Booked here on the recommendation of my boss who has been staying here every year for many, many years. You’ve got to love a well run, friendly, family owned business.
Super clean. Comfortable beds. Great location. Very friendly staff. We were fishing until dark and I called to make sure we weren’t checking in too late. The receptionist was so accommodating with our late check in. The owner even inquired about how my boss is doing - what a personal touch.

Best hotel stay since we left on vacation several days ago. This 4 generation family owned business focuses on all the most important things. We stayed in a double queen room. It was Spacious, clean (and I mean really clean) and had 2 luggage stands. Lots of fluffy fresh towels, etc. The beds were comfortable. The sheets were nice and crisp. There were 4 good pillows on each bed. The AC/heat worked well. Plenty of hot water. Free WiFi and there is a TV amd fridge. Free coffee next door. Proximity to the park and local shops and restaurants is perfect. This is a great place to land for a good night's rest!

Probably the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed at!! Seriously. Front desk check in was easy and there was coffee and cups in my room. Bed was ultra comfy and my pillow was fresh!! Very quiet. Shops and restaurants within walking distance. Definitely recommend this spot for your Yellowstone trip.

We stayed here for 3 nights the first week of June 2023. The stay was absolutely perfect. Cole was very helpful and made sure we were satisfied with everything concerning our stay. The room itself was spotless clean and the recent upgrades were very evident throughout. It is very easy to see that they reinvest funds to keep the facility in great condition. For the price and location you will not find a better place in west Yellowstone.. Restaurants, shopping, gas etc. were easy walking distance as is the visitor center just across the street.. The location to the park entrance is unmatched by anything anywhere near the park. I will definitely check Al's first for any future visits to the area..
Thanks Cole and the whole staff for the great stay..

Great little place to stay in West Yellowstone. This is not a 5 star hotel, but is definitely a 5 star effort by what seems to be a family operation. We stayed a second night and were very comfortable here. Can easily walk one block to restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

This has everything I look for, clean, safe and doesn't break the bank. I don't need frills, we were gone all day, this was the perfect place to sleep after long days hiking and sightseeing. Can't ask for a better location. Could walk everywhere. Bed comfy, room clean, people helpful! I've seen people complain about no microwave and no coffeemaker in room. 2 seconds to the gas station gets you free coffee and tea (same family owned I believe) and we were so hungry when we got back from hiking, didn't need a microwave, lol, ate everything on the plate in the nearby restaurants. (The Three Bears was our fave!) Plus, being a family owned operation is a bonus, love supporting small businesses over large chains when we can.

We stayed at Al's Westward Ho Motel for 8 days. We met Cole and his lovely family. They were all wonderful. They work hard to maintain this place and make sure that the place stays beautiful. When we arrived, we noticed hanging flower baskets greeting us all around. When we entered the office area, we felt as if we were in a log cabin with a fireplace and warm atmosphere all around. This tall gentleman greeted us and answered all of our questions. He was very accommodating and made us feel welcome. We found out his name was Cole. It's hard to say this quaint place is a motel as it is way too clean to call it that. I was very skeptical, but once we saw our room I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad they don't want people to cook in the room. That probably helps keep it cleaner too. This place is located right outside the entrance to the park and so you don't have to sit in the long line waiting to enter. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to stay outside the park. Strongly recommended.

Staff (Al, I assume) was great, and while it's clearly not a luxury resort, everything was clean and comfortable and generally in good shape. Place was quiet, as well, but visiting in the off season means I can't comment much on that. An unexpected but very welcome bonus, and one that seems odd to mention, was the surprisingly soft and plush carpets. After a long day on your feet it's a wonderful thing to have. Also can't fault the location - about as close to Yellowstone park as it gets in town, and easy walking distance to many amenities.

Small family owned hotel, I think the owner said third generation. It's not a Marriott but the rooms were very nice. There was a refrigerator, and the coffee was right around the corner. The location to the park entrance was incredibly convenient! Oh and there is a nice long hiking trail literally across the street from the hotel.

A true to its roots motel, almost a literal stone throw away from the Yellowstone gate, pun not intended. When we walked into the room I immediately knew it was clean from the scent of the fresh clean linens. A definite must for the cost, I doubt you will find much better bang for your buck in this town.

Literally 1/4 of a Mile from yellowstone entrance.
Nice updated rooms.
Don't show up early.
Checkin is at 4 pm and they mean it.
Our flight arrived in WYS at 1 39 pm. We went to motel to checkin.
Nobody was there. Just a hand written note on door stating the 4 pm checkin time.
They own the store next door and offer free coffee and water to their guests.

I'll start with yes I'll stay here again and I recommend it. Staff is great. Rooms are very clean. Comfortable and safe area. Easy access. As far as typical lodging ratings are considered, in my opinion this is between a 1 and 2 star type motel with about a 4.5-5 out of 5 star rating. One of the best little motels I've stayed at across the country. No real cons... if I had to say any cons, maybe no microwave... but they have connections with the the gas station just a 1 minute walk from the rooms. They have free coffee and microwave there. So that's a big deal. And maybe no breakfast but that's hit miss anywhere you go. Overall good experience.

This place isn't bad at all! I was a bit apprehensive with some reviews I read, but I'd definitely stay here again!
Straight up hotel only, free wifi, don't expect a gym or business center - simple. You also get free tea or coffee from the gas station next door, there is a small single make coffee pot in the room -no decaf or tea. No microwave.
Clean room and bathroom, nice front desk person too! Really conveniently located in Western Yellowstone and easy walking distance to main street shops and food.

Perfect location near entrance to park, restaurants, shops, visitor center, etc. Spacious, clean, and comfortable room. I loved having the sink area separate since there were 4 of us in 1 room.

Nice beds. Good AC. Shower pressure was amazing. The parking lot was full, but we didn't hear any of the other guests. They were nice enough to let us keep one of our cars there after checking out while we drove around Yellowstone for the day.

Clean and comfortable no frills place! Super convenient access to the West Entrance to Yellowstone. Very nice staff! Forgot my tablet in the room, called and Bailey had it and held it. Wouldn't take any money for keeping it until we got back to pick it up. She said that's part of her job, reuniting people with the stuff we leave behind. Thank you Bailey!!

Al’s was the cheapest place in town, and while they weren’t *inexpensive*, their rates were still fairly affordable. In all honesty, I’d say about 30% of what you were paying for was just location alone — you’re within walking distance of the western entrance to Yellowstone NP. Still, the price didn’t detract from our stay here. The staff at the front desk were engaging and kind, and the rooms were clean and fun. Honestly disappointed that I only booked one night here, but we were eastbound and down so we didn’t have time to extend our stay in the area.

Hopefully I’ll be back again someday, because I definitely enjoyed my stay here!

We stayed here on July 5th last year and we loved every bit of it. Rooms are neat, well maintained and a mini kitchen is a plus here. Totally worth the money spent.

We stayed here 4 nights as we explored Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons National Parks. Very handy to Yellowstone, perfect staging area. Nice room and really appreciated the min fridge and microwave. Would definitely stay here again.
