Thig's BBQ House

They had lumpia and smoked brisket on special. We got both and we’re very pleased! Their sweet chili sauce was so delicious. My kids devoured the catfish, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Make sure you get the sweet potato casserole side, if they have it. It is the perfect dessert! The coleslaw is sweet and chopped thin, just like I love it! Also loved that they brought hush puppies out right away after we sat down. We will be back.

Great food!!! Great atmosphere and excellent service!!! Meagan is the most friendly waitress I have ever encountered!! The manager saw me down the road and invited a coworker and I to come by and give them a try. I have to honestly say this place is the epitome of perfection on a plate with a lovely small town feel yo top it all off! All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. We saw one of the cooks coming out of the back and even he was in a great mood and talked with us like we were all old friends. Ill definitely be back very soon!

If you want true North Carolina BBQ you have to stop at Thig's. They have been doing bbq right for over 30 years. They have amazing burgers fries and sides on top of their delicious bbq. Try an appetizer and try to save room for dessert. The service was amazing and they try to make sure everything about your visit is perfect.

Great food, super clean restaurant, friendly staff. Got my lunch order quickly. My only issue is that I have a shellfish allergy (I won't die, but my digestive tract will make me wish I had). The fries are cooked in the same oil as the shrimp, which is enough to do me in. Just something to be aware of if you have similar problems, and not totally unexpected when dining near the coast. My server was quick to point out other sides that I could have that would be safe.
I wound up getting a double order of Mac-n-cheese which was delicious, as were the ribs. The bbq sauce was some of the best I've ever had and had a unique flavor I could not quite identify. It was vinegar based with a sweet flavor, just a touch of a heat and some other indescribable quality (some may say it's love, but I prefer to believe it to be the taste of pure envy of every pitmaster in a 30 mile radius).
I was not able to try the hush puppies due to the shellfish problem, but they looked delicious.

Tonight my wife and I simply didn't feel like cooking. Since both of us had eaten at Thig's before this restaurant before its renovation due to a fire, and it was close to home we decided to eat there. We both had to get boxes due to the amount of food on our trays was alot more than we ate. I had flounder which was great. My wife had chicken nuggets which were very good. Odds are good we will probably eat there again. It was a worthwhile visit without any detrimental remarks necessary.

First time I've been at Thig's was on a date with my wife about 7 years ago before the original structure burnt down. Second time was today and we enjoyed our food! I had the catfish and my wife had the brisket. The hushpuppies that were given to us as a complimentary starter were very tasty and sweet!

Well worth the trip! Haven't had Carolina BBQ in years (hazard of living up north). Came down for work and noticed Thig's as I was leaving the airport. Came back to try their food. Pulled pork, baked beans, cole slaw, hush puppies and sweet tea. Oh, all so good. For dessert, waitress' voice raised when she said the Banana pudding. I now know why. Well worth the trip. And don't forget to try the fried green tomatoes

I had delicious fish. It was fried lightly with just the right amount of seasoning. I got 3 large pieces and could not finish the third piece! The slaw, French fries, and tea hit the spot. I did not have any after-taste (grease) from the fish. I recommend Thigs for good food and service. Their new establishment is beautiful!

We ordered the brisket plate with yams, baked beans and mac n cheese, everything came out quickly and was delicious. The hush puppies are a family favorite!!

Wow, great food. I typed in BBQ near me on my GPS while I was traveling and it sent me to this BBQ joint. Very good food and great service. Definitely 5 stars.

The best! Been going to Thigs for years, still can't wait for breakfast again IYKYK! Went for dinner with my team this afternoon and the food and service were great! We had about 16 in our party. Love supporting such an awesome local spot!

Loved Thigs! We visited in 2019 and everything was great. Was very sad to hear about the fire then excited for y'all about the rebuild. We are moving to Nc from Ca mid November and are looking forward to visiting your establishment on a regular basis.

This is our go to BBQ place. We try other places, but they just never measure up. So glad you guys are open again and we can't wait to come back soon.

This place has been on my "want to go" list for a while and I finally get to mark it off.

Now I have to go back. Many, many times.

From the outside the place looks like a Texas roadside BBQ joint. Once inside you know it is a serious BBQ place. You will be greeted as soon as you are in the door. It is seat yourself at a choice of 10-12 booths or same amount of tables. The menu is a clipboard with 2 full pages of options. There are apps, sandwiches, plates, platters, sides and so so much for me to try.

Drinks are Pepsi products, coffee and tea. Sweet tea. That comes in a pitcher on your table. (Heaven better be like this.) We got our drinks pretty quick along with the required hush puppies and butter. After 2 bites my wife, hush puppy aficionado, named these the best ever. I couldnt argue. We also ordered fried pickles as an app. And placed our meal orders.
My wife ordered the smoked white meat chicken (breast & wing) with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. I ordered the smoked white meat chicken, pulled pork, boiled potatoes and cooked cabbage.

The server came over with what looked to be the sauce aisle from the store. We were given their chicken sauce (amazing), western NC sauce, ranch (for the pickles) and vinegar for my cabbage. The REAL sauce, eastern NC BBQ sauce, was already on the table.

The order of pickles was largest quantity we've ever received as an app. And it came with it's own sauce. Kind of a chipolte ranch that was beyond good.

All of the food was perfectly cooked and the chicken had the best smoked flavor. Then the sauce too, oh man. All of the sides were perfect and delicious. Even the cabbage was on point, not mushy like it can get. Everything was the best from the service to the food.

We were offered some banana pudding but I could barely breath much less eat any more. So I have to go back for the BBQ Nachos and banana pudding.

Had smoked brisket baked beans and fries. All very good. Banana pudding was great! Really like the fresh clean modern look.

So I am in town visiting my Son, Daughter In Law and new granddaughter and they eat here offer so they really wanted me to try it. So today we went and had lunch here before my flight home and the food was delicious and the staff was beyond good. I love a place that has good down home cooking and this place hit that on the head. I am looking forward to coming back and try more stuff on the menu on my next visit.

Check out these BBQ nachos from Thig's. We loved them! The chips are tortillas fried up fresh. I had them put brisket as the meat. The one improvement I would recommend to them is to shred the lettuce. My wife's burger was also excellent. A solid local BBQ spot.

Food was great! Visiting family members thought it was delicious, and that the fried chicken was one of the best they’ve had.

Me and my boyfriend love it here !!! We didn’t even give this place a chance until about last month .. Always rode pass on our way out of town but never stopped . So Glad we gave it a chance and now we can’t stop going FOOOOODDDDDD is AMAZZZZINGGGG And service is on the same level!! Good food and service is hard to come upon in Jacksonville but this place killed it ! Smoked chicken and ribs is to die for, it’s real barbecued food not none of the vinger mess ! Burgers taste just like you made them at home ! Wish we can give this place a thousand stars !! And very cheap ! For quality of food !

The fried chicken is off the chain. They make it fresh so it takes a while to prepare but it's so crispy and juicy it's definitely worth the wait. I'm not a big hush puppy kind of dude but these are like eating mini doughnuts. The BBQ pork wasn't my favorite but it has nice flavor and is recommend it way over Smithfield's bbq. The interior of the restaurant is roomy and well ventilated, and they have a big deflecting air blower at the door so no flies are gonna come with your meal lol.
