Key West Inn - Newport News

I usually pick chain motels (like the days inn across the street) but love the charm of independent operators, and this didn't disappoint. It fit my needs perfectly. The staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. The Wi-Fi is great.
And, there is a sonic and 7-Eleven right next to it!
Can't beat the price or location.

These rooms are da bomb. Hot tubs, look classy, and very private. It's a motel not a hotel so there's no service but if you want a clean place to do dirty deeds then this is the place for you and me both.

I stayed here when I went to busch gardens last week. Rooms are very clean, no obnoxious live ins like the reviews say, there are a few but they keep to themselves. Beds are very comfy; not just for a hotel bed. The guy at the front desk whom I assume is the owner is very nice, checked me in late and quickly. Overall friendly environment. Will definitely stay here next time I go!

I Have Stayed Here About Two Weeks Now. The Hotel Is Nice And Clean And It Takes The Maid At Least A Hour To Clean One Room So You Know That They Are Taking Extra Precautions During This Time Of Sickness. The Man At The Front Desk Is My Absolute Favorite. He Is Very Nice And Quick. And Really Nice About Getting Me Comfortable And Anything I Needed He Was Willing To Help Me With Any Issues I Will Gladly Recommend This Hotel. It Is A Perfect Location Around Restaurants And The Mall

I think when reviewing something, that there are multiple things to consider.

This is not expensive lodging. It is very inexpensive compared to most, and often times you get what you pay for. The room we had was sparse, but clean. Due to the lack of decorations and extra amenities, it was easy to tell that the room was in fact clean and sanitary. Equal to and surpassing some high end accommodations I have stayed in.

The room we had had two double beds. Both had clean sheets and bedding and were surprisingly comfortable. We didn't have any plumbing or AC issues.

Considering price and location, it well exceeded my expectations.

What really impressed me was the customer service. The gentleman working during my stay was so helpful. When we got in, it was after midnight and we had been in the car for 15 hours. We were exhausted and frazzled. He graciously handled our daze and had was so kind.

He went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Honestly, I have traveled all over the world. Hotels and lodging arrangements are nothing new to me. I have stayed in 5 star hotels and rode side motels. When it came to customer service AND hospitality, he won.

Hospitality is rare in the industry. It is easy to get burnt out and sick of people. He treated us like guests in his home. We ended up there the morning of a Tropical storm, totally derailing our vacation plans. He was always checking the weather and offering helpful advice and ideas for the time we had there. Don't get me wrong. He wasn't a busy body and all up in our business. Every time we went down for coffee or anything else, he made it a point to show that our stay and comfort genuinely ment something to him and he wanted us to have a great time at the hotel and out and about.

That speaks volumes. I am more than happy to give I 5 stars and next time I am in the area, I won't consider staying anywhere else. We had everything we needed and more. It won't break the bank giving us more fun money, and the people care.

This place is cool as an ice cube in a milkshake in the storage freezer. I called em to make a reservation and got straightforward info but couldn't pay right then. Ended up coming to the hotel to get the room and talked to someone else. He was great, he gave me the same info and was super nice. He even knew I'd been there before. Would recommend

Come to this motel, I'm in room one fourteen, I'm tired. I'm just seeing the hottest woman in the world working at the front. Yes, oh, my God.

You don't come to the key for luxury, you come for the beautiful atmosphere and the cheap price. The rooms may not be the cleanest in the world but the staff is hard working and clearly cares about their guest. If you want a hotel that feels like Newport news, come to the key west.

This is not a luxury hotel. But its a nice clean room at a very cheap price. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Lived there long term for over 6 months. No problems. Highly recommend.

The room was very clean and quiet.Room service was excellent.Very nice and helpful staffing.Definitely will stay there again.Also stores and restaurants are right next door along with grocery stores as well.

Staff is very friendly. Rooms are plain, but clean. Everything works. Nice and clean. No luxury, but perfect for a short stay, or even extended stay. I stayed for over 6 months.

This hotel is straight forward not luxurious but clean no fuss. Easy checkin. For a bargain it'll get you through the night without being bit up or treated poorly.

I enjoyed the atmosphere so good location the rooms are clean and I also has couch as well they service three Wells on towels and rags and soap and stuff

It was a very clean room, also a very nice and quiet place. The gentleman that checked us in was very nice and polite, he was also very helpful.

Moving from out of state and was so helpful and accommodating. Definitely will be back.

Hotel was great, the young lady at the front desk was very professional and polite but as far as the manger very rude!!! He had such a nasty attitude

This place is good the staff are very nice and take care of any problem you have the rooms are clean and no bugs and the price is the best around for nightly or weekly

Had a king size room with a jacuzzi tub . The price for the room was great too !

Staff are all kind.The owner was also very kind and thoughtful.
