Residence Inn by Marriott Newport News Airport

This has got to be the cleanest hotel I have ever been in. My grandmother, who would use a whole can of Lysol in a hotel room (choking everyone out) would have left the can in her purse. The entire hotel is being completely renovated floor by floor. We were in two of the older non-renovated rooms. While the the furniture has a lot of wear and tear and one of the kitchen cabinet doors was cracked, it was absolutely spotless. I am not exaggerating when I say you could eat off the floor. If housekeeping take care of an older room like this I can just imagine how nice it will be one they finish renovating. The beds were clean and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked and you can call down to the front desk for many items. The front desk people were so friendly and efficient. The outside sitting area was so nice. The breakfast was really delicious and varied. While near the interstate and airport its on a quiet road with easy access to a Dunkin Donuts, Cracker Barrel (Do NOT waste your time with curbside pickup though) & gas station

The staff was friendly and help. Everyone says hello or good morning. The room is a decent size for a hotel and the bed is so comfortable that I didn't want to check out the next day. Breakfast is small buffet with decent food.

The desk clerks, Lakishia, Ashley, we're very helpful and assisting us with what we needed. The breakfast crew, Tina Troy and Zack served up a delicious menu each morning and were very friendly. We thank them for making our stay comfortable.

All staff were kind and very helpful! Loved our room with the kitchen and large refrigerator. TV reception wonderful. Best of all, the breakfasts were fantastic! We will be back.❤

My family and I have been coming to this hotel for a little over 14 years. It's lovely. The general manager know us and have been extremely friendly over the last decade and a half! We live in Pennsylvania and come down to visit both sets of grandparents here in Newport News and has been our go to hotel. Pre-covid they had a great breakfast. Post-covid the breakfast has not been the same (totally understand) but I've found new places to eat down here so not that upset about it. We have seen this hotel go through the remodel and the rooms have truly been upgraded! My sister had a baby shower here and it was really lovely their conference room! The only thing I can think of for them to change is maybe getting more TV options. The last few years when I come the channels are very spotty. Other than that I will forever recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the area.

This place is a great spot! The hotel is clean and neat, the amenities are good, and the staff is awesome! Miss Becky runs a very tight ship, and make sure all guests’ needs are met!

I highly recommend staying at this location.

I was not disappointed this time! I got my room for a week, 4 - 9 Feb 2024, and my stay was good. I can't say awesome because the hotel is in the process of updating the rooms and making their customers happy.Thank You and love this place! Home away from Home!

As always, when I travel to Newport News, this is my choice for hotels. I was very disappointed when I could not get a room there this past week. I have been staying there for the past 12 years, not this time. Missed this place and the awesome people that manages this kingdom.

This hotel is a lovely, quiet setting that sets the bar at its highest for Hospitality. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable. With a Kitchen and everything you'd need to cook a meal. Fluffy towels, and comfortable beds. The tvs are flat screen with streaming capability. The hotel is centrally located, with many resturaunts and shopping nearby. Nice pool and gym. Laundry room for guests and a nice basketball court. There's also a lovely area with a fire pit and gas grill. The front atrium is gorgeous and great for parties. Hotel is close to the airport but off the main roadway so nice and quiet.Directly across from an event business, so perfect for wedding guests etc.
May we say Thank you to the staff. We travel for work. Which means living in hotels for months at a time, so when hotel staff members make you feel at home and welcome, it means alot. Thank you Mgr. Rebecca Jones. You always have a smile and ensure your guests are happy and your employees are happy also. She's made a family unit in a corporate setting and created a happy workplace for her team. Cat Marple at the front desk, your a shining gem. Always there for your guests, working diligently to ensure your clients happiness. Miss Summer, front desk, always a breath of fresh air. Anthony and Jesse, maintenance. Keep things working! And always greet their clients, and Chris in housekeeping, thank you for always remembering I needed extra kitchen towels and keeping our room spotless. I could go on and on listing the folks who work tirelessly at this hotel, but let's just say This is a top notch crew all the way around and we Thank you for sharing yourselves with us and our crew.

All I can say is very pleasant. The staff at the desk and the morning breakfast cook are absolutely pleasant. This place is well worth the stay. Everything remains clean and very respectful. Me and my husband absolutely love the customer service.

Great value and location. Our room had separate kitchen, wash room, toilet closet, and bedroom. Felt like i was in an apartment! The icing on the cake was a gas fireplace. From the lobby, to the fitness center, to the room, it appears to have been updated in the last 5 years.

We've stayed here several times. It is very clean and friendly staff. It has a hot breakfast but not like it was before the pandemic (most things are prepackaged). It's very close to restaurants and a Walmart.

Outstanding service and the staff was so warm and friendly. Absolutely, love the set up of my King Suite. I've already informed my family about this hotel. We will certainly be booking again in a few weeks and in the future. Come experience for yourself!!!

Great place to stay. Clean facilities, friendly employees. Dog/pet friendly. Good breakfast, they even had cold brew. Rooms were clean and you could really crank down the air conditioning to make the room nice and cold. Good shower pressure. They beds were a little warm, the reason for making the room an ice box. But overall pretty comfortable. Plenty of space to put cloths away. Kitchen had a dishwasher, fridge, sink w/ disposal, microwave, and two small burners. Cabinets had all the essentials for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The pool was clean and the gym seemed nice, though I can't say I thought of using it. There was an outdoor grill available for guests. Overall this hotel was excellent and I would stay again. Wish all places were like this Residence Inn.

So I stayed here with a co-worker who had literally been staying there twice a month for the past 6 years...and I know why he came back every time instead of choosing a different hotel. Incredible staff that treat's you like family even if it's your first time there. Spotless rooms and a darn good breakfast in the AM. Also the tastings of local restaurants some nights is a very nice touch. I loved this place. Made a tough work trip so much better knowing I was coming back to a nice comfortable environment at the end of the day. Great job Residence Inn!

Excellent staff and service! Our home AC was out and we stayed for two weeks at the Residence Inn by the Newport News airport. The staff were amazing; they really helped us out with extending our stay and making sure we were accommodated. The facility was clean, the rooms well-equipped, and the location was convenient.

This place is Nice! It is much better than All the Other hotels in the area. It's Clean, The Staff are Friendly, and they are very Helpful. They have an awesome Free Breakfast Too!

Newly renovated, very clean, employees were very helpful. The meet and greet was very nice. The room was very nice. We needed extra 30 mins for checkout and was given an extra hour without hassle. I believe they had more people for breakfast as the food was being emptied quicker than they could fill them. The person working that area was very patient and worked very quickly.

Love this place. Everyone is so nice. The Manager, Ms Jones is wonderful, very professional. She has a great staff. Ashley, my fave was here today. She is professional as well. Makes me feel so special, remembers my wants, since I come here often. Ms. Jones, you have a great staff. It's always clean. The ladies that work the breakfast are phenomenal.

I love this hotel the pool and the breakfast this is why I gave it 5 stars….. I had one unfortunate time I must say where I booked through their online service they charged my card so I never got the room I wanted both the website and the front desk had mixed information I’ll only pay at the desk for now on

I stayed here for work for a few weeks and really liked it. Having a stove, full size refrigerator, kitchen sink, pots, etc. really makes it easier to get into a rhythm for work. If I go out to eat all the time I feel like an entire night is wasted. If you ever feel the same way a Residence Inn is the place for you. The rooms are big, well-furnished, and comfortable. Things like dish soap, paper towels, etc. are provided. I noticed the breakfast is a little better/more diverse during weekdays, which is fine with me. There is also free dinner Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. All of this is really catering toward people staying a long time. Pets are allowed, which can be good and bad. Good if you have a pet, but not so good if you have a yappy neighbor. I don't, but there is a dog at the end of the hallway that barks a few times whenever I open the door to the stairs.
