The Clif Tavern

Great local haunt! I was visiting friends in New Jersey and to take the edge off I dipped into this gem. The bartender was personable and made me feel right at home. I recommend the Ghost Hawk lager! Yummy

I’ve been around to a couple bars trying to find the right balance of ambience and vibes. And this is literally the spot! Super chill, down to earth, and real laid back type of energy. I love it here! Definitely my favorite spot within the Passaic county region. Shoutout to Jasmine, her service is immaculate and a real cool person overall. 10/10 aura in this spot for sure!

Haven’t been there in a while but soon as I walked in the welcome was 100% Skip vibes! Staff was really nice, especially Hanif, and once I realized I knew who makes the chili I damn near drooled on the bar. ERIC IS THE KING OF CHILI, GET IT PEOPLE!! I’m definitely coming back

Ari was the best bartender, i ordered an espresso martini and he poured it in front of me and wrote my intial with the end of the drink. 10/10!!!!!

Great food, the burgers here are unbelievably good and cooked spot on. The vibe is immaculate here, definitely a great local spot.

Wonderful bartenders, fun atmosphere, nice decor (a bit upscale for a dive, but still fits the category), fantastic prices, and fantastic music playing. If you're a dive bar connoisseur like I am, you will want to come here and you will want to come back again. Great spot, highly recommended! Go and enjoy!

This place has been renovated since my first time here. The improvements really open up the space, service is fast, and food is served hot. Come here for a drink and bite.

As for the jukebox, it was just my luck that I happened to slip a few dollars in it none the wiser that there was someone out there hellbent on playing their own playlist by any means necessary. I was there for three hours and still hadn't heard one of my tracks. It wasn't until I left that I heard one of my songs, and even then it was a song I paid extra for to "skip".

Another thing, read your checks carefully because one of our drinks was doubled from 3 orders to 6. The waiter was amiable and made the adjustment quickly.

This place reminds me of Sharkeys but with a slimmed down menu and similar vibe. The only thing I'd say is different here is the overall feeling that I'm welcomed. Unlike Sharks, the waitresses here are kind and helpful and devoid of a jaded composure that comes with the ravages of age.

Awesome bar with great vibes and food. Bartenders Antonio and Chris were attentive and friendly. Gave us a free shot for our first time visiting. Definitely will come back!

This bar is hands down one of my top 10. The staff is very friendly and their service is one of the best ones I've ever experienced around this area.

I’ve been going to The Clif for years. The new owners did an awesome job with updating the bar. The food is one the best in the area, & the price on drinks are fair (no over charging here.) Oh & you have 2 of the best bartenders, also. Little Jasmin & Pinto are great!

My wife found clif online. Food was outstanding. I've been back 2x already. Go see Chris and eat. You won't be disappointed. Great place. I'll frequent there!

Always good vibes and solid food. This is ann old school dive bar updated and clean! New owners are doing an amazing job carrying on skips legacy while catering to the crowd of today- tough to do! ✌ & ❤

Great place to hang out. The owners, bartenders, security guards are loving, caring and friendly. We love the place . We feel welcome every time we visit. My daughter, hubby and I love the place.

Oh last but not least! The chef is amazing. The food is great. I don't usually eat fries, however, the fries there is so delicious. I buy to bring home for my grandkids. Lol!

Stopped in for some drinks with my brother, it’s a beautifully renovated hunny hole of a “sports bar”. We both had the homemade pirogies and pulled pork chili. They were both absolutely amazing. The pool table is felted and leveled! All around great spot for family or friends! Thanks guys!

Had a great time. Was there celebrating a friend getting a new and improved job. The wings were awesome, chili cheese dog was good too. The owner, John (I think thats his name I'm sorry if I'm wrong) is super cool and even played a game of pool with me (I lost 😭). Really nice energy and vibe from staff. Some customer characters were a little too eccentric and a touch hostile, but that's any bar, so I can't hold that against Clif. Overall, if I was a frequent bar-goer, I'd come by on an earlier weekday, kick it with the owner, the wings, and play pool all day! Keep being dope 😎💪
