Knives Out! This place has been closed for quite sometime. So when it reopens you want to check it out. What a pleasant surprise! The food, service and atmosphere was on point all night. Each dish was cooked to perfection, coconut shrimp was to die for but the peeking duck took the gold. Prepared table side and fresh as possible. Well done and looking forward to returning next weekend

Mr. Chu is by far the best Chinese cuisine in the north Jersey area. The staff is super accommodating. My family and I have been going there for 15 years, and every meal is good.. While we do take out sometimes, eating there is always best, as vegetable are still crisp and food is hot right from the kitchen to your table.

This under the radar eatery serves some amazing noodle soups. The Shanghai version is loaded with shrimp, pork and chicken. The noodles are some of the best I have had. Highly recommended. And very affordable.

Mr Chu is great. My Chinese family and I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. I highly recommend the noodle soups or anything on a sizzling plate/pot

Awesome lunch special. Had the hunan beef and it was amazing. Despite the atmosphere being a little outdated, I would highly rate and recommend this place. Awesome food

We had Christmas dinner last night and were very happy with the service and authentic Chinese food. It was very crowded but our server was great!!

Food is great and more than makes up for the dirty and worn floors. Could do something about the major sunlight exposure too though that might just be me. Kinda expensive too.

They have a more traditional menu that caters to the chinese audience. Food is consistently good and at very affordable prices. They also have a wide selection of vegetarian options.

I ordered the Beef with hot pepper and sauteed shrimp and wasn't disappointed. I will definitely come back next time I'm around

I like this place... my wife loves it. We eat here everytime we drive past Morristown area. Staff is very nice but this place gets crowded so they are very busy.

The food here is consistently and reliably good. A bit pricey but it's one of the better restaurants in the area. Because it's so popular, dine-in (pre-COVID) and take-out (pre- and during-COVID) can be a long wait in the evenings and on the weekends. I would highly recommend this place, and everything I've ever ordered has been good, like the chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, pork fried rice, General Tso's beef, etc.

Food is very very good. Reasonably priced and we always leave stuffed. It's an institution and has been there for years. Decor could be updated, but you don't go here for the decorating, you go for the delicious authentic Chinese food.
Definitely give it a try.

Our second time here for dinner. We ordered from the special menu, shrimp with egg, chicken basil and salt&pepper pork chop. All were excellent and good service. Will definitely go back.

One of the best Chinese places in the area. Let me clarify some of the concerns other users have pointed out. The service is usually very personal and attentive, at times this place gets absolutely loaded, and you may not get as much attention as you would like. This is on par with 99.9 % of the other Chinese restaurants in the area.

The white/brown rice is not plentiful. If you have more than a bowl, you will pay a small amount for extra rice...literally a couple dollars. I can't explain why, but I can accept this with the quality of the food.

Let's talk about the food... Very wide range of selections from your run of the mill General Tso, Lo Mein and Fried Rice, to more authentic noodle soups, even some very respectable XLB soup dumplings. The food is very fragrant, savory, and complex. If you are a fan of spicy, ask for their hot oil. It is legit!! Adds much more than just pure spice to your broths, noodles, and dumplings.

Try something new, enjoy the savory goodness and taste. I believe that this place has some Shanghainese specialties, and may trace their roots to that region, but they do a great job with Hunan, Cantonese, and some Szechuan cuisine as well. Check it out. Lunch specials are a cheap way to jump into the pool. Enjoy!

This is one of my favorite places to eat lunch. If I'm going to eat Chinese food it is always at this location. I love the special menu because you can choose a 3 dishes and a soup for a discounted rate. My friends and I always love to come here and have that special.

Im not much into chinese food, my wife is Asian, and I get more then I like with her home cookin, but, Mr Chu, is really authentic. The hot and sour soup is the best I had, and my wife agrees its better than hers..

Try the mooshu pork, love the pancakes.., I requested extra hoisin sauce, and our server responded with a smile and small dish.. good service, good food, good spot. Mark
