good.... it's a 10 star for food....no doubt, will be back....

Came here again for two days in a row after having a pleasant experience the first time. The owner is super friendly and makes sure you’re well taken care of. He enjoys what he makes and wants you to try it.

At first the prices may seem high but let me tell you, it’s all worth it. Each meal is probably enough to feed two, I had to force myself not to finish it all since I’d be bloated.

First day, I had the Skirt Steak special... it’s always perfectly cooked and served with delicious chimichirri sauce. The second day, I had the beef ribs, also deliciously cooked. Ate every bit of the meals I ordered and enjoyed it. The sides are also solid, I’ve had the rice, vegetables (highly recommend) and French fries.

Pay them a visit!

Have only good things to say about this restaurant. Great service and the food is delicious. I loved their ribs and chicken combo and the picadinho. The other reviews were right about the combo. The portions are big enough for 2 people. They have so many different flavors for the empanadas can't wait to try them all. I had the banana Nutella and the cheese guava and they were so yummy. There are tables both indoors and outdoors and they also deliver. I'm definitely coming back!

Friendly service, reasonably priced, and good food here. I like how I can order a whole tray for certain entrees. Easy to carryout and feed the whole family. Must try the beef ribs!

This is my favourite restaurant in New Jersey. Their octopus is amazing and the homemade piri piri sauce elevates every single dish.

They have good food, a good menu and good staff. I love the “wood fired” taste in the food. They always have specials and it seems they always have a good variety of empanadas too. They also have good Portuguese custard cups

The ribs are to die for! Best ribs I've had by far in years

I've been coming to this place for about 3-4 months after my realtor recommending it to us. Every time their food is delicious and well cooked, not to mention the portion sizes are plenty enough for the price. Their menu has plenty of options to choose from, including dessert. It's a family-owned and operated business, with the owner being a genuine guy who truly wants to make sure his customers are satisfied and happy. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

My wife and I stopped at the restaurant for the first time today to try it for lunch. We didn’t know what to expect but were very happy with the quality of the food and the service. The price was very reasonable as well. If your in the mood for some Portuguese food give it a try.

SO HAPPY I FOUND THIS PLACE! Food was delicious- paella was a hit at our dinner party! There was so much food we had leftover for lunch the next day. Loved it so much, we're planning on ordering again next month for my grandpa's birthday.

The food here is amazing, and the prices for a tray of chicken are very reasonable. I really want to also point out something I don’t see very often... the customer service is really wonderful, and clearly this business is run by an honest & hardworking family. This is extremely authentic, and perfectly executed, Portuguese BBQ. I am Portuguese, and I've eaten at a lot of bbq places both here in NJ, and in Portugal. This place is right up there with some of the best I've had, and it's so surprising to find a place like this in East Hanover! The owner, Tony, seems like a great guy, and his whole family works there with him. The prices are very reasonable, and there's a lot of great "extra" goodies like the incredible homemade bread on offer. We will be coming here quite regularly.

Really good food, nice portion sizes, excellent staff. Definitely coming back. The calamari and the pickled peppers were a hit. Wish I knew about this spot sooner.

Go-to spot for takeout - large portions for sharing with a group or having leftovers. My personal favorite is the skirt steak.

This is an authentic mom and pop Portuguese/American BBQ restaurant. The food is great, with a menu configured by chef Tony. It's a take out as well as a restaurant, with a few tables and a sit in counter. Best call to reserve a table. Portugalo uses real organic natural charcoal grill. He also sources high quality meats, both pork and beef. The Cod/Bacalao is great, as are the shell fish he uses, all fresh. For a fantastic meal without breaking the bank this place is great. He also does catering for big parties.

Staff was awesome. My kids were impress. mos important food was perfect. Cant wait to try it again.
