Benton Clean Air Agency

I recently moved to Richland, Washington: As an asthmatic who is affected more than the average person by air quality issues, I appreciate the availability of accurate, timely data provided by BCAA.

They do not know how to forecast when we can burn.

I have been filing complaints with Benton Clean Air Agency for the last 18 months about the housing development at the SW corner of 10th Ave & Columbia Center Blvd in Kennewick. I have left numerous voicemails and emails. I have provided videos and detailed descriptions of the massive amounts of dirt blowing off this site for the last year and a half. I have come to the conclusion the the development is much happier paying some small occasional fines than doing anything to address the dirty air issue appropriately. What is the point of having our tax dollars fund this agency? Any money spent on this feckless agency would be better spent elsewhere.

I called again about the blowing dust in the Belmont housing division in West Richland. Nothing was done last time.Several vacant lots are blowing. They seem to be more concerned about burning tumble weeds than dust blowing.
If dust blowing is not a number 1 priority what do we need them for ? Maybe it's time to cut their funding, our property taxes are too high to spend on an agency that does nothing but rickets illegal tumble weed burning.

Does not seem to care about fugitive dust when it comes to large companies and big money. Government's role is to protect individuals against this sort of thing. Very dissapointed in my interactions with this agency.
