Lovely old library mood for antiquarian browsing for book lovers. We felt like we stepped into a charming, LARGE bookshop in Oxford, England. The owners are extraordinarily gentle, kind, and helpful. The shelves are very well-organized so that you may stop in for a minute and search for just a specific writing, but there are also SHELVES UPON SHELVES of treasures that makes this a day or half-day destination for those who love books. Utterly delightful, peaceful, and rich. ANGLOPHILE AND BIBLIOPHILE'S DELIGHT. And worth quite a drive if you are at a distance. Treasures to be found in every price range, too, which is pleasing. We delayed going due to their heavy focus on history and old maps, but are so glad we went as they have MANY old fiction books, also, a great selection of naturalists, and an extensive vintage children's collection. Plus a lot of engaging oddities that defy category. : -)

This is a lovely antique bookstore packed with every book imaginable. I was unable to find the book I went in for but that didn't stop the folks at Lighthouse. While I went on with my day, they continued the search, found the book, and called me to let me know within an hour from when I'd left there. Excellent experience!

One of the best secret finds in the Tampa Bay area. I love that they appreciate and sell so many old books. Tons on history, a good amount on Florida which was cool to see. I even found other countries history books. Also a lot of older literature books. Books that date back to the 1800s but they may have some even older. I cannot emphasize enough on how fairly priced everything was. They also have old maps and a children's section of course. This place is like looking through a treasure trove of books. This is now in my top 5 places in Florida. Take a little day trip out to this small quiet town, stop in to get a book and then find a little cafe to sit and read.

A wonderful place run by wonderful people! I brought my dad as part of a road trip through Florida. We went in looking for Carl Hiaasen and found so much more! Plenty of first editions, signed, antique, and more modern works. Will be back whenever we are in the area 😊

This place is legit! A pure and refined experience of book rarities. The proprietor is a true expert of the trade. His knowledge-base of antiques and collectibles is extraordinary. The store is a wonderful place to visit for anyone who loves books. But, specifically, Lighthouse Books is perfect for the affable auteur, the easygoing esoteric, the chummy connoisseur, the very jovial virtuoso, the amiable aficionado, and/or the silly savant. These are the small gems in our world that still inspire wonder.

Brought my home schooled son here. He enjoyed the large selection of vintage books. Prices are reasonable. Clean and neat.

I have been there several times and this is a GREAT book store specializing in old books on history, biographies and fiction. Prices are reasonable. I have always found something I’m interested in owning. Also very polite.

It's a beautiful little book store. Quite a variety of wonderful books. Everything seems to be reasonably priced for the item. The gentleman was very knowledgeable of the books I took there to be appraised. Everyone taking health precautions with mask and hand sanitizer. I was very impressed with this adorable little book store, just off the beaten path. If you are an avid reader, or collector, go check out this store.

I think this is the best bookstore I've been to. The owner (Michael) was very kind and helpful. My mom and I were looking for totally different things and both walked away with an armful of reasonably priced books. Highly recommend stopping in just to browse or if you're looking for a particular subject matter.

Awesome store, extremely helpful, kind owner. Great collection of Americana, Florida's history, books about books, and much more. Store location is in a quiet part of Dade City. I didn't find a restaurant to eat at that was nearby, so maybe eat before you go (or search harder than I did)!

This rare books dealer is located in downtown historic Dade City just behind the 7th Street main drag. Shady, free, off street parking spaces face the entrance. The owner has a small business filled with rare and historical books of all genres. He is the real deal when it comes to knowing rare books. I visited him with my friend who had a set of rare books from the 1800s that she wanted to know the value of. He was very frank (in a kind way) about this particular set's value and what he would try to sell it for versus what he would actually pay to bring it into his inventory. Books that require repair, of course, aren't going to be purchased for very much because of the costs associated with repair and adding in his mark up. He was very fair with his assessment and generally doesn't charge to take a look at people's rare books for them. I browsed thru some of his books on the shelves while he and my friend were looking at her books, and it was amazing to see what people were writing about 100 and 200 years ago. If rare books interest you or you have a rare book that you would like to sell, give him a visit. You won't be sorry.

I absolutely adore antique leather bound books, but could never find a place that was reasonably priced until I found lighthouse. Not only do they carry rare finds, their prices aren't bad either. Not to mention they are some of the sweetest people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.

The place was as nice his wife's place at Big top flea market. I can't wait to go back. I know I can order books on line or go to a store to buy new. Everyone has there reasons. I personally love used books. My problem is I don't like to get rid of my books when I finish them. Love the new place.

A bibliophile's delight. Crammed full and varied in subject, rareness and age. Always pleasant owners, come to browse, buy, or read. This store is an important part of preserving, exploring and discovering our past.
