My husband and I had a very enjoyable and educational tour of the lake. Our guide, Sheryl, was very knowledgeable on a diversity of topics - lake history, Duke Energy operations and local ecology. She was personable and engaging.

The lake is beautiful with a mountainous backdrop and gorgeous waterfalls. I would highly recommend taking the tour. It’s worth every penny. (The sunny mid-80° weather was a bonus.)

We had a great time on our pontoon boat tour. The guide was very knowledgeable about the local history and the natural wildlife. She really got us up close and personal with several waterfalls, which was incredible! Lake Jocassee is truly beautiful and this is a great way to get out there and see different parts of the lake. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent! Lovely views all around lake Jocassee. The colors were beautiful when we were there but will probably just get better over the next couple weeks. Debra was a great captain. She was fun and shared lots of great information about the lake and the history around the lake. We will remember this trip fondly.

Jennifer was our tour guide for this exceptional tour of Jocassee. Her knowledge, kindness and spirit of adventure was such a blessing as we were celebrating a birthday in our group. She made the birthday girls day perfect!

There is so much history in this Lake and not taking this tour would be unfair to yourself. So if you are visiting the Upstate of SC be sure to set aside the 4 hours to enjoy a gem in our area.

Highly recommended going to Lake Jocassee and going on a tour! If you decide to go on a tour definitely ask for Zach Maddox because he was an awesome captain for our trip. We were able to see a few waterfalls, swim, and walk the small suspension bridge. I recommend you bring your water shoes if you want to walk around but they are not required.

This was the highlight of our vacation! Rocky was an amazing guide, perfect for a boatful of science lovers! We saw waterfalls you can only see from the lake, learned about the history of the area, got to swim under a waterfall, and watched a brave young man do some cliff diving!

Are you an aspiring citizen scientist? Do you want to make a positive impact on scientific research while being inspired by nature at the same time? Then I wholeheartedly recommend Jocassee Lake Tours Loon Research sessions. I have participated for four years now and I see and learn something new each time! Brooks & Kay Wade offer fantastic environmental experiences and the Loon Research sessions also offers proximity and access to some of the best Loon scientists in the country! (as well as a unique way to observe the birds)

Or if you are just looking for an inspiring day on the lake, JLT offers terrific boat tours and have guides that pride themselves on knowing the flora & fauna of Jocassee Gorges. You will not be disappointed.

My husband and daughter’s family gave me the most wonderful birthday cruise on Lake Jocassee. Our naturalist, Sheryl outdid herself as we listened to the history of this beautiful lake. We saw migratory Common Loons, gorgeous waterfalls, cascades and native plants. We even got to come up close and personal to the Oconee Bells rare wildflower that only blooms in this escarpment. This will definitely be a repeat adventure for us.

We had an AMAZING 3-hour tour today with our tour guide, Matt, and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. He is a young man who clearly has a very bright future ahead of him for sure. He was so knowledgeable about the lake and told us tons of great information and interesting things about the lake, got us to some fabulous spots for swimming and jumping off the rocks, seeing waterfalls and more. You could tell he genuinely loved being there too! He was not only amazing for us as adults, but he was also phenomenal with our kids (ages 12 and 7). He went above and beyond to give us a great tour of the beautiful sights and experiences to be had at the lake. We even got to see a bald eagle! The boat was great, and all of the people we encountered at this touring company were amazing really. From the gentleman that greeted us at the parking lot to the shuttle driver to the greeter at the dock - all efficient, friendly, and professional. Also Tim was who I booked with over the phone and he was so friendly and helpful! He gave me the first inkling of the great time we were in for, and then everyone we met today followed suit with amazing service. We cannot say enough good things about this company and we plan to return soon for another tour. We did the afternoon tour, but they also have a morning tour, sunset tour, and full moon tour.

This lake is the most beautiful one in the Carolinas we’ve ever seen for sure. The water is clear to where you can see your feet - a beautiful emerald green (similar to Pensacola Beach for anyone who knows it) - but freshwater. The waterfalls were stunning, and the rocks and trails were so fun! Just be careful because many of the rocks are slippery when you go in the trail areas.

Kids and adults alike will LOVE going on a tour with Jocassee Lake Tours. The gorgeous lake is surrounded by equally gorgeous mountains, and with this company serving you, you can’t go wrong. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for all ages!! Don’t forget to tip your shuttle drivers and your guide well!! They deserve it for such excellent service!!

Thank you to all that helped us have an awesome day on the lake today, especially our tour guide, Matt! Can’t wait to go back!!

This was a fantastic way to see the lake and learn about it and the surrounding area. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. Our tour guide, Zach, was knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining. He was able to answer our many questions regarding all things including wildlife, the engineering and purpose of various structures around the lake, the history and evolution of the area, and local sights to see. He tailored the tour to our interests, taking us to areas of the lake we haven't seen since we are staying on the lake. We even saw an eagle nest with a young eagle delivering needing materials which he pointed out, stopped, and let the children view through his binoculars. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the area, especially families with avoid nature loving kids!

Wonderful tour! They answered all questions and showed us many waterfalls. They even offered a chance to swim for anyone who wanted to brave the cold water.

I had an absolutely wonderful time on our boat tour! Incredible lake, incredible sites, and topped off with the best tour guide, Kay. She was so open to what the group wanted from touring around to just chilling in these little nooks across the lake. Can I give 6 stars? The chillest vibes ever for such a fun weekend at Devil's Fork State Park!

Our family had a wonderful day trip excursion with Captain Ric! He was very knowledgeable but made it so much fun for our boys! Seeing the lake and waterfalls by boat was a great experience while the swimming holes gave us time to cool off.

Our tour guides were extremely knowledgeable. I have traveled from NJ two times to see the lake, in July and November. I can't wait to do the kayak tour!!

My wife and I had a wonderful lake tour on Mother’s Day.
This adventure has been on our list of things to do for quite awhile.
Aside from the fabulous views of the surrounding mountains we were able to see some of the most beautiful waterfalls up close from our pontoon boat.
Our guide (Kerry) was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable about the history of the lake and surrounding areas. She taught us about the local, native flora and fauna. We never expected to learn so much during our tour.
This is a must see!
