What a great spot. The ambiance and decor are awesome we enjoyed some great drinks on the rooftop while we waited for our reservation. The staff was friendly and attentive.
I know the menu changes but I definitely recommend the pork Caesar salad, the stacked prosciutto was a disappointment as it was so little and not worth the price and definitely not what I pictured. For main course we wanted to try the Veal tomahawk but they were sold out so I went with the Thai Bouillabaisse and it did not disappoint.
Overall great spot can’t wait to go back again

Ignore any ratings below 5 stars. Sage is phenomenal - amazing food, great wine list, excellent service & the ambiance was stupendous. We started on the roof deck for drinks and then made our way downstairs for dinner. Live jazz on the roof and a solo guitarist downstairs. I wanted everything on the menu but couldn’t skip the Foie Gras and the Black Cod.

Sage was the best restaurant we ate at during our stay in SRQ and it notched out higher ranked spots. The crazy thing is, I would’ve never eaten here based on its ratings, it was only by accident that we walked by and saw the menu.

Amazing meal and experience! We both got the Harrissa Bison Brisket and loved every bite. Chef Brett came out to our table and introduced himself when bringing us the Octopus appetizer which was delicious, light, and a perfect start to our evening. We ended the night with a Salted Caramel Martini and the Banana Pudding dessert which was the perfect sharing size for two. Cannot wait to see the next seasonal menu!

The lobster soup is interesting and quite good. The bison briscet is a little tough but carefully prepared. Definitely try the cocktails. especially summer cocktails. If you come to Sarasota, you can come here for a dinner. You will be very happy with the ambiance , decor and service.

Restaurant located in a beautiful Downtown Sarasota but don’t worry about parking lot they provide valet parking. Fantastic old building with a modern classy decor. There is also rooftop bar. Servers are very attentive but also can answer all the questions about food. The menu is very unique and they change it every few months. The food is not even delicious it’s outstanding it’s a poetry it’s finesse of flavors. We tried Branzino with roasted zucchini, Harissa Bison brisket and Thai bouillabaisse with fresh seafood. For dessert we tried secret garden, pavlova. Absolutely recommended place

I’ve been to Sage a few times now and each time has been incredible. For starters, Sage is located in a historic building downtown with a remarkable atmosphere. It’s perfect for a variety of settings such as dates, business dinners, and gatherings with friends.

The service at Sage is always top notch. You can tell that the staff take great pride in the restaurant and are happy to take time to explain every menu item.

The menu changes seasonally which I love because it allows the Chef to use the best seasonal ingredients and there is always something new to look forward to. The myriad of flavors and textures with each dish always compliment each other extremely well.

After dinner don’t miss a visit to the rooftop bar which is such a fun spot! They often have live music and the bartenders are wonderful. There are two other rooftop bars nearby but this one is a favorite of mine because it has such a nice ambience.

I greatly look forward to my next visit to Sage!

Exceptional experience having dinner in a historic building that was once the Sarasota Herald Tribune. The atmosphere was historic and upscale. The food was over the top with our desert having a piece of actual gold leaf to highlight the amazing food. This is a special place for special occasions. Highly recommend!

Absolutely Amazing place! From the moment you walk in you'll enjoy a modern setting with a small seating area, awesome bar, and great staff. Take the elevator up to the 4th floor for an outdoor rooftop bar that has a completely different drink menu, tables, and space heaters. Our meal was fantastic! Anything great takes time to prep so this is not the place if you want to be in and out in 45min. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the seasonal menu change is our favorite part. Inside bar menu has amazing craft cocktails. Cass our server was so knowledgeable and just amazing as you could tell she wanted to be at work. A+ in my book and will absolutely be making this a regular stop for us.

I love this place so much. It’s a historical building and so beautifully decorated! The food is 10/10 honestly I haven’t had anything here I didn’t like. Everything is sourced correctly and cared for and the staff is really nice. They have live music a lot too and it’s just an amazing space

The food was perfect and delicious. The service was professional and waitress was attentive. The atmosphere was perfect for a family, romantic evening, or after hours business meeting.

I started with the Apple-Pear-Prosciutto Stack with Sage, Pistachio Butter and Parmigiano Reggiano! Mouthwatering blend of fresh, sweet and savory flavor that increased my anticipation for the next course.

I followed this with the Smoked Veal Tomahawk, Spiced Apple Chutney and Thyme-Infused Potatoes Au Gratin. The veal chop was cooked to perfection and the sides complemented it with enhanced fall flavors and warm, herby potatoes.

We finished off dinner sharing the Goat Cheese Cheesecake with Honey Orange Marmalade, Candied Pecans and Rosemary Apricot Financier. Just delicious!

I highly recommend at least one visit if you are in the Sarasota area to enjoy a dinner that offers the best meal, service and atmosphere for those “I need the full experience” dining moments.

Sage - Fantastic good and stellar staff
Recommend by shop clerk at Ritz gift store
We went for a pre-dinner drink at Sage’s rooftop bar but we were hot so decided to go the inside bar instead. Very cool building (former newspaper headquarters?). Decor and ambiance are very well done (see pic of wall art).
We had an 8pm reservation. Upon checking in, they had our server Tim, bring us to our table (nice touch). We ordered cocktails (I had a glass of cava which was terrific and reasonably priced).
Amuse bushe “gift from the chef” was a potato chip with an aioli spread that was delicious!
We couldn’t decide on what to order, everything sounded so good but in the end, we ended up ordering most of the apps in the menu (I wanted to order ALL of them but my wife talked some sense into me).
We started with the carrot ginger soup with wasabi crème fraiche which was delicious.
Next, my wife had the foie gras with curried apricot puff pastry, which was served with brown butter gelato, carmel and toasted pecans - it was fabulous but more on this in a minute. I had the elk carpaccio with kumquat mostarda - sooo good!
We then shared the truffle tortellini - again, this was outstanding.
We were getting full after all these apps but for dessert- we got another order of the foie gras!! Perfect!!
As fabulous as the food was, I have to say that the staff - lead that night by Skyler, is incredibly, impeccably trained and attentive.
We’ve been fortunate to dine at a number of highly rated restaurants around the world. IMHO the Michelin Guide folks need to visit southwest Florida because Sage is as good or better than most of the 2-3 star restaurants we’ve been too.
My wife and I give Sage our highest recommendation and praise. Well done!! We can’t wait to return.

A must visit if you're in Sarasota.
Valet parking makes it easy.
The rooftop bar is too hot for the summer but they have another inside with some great mixology creations.
The menu changes quarterly and it's awesome.
One suggestion to the chef would be to add side bread to the bouillabaisse seafood dish that always stays in the menu. That wonderful sauce cannot be wasted 😋.
Enjoy

Our server amazingly put up, and played into, our shenanigans. She is the best.

The food was out of this world! Photos attached.

Ambiance was very lovely; aesthetics are a blend of rustic elegance with a sprank of modernity.

The rooftop! Oh the rooftop. Once the only rooftop bar in Sarasota, it is now the most cozy; being surrounded by the taller more contemporary buildings with their own rooftop bar. But that’s what makes this one special! At night, It really does feel like a warm hug, that is encircling you with the twinkling lights of The City.

On this night, there were two musicians, a looper guitarist in the main dining hall and an electric violinist on the rooftop. A joy to listen to and nice touch to each place’s atmosphere.

The price is about what you’d expect from a fine dining venue; well worth it to us.

Parking wasn’t accessible but thankful for complimentary valet! The atmosphere was truly wonderful. Live music but soft enough i could enjoy the instruments, song, and my conversation. The lighting was soft but not dark. There were stairs and an elevator which I found inclusive and a door off the front entrance for those unable to take the steps as well. Service was top notch, friendly, informative, and attentive. I wish I had taken pictures. Beautiful art was displayed throughout. Even the bathrooms were designed well.

We haven’t been here since it was reopened from Ceviche’s and we were greatly impressed. The decor and atmosphere is lovely. The service was excellent. Cassie was very thorough and nice. I had Caesar Salad and Snapper, while my husband had the Mushroom pastry and Monkfish. All of the food was so delicious and perfectly seasoned. We highly recommend.

My pictures do not do this food or atmosphere justice. This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was beautifully crafted and the flavors were absolutely amazing, and the setting was fantastic! Our meal started with a pickled peach salad that was so fresh and delicious with flavors of fresh basil, a hint of spice and Boursin cheese. For my main course, I had the grilled Spanish octopus dish served on crunchy farro and pickled watermelon. For dessert, our table shared the blueberry cobbler, Champagne infused watermelon, strawberry shortcake and crème brûlée. They were all amazing, and our favorite was the champagne infused mango. The presentation was stunning! To end the evening, we went to the rooftop bar and listened to live music. On a scale of 1-10, I would give this restaurant a 10!

This review is for overall experience. I've been here a few times before. Not sure why I didn't leave a review. The ambiance is hands down amazing, kind of reminds me of New York City or Chicago. They have live music and the music tonight was definitely a groove that fit the atmosphere, she was amazing! The tastes were really great but I was a little disappointed with the meat I think I would have preferred a filet with a little more adventurous topping. The dessert menu is lacking it could be a bit more adventurous! I also felt like there could have been a better wine list, more extensive for the venue. But overall I would definitely go back, I felt like it was a fun atmosphere and creative cuisine and the server was lovely, also they have valet which is wonderful. It's a really unique downtown spot that I wouldn't miss! Definitely a place to check out.

One of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in the US in recent years. First, the drinks were a delicacy. I had an espresso martini with their vanilla vodka and a Pina Azteca, which had homemade fermented pineapple. Between the pork chop tomahawk, tender bison short rib and bouillabaisse, the entrees hit every part of deliciousness. Topping it off with the beyond s’mores and pumpkin cream brûlée, I’ll left extremely satisfied. The waitress and bartender were awesome as well.
