Amazing hospital. Had An amazing ER doctor who ordered the right tests and diagnosed a serious illness quickly. Got me admitted and into surgery with a specialist very quickly. ICU staff was amazing. Special shout out to nurse Mark. Dr Mayer with neuro surgery was amazing and compassionate. The entire experience here was outstanding. Feel very thankful to have landed in the right hospital.

I had a small procedure done a few months ago. The overall process was very civilized for both myself and my wife who accompanied me. From check-in to the wonderful departure lounge, and the waiting room in between, all was an exceptional experience. T he only negative I had was when I had to go for pre-op testing and paperwork for my procedure, the billing department was looking for my balance due payment that insurance didn't cover before I had the procedure. I understand its difficult to try to collect after the fact, but I am not accustomed to paying for services like this in advance

I don't know if anyone in this hospital remembers me, Jeffrey Marlow? I was being wheeled down a hallway in a gurney on my birthday, August 28, 2023 with hospital staff telling me Happy birthday and asking me what was the last thing I remember. I was in ICU for about two weeks then recovery for about two weeks. My body was all purple when I arrived from Arcadia where I used to live.
The nurses were wonderful and I'm sorry that I had to keep calling them on the nurses call button but I was out of it most of the time I was there. Half the time I think I was hallucinating because of my injuries. I was on dialysis for about two weeks until my kidneys started to function again. I was bedridden the whole time I was there. I just wanted to let the staff there know if any of them remembered me that I am in Clewiston Nursing home in Clewiston, Florida and that I am doing much better and I am walking now using a walker from therapy here. A lot has happened to me since August 28, 2023 but I wanted to let the nurses at Sarasota Memorial Hospital know that I am doing better than I was when I woke up being rolled down a hallway in a gurney that first day.

I was a patient at SMH in August of 2023, and was hospitalized for 2.5 days. I received a correspondence from my insurance carrier that my claim was being denied, and that my responsibility would be upwards of $60,000. I contacted the SMH billing Team immediately, and spoke with Nancy. She was very helpful, and advised me not to worry until I received a bill from SMH. The billing team did a phenomenal job, and continuously resubmitted and appealed my claim numerous times. The patient responsibility went from $60,000 to $15,000 to over $8,000, and finally, to $0, when the full amount was covered by my insurance carrier. I am so grateful to the SMH Billing Team for all of the work they did to get my claim approved. Thank you!! -Sarah Alper

I just had a wonderful experience at the Sarasota Memorial Hospital Emergency Department on Christmas Day. Everyone was SO nice and SO competent including Davina Annis, PA-C, nurse Bryant and x-ray tech Mike. I had no wait to be seen and the process moved a long at an impressive pace. Facilities were spotless. I could not ask for more from a Hospital!

I had to get transferred to this hospital to have my baby boy and am so so so grateful to all the nurses on the labor and delivery unit and postpartum unit . I couldn’t have had a better experience then I did at this hospital EVERY single nurse was efficient and CARING and Alexis on the labor and delivery unit definitely stuck out for her compassion along with dr.salter who did my c section as well as all the anesthesiologist they were all amazing!

My labor and delivery experience at SMH was better than I could have imagined. My L&D nurses Karissa and Sarah, I will forever be thankful for. They were incredible! We ended up staying over 3 days in the baby mother unit, Cindy and Heidi went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. Everything from great bedside manners to keeping the room clean, drinks always filled. Not only these ladies but EVERYONE we came in contact with was so kind and caring between both floors. Overall great experience

I had my here and can not image having a better L&D experience. The entire staff was phenomenal. Attentive, patient, and completely dialed in. I felt heard, understood and well taken care of the entire time. And I am blown away by the availability of postpartum resources.
Can’t thank this hospital enough for helping my baby into the world with all the best vibes and for taking such wonderful care of me I could focus on caring for her :)

Just the best hospital experience and stay anyone could ask for. Professional, hard working, kind, responsive. We are so lucky to have this hospital and staff near by.

My late husband was in ICU, and several other times at SMH in 2019,2020,2021 for traumatic brain injury from a bad fall on our driveway. SMH took great care of him. He also had pacemaker and catheter surgery after his fall. He was very healthy before his fall.
Everyone there cares. Always answered my questions in person or over the phone. Great ICU unit. I have 2 hospitals only 15 min away but I rather drive 45 min and know it’s the best care. Thank you SMH for always taking care of my husband Jack, several times.

SMH provided excellent care but the nursing home you sent him to for rehab in North Port, FL killed him due to negligence. These SNF’s get away with murder. Even with all the evidence I had, the lawyer didn’t want to take the case. Too complicated 😡 Do not go to North Port Rehab and Nursing. SMH do not send anyone there. Do your research. He never received the rehab. They hoyer lifted him, instead of walking him. The rehab room was used for storage ☹ the nursing home made sure he would never leave. $10,000 a mth.
My husband should have stayed at SMH for rehab. Prob would be alive today. Jack passed away Sept 2021 😢

SMH surgical center was excellent. They made my experience hassel and pain free. They kept my wife informed and guided her to where she needed to be before during and after my surgery. If you need to have a surgery done I would highly recommend SMH.

One of the best hospitals that I have ever been able to go too, the staff, the nurses and the trauma Dr was perfect with my emergency visit today they took care of my problem in the utmost importance for me, . Thank you everyone 💓 who took care of you 💯👌🫶🙏

Probably the best doctor I’ve ever seen, Dr. Berry and my ER nurse, Melissa was amazing! Great bedside manners, both of them! No problem ever coming back!

My wife was in tremendous and amount pain from kidney stone and surgery she had performed that she thought that would've be out of pain, when she woke up no, I was referred by a nurse at shore Point to go to Sarasota memorial hospital..thanks again for helping my wife Crystal get better

I spent a week in this hospital around Thanksgiving last year. The Doctors and Nurses were outstanding and provided me with excellent care. Thank you and thank God for saving my life 🙏🏻👩🏻‍⚕👨🏻‍⚕

Outstanding experience as Sarasota Memorial rehab facility

I checked into Sarasota Hospital I had a neurologist visit as he was concerned with an impingement and a nerve in my spine.

Amazingly within 24 hours they ran several tests and I was fortunate they had a spine specialist available the next morning to address and resolve the nerve impingement, which is causing my leg week and unable to hold me up

The surgery took place in 24 hours at Sarasota Memorial Hospital after which was transferred to the Sarasota Hospital’s onsite rehab facility

The level of support, by their medical staff and the physical and occupational therapy folks was impressive

At the spending two weeks there with daily therapy and amazing caring from the staff I was released and sent home

The quality of care I received at all levels within the hospital and rehab facility was top-notch.

Could not be more pleased with the breadth of services available right here in my backyard here in Sarasota, FL

Also, appreciate the wonderful support from Dr. Knego our neurologist who was able to get me into the hospital very quickly and my primary doctor Brad Lerner and his associates who orchestrated the entire process, believe it or not, while he was on vacation in Europe!

My recovery thus far has exceeded my expectations .

So pleased with the quality of the medical staff and the support staff at Sarasota Memorial rehab facility. Everyone at every level was professional, caring, and truly so fortunate that I was able to have my spine surgery and recovery there.

I had the best of care at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The staff in the orthopedics unit are all talented professionals and did their best to find out what was wrong with me. After 15 days in the hospital things became very blurry and some days are completely lost from my mind. I have never been challenged with anything harder in my 50 years. I have now completed 3 of 42 treatments to kill the bacteria that invaded my spine. I am going to leave a review later about how great of a cheeseburger they have!!! No joke... Delicious

Great place if you’re in the area and need to visit a hospital. The staff is extremely nice and they seem like they care for your well being. The facility is well kept and the location is right in Sarasota. Great waiting rooms that are well stocked with literature and even puzzles!
