my boyfriend and I went during the day for a drink. the staff was very friendly and knew a lot about the beer they had and explained each one to us, which I like. we each had a flight of some recommended beers, which were all great, and sat outside. beautiful views and very rustic, comfortable feel to the brewery!!

So impressed! Every beer was great and we did multiple flights. Food was excellent too. Grilled cheese made with in house bread made daily and pulled pork done on site. The also didn't slack on the sides which can sometimes be just an after thought. They mailed them. I also like that the coleslaw was very lightly mayonnaised. We can't wait to come back in the spring when we can play a game of Cornhole while enjoying the laid-back and natural setting.

Beautiful October 1st day to get out and explore.
I stopped in here looking to enjoy some good drink and conversation and received both.
The bartender hooked me up on his recommendations out of a nice selection that were all self made in house.
Everyone were enjoying themselves and were great to be around and talk to.
People were sitting in and out and one fellah had his two friendly dogs with him.
A nice place out in the country to be … try it out.

They were great! We stayed here as an RV and everyone was super friendly. Amazing place, great atmosphere, and really good beer. Highly recommended.

Lovely intimate brewery that happens to have a small, personalized menu of delicious food. We enjoyed both the beer and food.

Taproot was open, very large and nicely decorated. Bar is set up nicely with all the beers displayed on taps. Nice table setup. Nice landscaping. Friendly atmosphere.

Nice place good beer. Don't be fooled if it looks closed, the taproom is behind the main building.

Five stars for the beer and service. All of the beers I tired were fantastic. Service was good, prices were on point. If there was any compliant out would be that the menu was small, but the food itself was really good. Never thought to put dill in coleslaw, but I will now! Great place, check it out if you're into small craft beers!

First off the scenery and location is awesome. The beer is top notch, the Mr Pats Abby Ale was my favorite, the Bay Nut Brown was the runner up. The food was really good. The Pull Pork sandwich was very tasty with the coleslaw. The Angus Cheeseburger was very good. If you are Middletown, VA you must stop by you will not be disappointed.

Great beers and very relaxed atmosphere with picnic tables. Good food (try the grilled cheese) and reasonable prices.

The succinct menu of Backroom Brewery was perfect. Whether cheeseburger, pulled pork or garden burger, it was good. The sides are thoughtful and the beer was great. The beer leaned to the mild side so go for one of the more flavorful brews on tap. They are generous with the taste tests so you can decide.

Beer was great, service was great, nice environment. Will be back!

Wow!! What an awesome place!! We visited on a warm and sunny spring day with our dog! Such a laid back and friendly atmosphere! Wonderful selection of beer. Ordered the ribeye sandwich and it was delicious. Highly recommended place for anyone who likes friendly folks, good food and great beer. I hope this place will consider live music in the warmer months of the year.

We stopped through on a whim and loved our visit. All the beers we had were well balanced and the food hit the spot. A unique chili pepper red really caught our attention this trip, but also really liked the hazy. The property was also a great one to roam around or grab a picnic table - plenty of outside space and very friendly service

Staying here overnight as a member of Harvest Host and the place is great. Had a few beers at the brewery and bought some growlers to go. If you are visiting and want to have some great beer ask for the Black Truffle Pig black ipa or The Ferminator. If you are looking for something lighter the Pineapple Sage Blonde is where it is at! Great beer. I love how well they incorporate herb flavors in some of their brews.

Nice local brewery. Wide selection of beers, something for everyone. My mom n I did two flights, 8 samples. I feel like they have a great handle on their brewing cuz they are strong in all their varieties! We also stayed the night in our RV as Harvest Host Members and it was such a beautiful and quiet place to stay!
