Kim's Sushi

My husband and I come to Kim’s Sushi almost once a week and sometimes we found ourselves coming 2 times a week! We, especially I, LOVE Kim’s Sushi. I’ve never taken my business anywhere else and I find it very hard to try other sushi places since Kim’s Sushi makes exactly how I love my sushi! My favorite I use to get all the time was 2 orders of smoked salmon and recently I’ve been branching out and have been loving the volcano rolls. The employees are lovely; they notice every time we come in that we are reoccurring guests, and treat everyone so lovely. The employees are lovely as well as Mr. Kim himself.

Last weekend for Palm Sunday, since we could only eat fish, my husband and I came to Kim’s Sushi— taking advantage of the Fish Only day. Previously, we had been to the gym in which I had my hair tied up but I started developing a horrible headache once we got to Kim’s Sushi. A Headache shortly turned into a migraine and that caused me having to get up and leave immediately— feeling nauseous, wanting to faint, wanting to throw up even— while my husband was trying to check up on me yet trying to pay for our bill, it was hectic! Mr.Kim was there this evening and couldn’t help but notice my hurrying out the door without my husband as frequent customers; because my husband was trying to pay the bill as quickly as he could. Mr. Kim was asking what happened, realized what had happened and was quickly packing our things and said, “go go go!” Without a payment of our dinner once understanding what was going on.

Overall, the customer service here is phenomenal and I will continue to keep coming to Mr. Kim’s restaurants as long as they are around!

We ordered takeout from Kim’s and it was awesome!! The food was beautifully presented and it was delicious. We got their top selling platter and sashimi and sushi platter. Both were amazing!

So so friendly and delicious! I'm not a fan of seafood so I just recently found a love for vegetarian sushi and I loved the options at Kim's! My husband and I actually liked it so much we went back the next day for takeout. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They have such a great variety of sushi rolls and vegetarian options. My husband was obsessed with the spicy tuna roll and spicy crispy crunchy tuna roll. I tried a variety of options including the sweet potato roll, tamago, A.A.C roll, and Kelly C roll. I enjoyed watching the sushi chefs hard at work. I was amazing to see how fast they were. The resturant itself is pretty small and they have outdoor seating too but I would recommend arriving early or making reservations ahead of time because it gets super busy on the weekends. The pick up order process was pretty organized as well. I was very happy with how they packaged and separated everything. I can't wait to come back and try more options!

Best sushi I ever had! It's such a cute little place to eat or get take out. The service is fast and the staff was so friendly! The place is very neat and clean. The food was so fresh and so delicious, it is hard to stop eating! I got two party platters to go for a family gathering and everyone loved them! The amount of rolls and selection was plentiful for the price. My family devoured the food in record time. My kids are picky eaters and even they asked for more which is unusual for them. They also gave us soup and salad with everything we ordered. The platters were so beautifully arranged we had to take a picture before we dismantled it. When I picked up my order, the people were so nice, they even helped me bring everything to the car. The price for everything was fair and the food was delicious. You will love this place! I highly recommend it. This is my new favorite place to go. When you try them, it will be your new favorite place too.

I love this place, I always compare sushi places i go to but none comes close to Kim’s. Thank you for delicious, fresh food & great service always.

Kim’s Sushi is a gem, an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. I’m definitely looking forward to going back already. The winter roll was particularly phenomenal

It’s your local cozy spot for good sushi! The presentation is on spot, and the service plus the cozy atmosphere makes it a great restaurant. Probably almost everyone in the area has tried this place!

The service is excellent, and the quality and variety of their sushi are amazing.

Update 9/15/2023 - I came back here after several years. The great service and excellent quality of the food remain the same. They still give you the miso soup and salad on the house.

This is probably one of the best sushi places I've been at. It's totally worth the 45-minute drive.

They are still doing takeaway only, but there are tables outside where you can have a comfortable time eating if the weather is good. You order through the website whether you are eating there or not. The same wait time but they will give you soup and salad to munch on. The staff were very very nice when you flag them down for a question, but you do have to get their attention because they do seem busy. Everyone is making the best of the situation. The food was yummy -- quality rice and fish.

Was visiting the area and decided on sushi for dinner. The food was absolutely amazing!! They have some really unique rolls which is cool. Plus you get free soup and salad if you order over $10 (which is sooo easy to do!) And afterward they give you complimentary orange slices too. Great staff and they don’t rush you while eating. We were also treated to a special sample of their I believe it was seared salmon which was like nothing I have ever had before but I would drive all the way back from south Jersey just to have again! So happy I found this place…based on the amount of people there by the time we left seems many agree with me.

My girlfriend and I recently moved into West Orange and saw that this place was very close by with amazing reviews. I also saw it mentioned in a top 30 Sushi Restaurants in NJ article so we definitely had to give it a try! I was surprised by the young waiters and waitresses and young crowd, this place is very busy for the right reasons. Their fish is fresh and you can tell they take pride in the freshness and the compositions of the sushi! I personally love chirashi and getting a variety of options and normally there's one in there I don't like. NOT the case here! They take it a step further than just giving you fish in a rice bowl by complimenting the fish with certain herbs or roe. I would 110% recommend this place! I loved it so much we took my girlfriend's family there the same week and next time it will definitely be my family! Will definitely become a regular here! 11/10 would come again!

So when it comes to sushi; I am the pickiest person. When I saw all the positive feedback this restaurant had I just had to try it out for myself. The staff was super friendly. And the sushi was phenomenal. You can tell when a chef and owner puts love and care into their food. :) when the quality is just there. And they give you an extra sushi roll!! 💖 compliments to the chef and owner! And staff.

The place is clean and the food came out quickly! I got the bluefish tuna valentine roll off their special menu and it was amazing! I didn't realize soup and salad come with the roll so that's excellent value all in all. I also got a shrimp on a stick with a tangy sweet dipping sauce which was good but a bit on the pricier side. I would skip for a diff app next time. Will definitely visit again!

This is the second time I’ve had Kim’s (first was dine in) and I’m officially a repeat customer. Their sushi is absolutely UNREAL. So much variety, so fresh and some really inventive and delicious combinations. They also have given us a little extra something each time I’ve gone which I so appreciate and is a huge part of why I’ll keep coming back. They seem to truly care about customer satisfaction. We got a whole roll added in for free this time and I was blown away by the generosity and by how great it was. Kims has gained a new loyal customer for sure and I very highly recommend this place to anyone!

Favorites so far: Manhattan roll, French kiss roll, spicy crispy crunch roll, and loved all the sashimi we’ve had (tuna, yellowtail, salmon)

This is one of my favorite places for sushi!! Specially if you looking to go on a date. Mark your calendar this the place!
