Holiday Inn Express & Suites Newport News, an IHG Hotel

Great friendly staff! Katie was wonderful! Quick service, breakfast included was good too! Rooms were clean but out of date. Clean though really love that! Great stay and location right off the highway! Definitely will book again ⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The check-in was seamless! Room was clean, beds immaculate and comfy. Bathroom needed more work but housekeeping promptly took care of everything. Ms Tina and Rona get 10 stars. Both very helpful and courteous our entire stay! Conveniently located and my only complaint which isn't the hotel's fault is drag racing noise our first night there. I reported it to local police
The remaining part of our stay there was no issue. Slept peacefully.

From day 1 we received outstanding customer service. We stayed 5 nights and Haley at the front desk was nothing less than awesome! She was able to get us in rooms a day earlier than our reservation. The manager David seemed to work all the time but always had a smile on his face. He was dubbed the Popcorn King because he made some sweet and salty popcorn. Lastly Rona, she made sure our rooms were clean and refilled our waters. The location is great with a lot of things around. If my drive home takes me back through Newport News, this is where I will stay!

My favorite hotel to stay in when I'm in town. Friendly staff especially Hector! Everything is always clean. Rooms are spacious and Breakfast buffet is great!

Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff. I didn't catch her name but I know she was a new receptionist that was helping us. She was very nice and cheerful. The manager, David, was amazing and accommodated our early check in and late check out without an issue. The night staff was great as well, as was Will, the engineer, who helped check us out. The hotel and room smelled amazingly clean and everything was spotless. The room was a great size and I loved that it had a bench below the TV for our luggage which is really conveniently. I would've initially given 4 stars because the TV picture wasn't clear and I had to turn the TV on and off multiple times for it to work and the shower had a minor issue with turning on all the way but we were able to work around it. I didn't mention this to the staff until checkout because it was a minor issue and we were sleepy at night so we weren't going to watch much TV anyway. Safe location and only a mile away from the tattoo shop we booked this trip for. I gave 5 stars because the friendliness of the front desk staff and even housekeeping, we were greeted with a smile and people who seem to love their job, which really makes a difference. And I can't express the cleanliness enough which is what I mostly care about. Idk what the staff gets paid but I know they all deserve bonuses!!

I can’t speak for none of the staff at this hotel, other than this young lady in the picture. Katie was AWESOME, the printer wouldn’t print and I had an Astronomy test to take, with one cheat sheet. Katie came to the rescue and printed the what I needed on her end, instead of leaving it at a broke printer and no cheat sheet. Her customer service, and going over and beyond, was awesome. Thanks HR for hiring a good hearted person, that loves what she do.

David the manager is a star. My girls and I checked in and immediately he was engaging with us in the most pleasant way. Every time we would come in, my youngest wanted to know where he was to give him a tootsie roll. Room was great as well but Dave is the reason to stay here.

Not only was everything clean, but every single member of the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The staff running the breakfast area were consistently keeping everything stocked and clean and had great personalities. We had the misfortune of accidentally leaving my 5 year olds most loved stuffed animal behind but the housekeeping staff had already found it and saved it for us so they could easily be reunited. Including any higher rated accommodations I've stayed in before, this was the best hotel experience I've ever had.

Upon my arrival the room I reserved was not yet ready so David made gracious accommodations for the inconvenience. Katie was very helpful and so polite. Angel made sure my room was SPOTLESS. It was clean and smelled so good. The staff and customer service at this location is far beyond excellent!!

I stayed here with my 3 year old this week and the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was super clean and cozy when we arrived. Hotel staff were terrific with helping me with info about places to eat in the area. The indoor pool was very nice and the deck area of it has really comfortable seating. Breakfast could be better but it gets the job done. Will definitely be booking again in the future when we come to visit family!

Shout out to Sharon and Katie for making a mom traveling by herself with 2 small children feel safe and welcome. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I was safe after a previous night at an unsafe and scary hotel (not associated with Holiday inn) This hotel is clean, safe, great breakfast, friendly staff who care about your well being! Highly recommend!

We reserved a room for 2 nights because I was having surgery and wanted to be near the hospital on the morning I had to check in at 5:30 am. instead of driving so far from home so early. And then the second night my husband would have the room to be near the hospital for convenience and in case anything happened and he needed to get there quickly.
While I was checking in PayPal decided to freeze my card for suspicious activity.
After I called and yelled at Paypal about the card,the wonderful young lady at the front desk handed me my room keys and informed me that she had upgraded us to a suite!
That was such a nice surprise and my stress melted away.
It's nice to know people care.
Our stay with Holiday Inn was wonderful. Everyone was kind and pleasant. And the rooms in our suite were very clean and comfortable. We will be back to stay here again! Thank you Holiday Inn Express!
(And my husband enjoyed the free breakfast both mornings!)

The folks who check you in are so kind and helpful. They treat you like family. But not those relatives noone wants to visit, they treat you like the good family...the ones you love and take the best care of!

Clean Rooms, Friendly Staff.. Shout out to my girl Megan for her outstanding customer service and the cleaning lady with the braids (forgot her name) she was really sweet. I will definitely see my ladies again. They made my birthday stay great 🤍💯

Wonderful experience with a wonderful staff and really nice rooms.
We came here to evacuate from the Outer Banks expected hurricane weather. Thank gosh this Holiday inn has a policy of allowing our dogs.
And the staff went out of there way to accommodate us in so many ways. Very polite, personable, and friendly.
Our room was wonderful, well furnished, clean, and with super comfy bed and bed linens!
In addition the breakfast buffet was wonderful and a really nice unexpected surprise!!

Great people working the front desk!!! Room is good and clean as always, standard hotel room, but the people always make it. I forgot something valuable in my room and flew back across the country and they called me immediately and offered to ship it to my house. Great customer service and everytime I am in Newport News I will stay here! Great people, great service, always happy.
