I’ve been a member of TCBC for nearly 5 years. I’m the strongest I’ve ever been & have been able to physically & mentally challenge myself in ways I never thought I could. There is no comparison that goes on; everyone’s program is tailored to their individual needs, personality, & abilities. There is a sense of camaraderie & people cheer each others’ accomplishments . Tim’s expertise, professionalism, and dedication are unmatched. And it shows in members’ progress & confidence. Tim & Amanda are genuine, hardworking small business owners that truly care about what they do & the people they serve. That is hard to find in the world today. I have considered it a privilege to be a member, not just making progress physically, but getting to be a part of a caring community.

I started at the Tri-City Barbell Club 3 years ago and have always been impressed by Tim's dedication and consideration of his clients. I had a back injury from work (I am a nurse) that wasn't healing even after 2 years of taking advice from physical therapists and chiropractic care. With Tim's coaching and encouragement my back pain was relieved after 6 months of strength training! Tim's gym has been a safe place to work toward strength goals I never thought possible. As a nurse I have a crazy work schedule and Tim and Amanda have always been accommodating, making sure I can get my training sessions in. I know I am pretty much a weakling compared to other members, but the great thing about Tim's programming is that he individualizes each person's training, so my only competition is myself. Tim is patient and extremely knowledgeable. He has coached me through illness recovery and work burnout, and I am stronger than I have ever been and proud of my accomplishments. Further, Tim and Amanda are truly genuine and caring people. They are generous and compassionate and the Tri-City Barbell Club is a must-try for anyone looking to overcome chronic injury, increase strength, and improve their health!

This is the best gym I’ve ever attended; safe, clean, and clear in instruction. Tim is professional, courteous and encouraging in his approach to coaching. He is one of the best coaches I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with and, if I can swing it, one day he will be my kids strength coach when they are old enough.
10/10, would recommend!!!

When I started at TCBC I felt fat, weak, and lonely.
One year later and I feel none of those things. 5 Stars.
I lost 35 lbs, dropped 8 inches off my waist, got way stronger, and found a community of great people. All I did was show up with a good attitude and do what Tim says.
Finally, Tim and Amanda have been super great during these crazy COVID times. They really prioritize the safety, health, and fitness goals of their members.

My husband and I started at TCBC the day after moving to the Tri-Cities area about a year ago, with some generic goals of getting stronger and staying fit as we headed into our 30’s. I can’t overstate how much we love training at TCBC and the coaching from Tim and Amanda, it’s our favorite thing about living in the Tri-Cities.
I had a little experience with (un-coached) weightlifting before starting at TCBC, but never had any guidance beyond training with a friend who had already been doing it for several years, using free programming from the internet. My experience at TCBC has been world’s apart from that. I joined TCBC about 5 years after I stopped weightlifting on my own. In 6 months of training with Tim, I was easily surpassing weights that it took 2 years of training on my own to reach.
I became pregnant a few months after joining TCBC. Tim provided top-notch coaching for me throughout my pregnancy, making adjustments to ensure all lifts were safe and comfortable for me. Even with my doctor’s assurance that it was the healthy choice for me to continue lifting, I would not have had the confidence to train while pregnant without Tim and Amanda’s coaching, guidance, and advice. I was able to continue making strength gains well into my 3rd trimester, and had a very smooth return to physical activity and lifting after delivery. Every pregnancy is different, but I attribute a lot of my easy recovery to being able to train through pregnancy.
On top of all of this, the communication and support from Tim and Amanda during the state-mandated business closures due to COVID-19 are unparalleled. While we haven’t been able to go in to the gym, they have continued to provide members with individualized week-by-week training plans, tailored to whatever equipment we have access to at home. These guys are truly dedicated to helping members reach their strength goals!
TCBC is better than any regular gym or fitness class — you get an individualized training program that’s tailored to your needs and goals. It’s better than a personal trainer — you get as much coaching time as your training requires, backed by Tim and Amanda’s extensive education and experience. And you still get the fun and accountability of working out with friends — TCBC members are the best. If you want to get strong, this is how you do it.

Over the years I have lifted weights by myself and was never really sure if I was using proper form, which worried me because I didn't want to hurt myself. When I looked up local gyms, what stood out to me was the coaching that comes with a membership at Tri-City Barbell Club. One lift that I was afraid of was the barbell deadlift, however, with proper coaching from Tim I am now able to deadlift over twice my body weight. I have been able to make significant progress in my fitness goals in a more intelligent way because of the coaching. This gym has been great for my wife and I would recommend this gym to anyone who wants to gain strength and live a healthier life.
