+JMJ... Friday, 1 November 2019, Paid a recent visit. Was in relatively neat order for a desert cemetary...Delighted in taking more photos, especially of a Unicorn statue. Photos posted....Here follows my 1st review posted 3.8.2017...Very tranquil cemetery even with the whizzing sounds of weedeaters and steady traffic of vehicles in Main Street. This cemetery is a truly desert one with cactus, weeds, tumbleweeds, and those stickly cuccuburros (wearing flip flops is not a good idea!) and little lizards everywhere! Yet, this potentially desolate scenario is offset by the presence of colorful birds and the many graves decorated with colorful live and artificial flowers. My visits to any cemetery are to pray the Rosary for all the deceased interned therein. Also, I like strolling through the memories of others and to behold the memorable tributes placed on graves. Children's graves are very touching because of the toys and even the photos placed. And, as a tribute to Military Veterans, one can find some with American flags. This is a place of serenity for anyone who has a heart for and and desire to pray for the deceased. God grant them all eternal rest.

We used to drop acid in this cemetery back in the late 70s early 80s.....

Both my Mother and Father are buried here. They moved to Cottonwood in 1979 and got their plots at that time. My Dad is buried in the Veterans area at the cemetery. I would like to see a distinctive marker placed to honor the military buried in that area. The looks of the cemetery vary greatly due to the seasons. I am okay with the look, it's the desert. The city maintains it, there are no monthly fees. 🙂

Our pioneer ancestors are buried here in the oldest part of the cemetery. After talking with a very nice gentleman from City of Cottonwood, I plan to put down pavers during the cool season.

Peaceful, of course. Litter-free. The adjoining street has a sign that reads "Dead End." I l♡ cemeteries. Goatheads can be cleared but with diligence. After rain, the plants come out easily. I'd like to visit on Nov 30, the dia de los muertes (sp?) There are many graves of Mexican people and they are colorful and clean. Nice place.

Peaceful but right on Main Street.

The pictures in Jean's Review and where I visited a few days ago look like a different place. I was quite shocked when I walked around and noticed that the grounds were so neglected. Is there a caretaker? Weeds were overgrown, the flowers on the graves looked like they had been there for years.
These are peoples loved ones. There is no reason why it needs to look that bad.
