Without a bad conscience, I can recommend trips with Peak Adventures to anyone interested in outdoor trips!
I'm an international student from Germany who doesn't have a car. Therefore, I was looking for cheap and good opportunities to see places in California, go for hikes and meet new people.
Peak Adventures accelerated my expectations by far. I love how literally every staff member is super lovely and fun. They take "leave no trace behind" seriously and educate participants to a certain level. Also, the group size is always lovely (max. 20 participants). They encourage everybody to get to know the group.
So far, I have gone on a day hike to lake Tahoe, Point Reyes and Apple Hill; Also, I've been on a weekend camping trip to lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park (see some pictures of that below). All the camping gear, as well as food, is provided. The price might seem high for some people, but trust me, it would be much more if you'd rent a car and the gear (I checked with my friends).
You'll definitely find me on more trips!
Thanks, Peak Adventures!! <3

Look no further when trying a new outdoor adventure than with Peak Adventures! You are well taken care of by all of the trip staff/guides. It is a great way to get some sunshine or just an ego boost from being outdoors. Amazing way to meet some great well diverse people around Sac State. Been on hiking, whitewater rafting, Arches National Park a week long camping/road trip, and Yosemite National Park camping trip. All trips were incredible life changing experiences :))

I was lucky enough to do the mural bike tour mid-week from 12-3. Noah and Gus were my guides. They acclimated me to the rental bike to ensure I was comfortable and confident, and they went over bike safety basics. They were professional and overall just good guys, super nice and just easy to engage conversation. I had a blast. I have been on one Peak Adventure trip (half day rafting trip). I love the price. I love that I don't have to figure all the trip details out and can hop on a trip. And the people are super informative and just cool. I plan on going on the Point Reyes backpacking trip. Highly highly recommend Peak Adventures.

This is the place to rent snowshoes! You get four days for the same price that other places charge for one day. They also rent out MSR Denali Evo which are some of the lightest snowshoes on the market. Keep in mind, they don't have heel lifts, so they're not intended for ascending.
The shop is located on Sac State's campus, but parking was easy with the multiple 30 minute spots within short walking distance.
The staff were friendly and accommodating.
Overall, great experience!
By the way, the snowshoes worked great! I couldn't have summited Roundtop without them!

My friends and I went to Yosemite National Park this past weekend and we rented our camping equipment from Peak Adventures. The staff are super friendly and it was super affordable. They also give great advice for those who are very new to camping!

Rented snowshoes from Peak Adventures and had a great time doing the Mt. Judah Loop trail near Donner Lake with my fiancé. The shoes worked great and it was nice to rent the trekking poles with them too.

This is the best kept secret in Sacramento for bike repairs. So easy to bike to being right off the American River Parkway bike trail. The staff is awesome. They are knowledgeable and may not even charge for quick minor repairs. Their prices are very reasonable and they have quick turnaround times.

This place is one of my favorite on campus! I went on trips with them to Lake Tahoe, Point Reyes and Yosemite National Park, and every time was awesome. The staff are super friendly, helpful and passionate. In addition with the organized trips, they are also renting camping gear and giving a lot of advices for beginner campers (thanks to them we camped in Sequoia National Park with my friends).
As an international student, I would not have done these trips without you, so thank you so much for offering these possibilities!!

Peak Adventures is THE place to go. As a transfer student, I had no clue how I was going to come in and make friends. Going on these trips have given me some of the best friends I could ever imagine!! I highly recommend going in and seeing what trips interest you! Challenge yourself, you never know what you're capable of. Their trips are diverse and each one has different opportunities and activity levels for those who want to go hard and those who just want to explore! I've been on around 5 trips now and each one has been incredibly different in the experience you get out of it. :)

Peak Adventures is a hidden gem on the Sac State campus. The staff are all extremely knowledgeable and caring, and will go out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience. I have gone on countless trips with them, and they have all been experiences of a lifetime. In addition to the trips, their bike shop and gear shop are top notch and always have what you need.
I can't recommend them enough, and can't wait for my next adventure with them!

Love this place. I've been twice so far -- fixing flat tires. Super affordable. I recommend for non-students especially. Don't worry about being a Sac State student, the employees at PA will help you and give you a fair price. They fixed my flat tire in less than 15 mins.

I called this store looking for an oar for my raft. The guy on the phone was friendly and helpful, and let me know it wasn't something they carried or could help me with... but recommended a few other places I could call. Thank you so much. I haven't found my oar, but I appreciate your taking the time to help.
By the way, a place he did suggest to call was River Rat Raft and Bike rental. That guy was very rude to me. Dont be like that guy.

I had the opportunity to go to a Yosemite camping trip Peak adventures was hosting with some of my friends and the staff was incredible. Ross, Karina, Mia, and Elena were really nice, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable about the activities we were doing and the area we were in. They also gave me great advice on camping gear that I didn’t even know was a necessity to new campers like myself. Thank you peak adventures for allowing students like me to go on trips that I would have never experienced if it wasn’t for a program such as this. :)

I rented backpacking gear for a camping trip and it was great! The equipment was in great shape and top of the line. The backpack I got was very big so it fit all our equipment. What I like best is that the rental period is from Friday-Monday for most rentals meaning you can pick up your gear and take it with you for your trip on the weekend and return it on Monday. The prices can't be beat. There's free parking by the bookstore right in front of Peak Adventures, so it was easy to load up my equipment. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and gave me great tips for my backpacking trip. I will definitely rent again from Peak Adventures.

I rented a snowboard from Peak very last minute. They were super helpful and when I couldn't make it for return, they offered to stay late, after a full days work, to accommodate. I use them for both winter sports and my bike repairs. I appreciate their customer service and hope more people start utilizing their options. Thanks guys! and gals!

I rented some backpacking gear from Peak Adventures. It was supposed to be my first backpacking trip, however was canceled due to bad weather.
Their gear is really good and I was impressed. The backpacks were super nice Deuter packs. The sleeping bags were 15 degree bags and the 2-man tent was really awesome too. I'm super bummed I didn't get to use them. I will definitely rent from them again, if I get another chance to go backpacking.
I think for 2 backpacks, 2 sleeping bags, 2 sleeping mats and a 2-man tent, the total cost to rent was maybe $110. The deposit was about $900. So it was quality gear.
Their customer service was excellent and I was able to ask them to hold my gear until my trip. I just had to pay the rental fee in advance. I believe they had 4-day and 7-day rentals. I had to opt for the 7-day just because of the long weekend and timing.
My only wish is that their hours were longer or that they were open on the weekends, but you can't have everything. ;) I also wish they had special parking since it is at Sac State. Parking can be difficult during class times.

I'm not a student at CSUS, so I was hesitant to deal with the parking and walking across campus to get my bike tuned. Since the prices seemed so reasonable, I gave them a shot. It was absolutely worth it. Nicest guys ever there. They gave my bike a quick inspection and determined I didn't need to spend as much as I planned for the more thorough tuning. Bike was done on time and after changing the chain and adjusting derailers it rides like a brand new bicycle. I'm a very satisfied customer. I'll be going back. Only caution: I would not go to peak to shop for a road bike or accessories- brand selection and supply is very limited (this is not their specialty)

They provided the best VIRTUAL team building activities ever! Our staff needed to laugh together. We had Peak provide us a second session to teacher our staff how to improve their zoom meeting. We're bringing this group back for more services. You won't be disappointed!!!!!
