I wish I could move to Sun Valley just to have the best care ever for my dogs, at Sun Valley animal hospital in Ketchum. My 6 yr old Golden Ginni has had 2 hip replacements and an ACL all by Dr. Randy. Her recoveries have been amazing. she is running and playing like she so deserves! Don't hesitate to make the best decision for pup!

The absolute best Vet in Southern Idaho. Years ago Dr Randy Acker fixed one of my pups legs that was broken. I drive 1.5 hours to see them, Dr Maggie is Jack's Dr, she is incredible. From the minute you walk in to the time you leave they all make you feel at home. Thank you

We had a great experience with this clinic for our dog's TPLO surgery. Dr. Amber was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us in a way that was easy to understand. You can tell that the staff loves animals and all of their procedures are very efficient. The woman working the front desk was SO helpful with our insurance and took care of everything for us. So grateful to have found this clinic to care for our pets.

Such a positive experience with all involved for Jaxon’s TPLO (severed ACL) surgery! With such a great reputation from our vet and friends, the 4.5 hour drive (1 way) to SVAC was well spent to give our pup the best care & treatment! Dr. Maggie was phenomenal in explaining the procedure prior to and clearly identified what to expect and how to handle post-surgery. Everything went smoothly and Jax is recovering well! Can’t wait to have him back to normal and playing again! Would absolutely recommend SVAC for this procedure/surgery, as it actually changes the biomechanics of the joint and eliminates the need for an ACL (CCL for dogs) which allows for a faster recovery and never have to worry about tearing that ligament again! Last Saturday we had to take our year and a half old lab mix in for a TPLO surgery. When going in I was extremely anxious as the vet in my hometown hadn’t really helped us to understand the surgery we were going in for and weren’t very supportive for the 3 months of injury prior to surgery. Dr. Tobias went ABOVE and BEYOND for us and our pup. He was so thorough and comforting. He truly cares about every person and animal that walks into that clinic. His work is EXCEPTIONAL and our girl is recovering very well. Thank you for making a not so fun situation a whole lot easier. Thank you for helping us understand the surgery and after care in depth. We will only be taking our girl to him for any surgeries or serious treatments!

The staff at Sun Valley Animal Center took amazing care of my dog. Dr. Acker provided a very thorough orthopedic examination and walked me through the TPLO surgery plan in detail. He was able to perform surgery for our dog after we were turned away by another surgeon. I drove 4 hours one way and stayed two nights and it was all worth it for her to receive the best care in the industry.

Almost one year ago exactly, we brought our Newf to Dr. Randy Acker for a total hip replacement. I had heard so many wonderful things about Dr. Acker and everyone was right! Our Newf Lenny has done SO well. He was only a year old and already on pain medications every day when we did the surgery. Now he's on no pain meds and has no trouble getting up like he used to. I was so nervous the day of the surgery but it was the best decision I could have made for Lenny.

Dr. Akers, Frank, Denise, Susan, & the whole family are just great! My 1 year old rottweiler comes from bad genes & I don't want her suffering or in pain when she's just a baby. I want her to have a quality life for as long as possible. Dr. Akers & team did just that with the least invasive way possible. Now this lil pony sleeps pain free after having a fun day of sunning & roaming in the yard. Our girl is acting like a puppy again thanks the Dr. Akers team & our amazing local vet Dr. German.

Dr. Tobias was amazing! He helped us make an informed decision by explaining everything thoroughly. He gave us time to think about the decision to proceed with surgery. He gave us a fantastic recommendation for a consultation with another specialist to keep our dog as healthy as possible. Highly recommend!!!

The best surgeons in the world are here in my opinion. I’ve taken 4 Pomeranians here, for luxating patella’s. And I just had to take my latest Pomeranian Elwood in, bc he tore his ACL equivalent. I’ve never had any issues, and would only take my dogs here, for any kind of orthopedic surgery. Elwood’s already trying, to cruise around less than a week after surgery. I absolutely love this place!!

Our Aussiedoodle torn the cranial crucial ligament in his left hind leg. Our vet, Dr. Clark, recommended the vets at the Sun Valley Animal Clinic for his surgery. We called and they got us in right away. Dr. Amber Acker explained the procedure to us, showed us the appliance that would be used for the repair and put us at ease. Following surgery doctor went over everything with us herself. It’s just day 3 post op, but our Aussiedoodle is doing well. The Acker’s came highly recommended. We now know why.

This experience was stellar from start to finish! Sue, Dr. Randy Acker and all of the staff were amazing. They took great care of our dog and were very kind to me as well. Dr. Acker called when he was done with her surgery and gave me an excellent update. I was able to call that evening as well to check on her. They gave me a time to pick her up the next day and she was ready right on time. Sue was incredibly kind and helpful on the phone as well as Dr. Acker before we scheduled surgery. He called to check on her at home a few days later and we also had a 2nd call the next day to make sure she was doing well. Sue got me set up with a lovely hotel for the night that gives a hospital rate and I appreciated it very much. I highly recommend Dr. Acker and his team. Our dog is doing great 4 days post op and I expect her to have an amazing recovery!

SVAC came to us highly recommended and they lived up to the reputation. Dr Maggie Acker was patient and answered all of our questions without talking down to us. Staff was also pleasant, helpful and very willing to answer questions. The hardest thing to get at a specialty clinic is face time and we received all that we needed here. Our pup was very well taken care of.

We can’t say enough good things about Dr. Tobias and the practice. We traveled in for TPLO surgery on a Saturday. Dr. Tobias took great care and significant time to examine our puppy and to explain the canine skeleton, the surgery, the post op X-rays, and the post op care. Although we hope we don’t need to do this again, we’d come straight back here if we did!

Telephoned and received the information needed to make an appointment. Scheduled and paid the deposit. Arrived on time and had the consult with the surgeon who provided excellent information and felt comfortable leaving our 9 yr old in their care. Received a call, a bit sooner than they had told us, with the great news that surgery had gone great and she was ready to be picked up. Again, an informative discussion with the surgeon and received a home care information, prescriptions, and supplies, Could not have gone easier. We’re very with the ease , professionalism and comfort we received. We would definitely recommend Sun Valley lAnimal Center.

I had an incredible experience at Sun Valley Animal Care. Dr. Tobias was exceptional - he took the time to explain a treatment plan for my dog. I felt that he really cared about the outcome for my pet and I'm grateful I was able to make the trip to have my dog evaluated here. I'd highly recommend this business.

Dr Tobias saved my labs life after a botched surgery done by a local vet in my city. I will never take my dog anywhere else for surgeries, dental issues or anything where he needs to be anesthetized. They are really the very best in the country.
