Chef Mike Jamaican Bar & Grill

First time going here was a Friday night around 8 pm and I’ll definitely be back! The place is very spacious if you’re looking to social distance and it’s very clean. They have the daily specials listed when you walk in.

We ordered the snapper escovitch and the jerk chicken. Our sides were rice and peas, collards and cabbage. The escovitch was more of a gravy vs. a pickle vinegar style but it was still delicious. The spice level was perfect for me! We got a sorrel (homemade) as well and twas delicious!

We will definitely be back. I’m ready to try their curry goat and plantain. They’re open everyday which I love! I’m happy to have more small business options in the area :)

The food is amazing! I will post a picture of my plate below. I ordered the Lunch special jerk chicken, and my plate was LOADED. They have 2 different lunch sizes I believe the small is $10 and the large is $15. My bag was heavy. The jerk chicken was so juicy, moist and falling off of the bone. I didn't even need any jerk sauce nor did I need any BBQ sauce. Everything was hot and fresh. Oh and Mike was the one cooking and serving. He hooked me up! I had enough for to share with 2 of my coworkers. I will deff be going back.

first time here, found this place on Google. it’s hard to find a GOOD Jamaican restaurant with good sauce and flavor at the same time. this place is so good!! the owner is really nice. next time ill get more sauce but this is my new fav place.

This is no less than 5 stars. Food with amazing flavor, great hospitality and a chef who loves what he is doing. 35 years in this industry, Chef Mike has poured his heart and soul into his recipes.

I really enjoyed this place here in the forest park area. I have been here twice and plan on going back for a third time. The first time i went i had the curry goat which was a small portation but well worth it. The second i went i chose the curry chicken to try some something different. Trust me i wasnt disappointed in my choice. The meat was very tender which is the way i like it. My drink was pineapple with ginger which was a good drink to me. He also has seamoss which cleans your system i recommend that. Another thing i enjoyed about this place is he lets you sample the food so you know what u getting in to ahead of time. Try the soup there also you cannot go wrong at all. Small restaurant and worth every dollar spent. Love the music thats playing and you dont have to worry about being rushed with eating ever. Good thing is they open daily which makes it more better. I usually go on sundays after work. Worth every dollar spent.

Omg! This is food is absolutely delicious! I had the jerk chicken special and it came with cornbread! I’m so mad I didn’t get another cornbread! All of it was THAT good! Please check out this place. You won’t regret it!

10/10 highly recommend. Food amazing. Ambiance amazing. We went early so it was empty but we absolutely enjoyed it.

Chef Mike is The Truth!! If You Haven't tried this place you better!! Me and my husband got the lunch special which was Curry chicken, rice with the cabbages and my husband had the jerk chicken, rice with the cabbages it was the Bomb!! Chef Mike has superb customer service!! Try this spot you want be disappointed

Food was very very well prepared. The Red Snapper was fantastic. The fresh made juice was something I can drink daily. If they are there when I come to Atlanta again I will stop by again.

Authentic Jamaican food! I haven’t had a better meal or exceptional service in a long time. Super friendly and super fast! Curry or jerk sauce is great and the chicken just falls apart! Also get the house made punch!

So let me just say....I am a foodie. I have been to Florida and New York and have tried "authentic" Jamaican food. My husband is Jamaican and his family can thrown down! Well they live in New York. So I try to feed the craving when I can. I came across this little gem. And I was so pleased. It was as if I was back at my in laws. The food was so good!!! I ordered the curry chicken plate with cabbage, the brown stew chicken plate with candied yams, curry goat plate with cabbage and a deluxe veggie plate (cabbage,greens, rice and peas and plantains). I also had homemade natural pineapple ginger juice and seamoss juice and a smoothie. (Dont judge...family of 7) First let me say the food had all the flavor and none of the excess salt. It was delicious. The portions were a nice size. The meats were tender and let me mention this is the first time I have ordered curry goat and it wasn't full of bones! That in itself is a plus. The cabbage was cooked perfectly along with the greens. Rice and peas were not dried out with good flavor and the plantains were great. My only dislike were the yams. The flavor was bit too strong. Idk if it was vanilla extract or something else but we didn't care for it. But.... The redemption was the jerk👏🏽chicken👏🏽eggroll👏🏽!!!! Let me just say this alone will have me coming back. I have never seen this on anyone's menu but he has created a hitter!!! The smoothie was good and the homemade juices are delicious. Thanks for the taste test.😉 I highly recommend this place. The atmosphere was nice, the owner is personable and the young lady was sweet.

My first time here and the food was amazing. Definitely should have taken 100 of the egg rolls. The mashed potatoes the chicken. Everybite was perfect. Im soo glad i got to experience this place. 10/10 100%recommend. Will come back when im in town.

Absolutely MASSIVE portion sizes of absolutely amazing food. I got the jerk chicken, at least a pound of chicken the to go box could barely close. Cornbread was simply wonderful

Amazing cuisine! The oxtails were so tender! We will come back again. The jerk chicken fell off the bone! Oh my! So good!

Visiting from out of town and the restaurant came highly recommended and they did not disappoint. Will visit again.

Chef Mike experience was benevolent, incredible and delicious! Hospitality was very special.
