Jose Tequila's Mexican Grill and Bar

I went here with my son for lunch as mexican is our favorite and this place topped the best we've had. The service from Raoul was above and beyond he was friendly courteous attentive and good. He amazed my son by remembering his name when I said it one time. Thank you great job and the fried ice cream we will dream about it tonight. The atmosphere is warm welcoming and not "excessive" like some places are. This place was great.

This is my FAVORITE restaurant in the 757. I no longer reside in VA but when I visit I always go to Jose Tequilas in Newport News.
I've tried the other locations and there's no comparison.
The food is always great, best chicken tortilla soup I've ever eaten, it is full of chicken
I love everything I order especially the fresh guacamole!
The drinks are great, my favorite is the "Latin Lover"
But, what exceeds all is the service. The staff is so friendly and efficient.From the moment the door swings open until you leave they are smiling and offering exceptional hospitality

My favorite Mexican restaurant here! We moved across the country & it has been difficult to find new favorites here but this place is so awesome! It’s large and has a fun “night out” atmosphere whether you’re with family or starting a late night out! They have an extensive menu & absolutely everything is delicious with pretty presentation. Their chupacabra tacos are sooooo delicious—my favorite dish! And their drinks are delicious too!

My kids an hubby took me here last night for my 31st birthday and the kids had a blast wanted to San e while eating, we were all beyond full and very highly satisfied. 100 out of ten will 10000% be eating here ALOT more often! Fastest service I've ever had, and don't get me started on the alcoholic drinks and daily drink deals! Try it and u will be hooked like me!!!!!!

Raul was a great waiter. Kept up with everything and my wife and I had a great experience. WE WILL BE BACK again. Monday Night Fajitas was a great choice for us and the guacamole was a hit as well.

The food was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. I was hungry and usually don't do Mexican, but I was led to Jose Tequilas restaurant, and they did not disappoint!! I'm so full right now and have plenty for tomorrow's lunch at work. The steak and chicken fajitas for one was what I ordered. There is plenty of food.

We ordered from DoorDash. The restaurant had the food ready and it arrived to us hot and fresh. Portions are large and the flavors are on point. I appreciated that they added forks. Will definitely eat here again.

Went for happy hour taco Tuesday around 5:30pm had the carne asada tacos rice and beans sooooo good and the medium margarita which got the job done! Service was friendly and attentive. They were quick with the orders and not crowded. Was seated immediately. Highly recommend and would go again.

Service is amazing, since the beginning they are willing to help you and the food is delicious and a really big amount. So be prepared to eat a lot. Great place to hangout with friends and family. They even sang Happy birthday on three tables since we got there.

Amazing place BUT it has the WEAKEST birria game in town.

I'm rating this place based of my second visit. My first time we had the Mix it Up, chicken nachos and Mexican Tacos. Great taste, crazy big portions and the chicken felt like it was seasoned in Olympus. But the corn tortillas, were way to thick. I've had corn tortillas, from Mexi Cali, Puerto Vallarta, Cancun and ciuad Juarez and none of them were as thick as in this establishment.

My second visist we had Chicken flautas, Birria Tacos and Carne Asada fries. The only highlight was the fries. The chicken was bland on the flautas, and the worst thing were the birria tacos. I've had birria from Tacos Mexico, Papa Nachos, Sí Señor, Juans and Plaza Azteca. Unfortunately this place has the weakest and blandest birria around. I've never had birria served in oversized corn tortillas. Needless to say I dont recommend Birria in this place.

They're grill game is over the top, the Margaritas are a must and they're portions are huge.

Delicious food, great service, and a wonderful atmosphere.

The menu was great, and had tons of meals to pick from.

And the white sauce may have been the BEST white sauce I've EVER tried.

Good food, fun and excited atmosphere. Love the interior design and the waitor is really helpful and wonderful with kid. The food was great and good presentation.

If we are talking price, it's fair if we are talking quality it's the best in the area, in my opinion. Margaritas are hand-made in front of you and not premixed like other restaurants. Their specials are always good and they have a great ambiance. I'm very picky when it comes to Mexican, and I can say they consistently impressed me

I read a few reviews and must say that our experience echos them. The finest food served in less than 10 mins right at the busiest dinner hour. Raul was very attentive yet every staff member that pass by, stopped to ask if we needed anything. I've never experience such team work at a restaurant- most waiters are focused solely on there section at other restaurants NOT HERE - EVERYONE IS PLEASANT AND READY TO HELP SERVE YOU.

We came here for a trip to Bush Gardens and stopped here for dinner. The food was sooooo good. It came at fast and was delicious. I would definitely remind this place to everyone.

Our service tonight was exceptional. We were celebrating a friend's graduation and our server was very attentive. I don't know if it was just me or the food was just phenomenal. The drinks were on point and there was very little weight in between him taking out drink orders and our food orders. They were even accommodating when we had to switch from a smaller table to a larger table. And we're already plotting our next trip to Jose tequilas.

My experience with Jose Tequila's was alright. The service was ok. Entering the restaurant the Hotess was not friendly she was folding kids menus when we walked up. We patiently waited on her to finish folding before I had to say hello.Then with attitude she seated us. The waiter came over promptly and asked us what we wanted to drink. In no time our drinks arrived and we were ready to order. Our order came out. I ordered the Fajita salad and and chicken bowl. The food tasted ok and it was nothing to right home about. I'm not sure if it was a bad lunch but they can do better............
Second visit: This time around I came with my friends and family. The experience was a little different. The service was quick. We were checked on and our cups were refilled promptly. Our waiter worked really hard. I can't remember his name but shout to him. I kept calling him Jose' lol. He answered to it. He was great. The food was fresh and fantastic the place was packed but the service did not lack. Kudos to the staff much better improvement. 👏

Fernando who works at the bar is the best! He has a great personality and always is in a cheerful mood. I enjoy coming to the bar and talking with everyone. The staff is so friendly. They are more like family! Thank you everyone who works here. Thank you!

Decided to update my review my husband comes here at least once a week if not more. I told him they should just have a bed for him in the back. My daughter and I also love to come here we just don't come as much as he does.

We come here about once a week. Not only are the servers great but the management is the greatest. The food is always good. The flaming fajitas are so cool. Even the dessert is so different. We love Mexican food but now this is the only restaurant we eat at now.
