Most authentic Italian place in all of Charleston. Couldn’t believe they had Cacio E Pepe on the menu. OUTSTANDING! byob of wine for $40 was totally worth it. Salad 👌🏻. Too full for dessert. This place is off the beaten trail but excellent!

My husband and I used to live in Charleston and would come here for special occasions. We specifically made a detour on our way home to Richmond to eat here. In the four years we've been gone somehow this place is even more amazing than I remember. Everything from the appetizer to the dessert has been thought out in terms of optimal flavor. The wait staff is an added bonus in making the experience even better. My only complaint is that they aren't close to home now.

Simply one of the best meals ever! They even made a Caeser Salad better than anywhere else! Johnathan was great! Will be be back for family style soon.

We were lucky walk ins and got a seat at the bar. The wines are great (Barolo, barbera etc) and the good is high quality! We had the beef carpaccio, the cacio e pepe (which was divine and so true to how amazing that dish is supposed to be) and the pork dish (slightly crusty pan fried, yummy). Best Italian in town!

What an amazing atmosphere! We had several salads and appetizers and none disapointed. Our table of 7 was handled easily by the efficient wait staff. Because we had a large table, we were able to sample each entree and they did not leave us anything but longing for more. The dessert selections were quite the treat to end the evening. Overall, an amazing experience and one we won't soon forget.

Phenomenal experience. Delicious wholesome food, we had an excellent waiter, and the chef accommodated for an allergy in our party which was something we weren't expecting but were very pleased with. I have nothing but praise to say about the food. There's no sense explaining. Just try it. You will like it.

Absolutely outstanding. Exceeded expectations. Italian to the core. Pasta made daily in house. Selective menu changed frequently. Imaginative, superbly cooked. Excellent collection of Italian wines, including reasonably priced ones. Well informed efficient service people. Lovely room with well-spaced tables with small bar and community table. A great experience in every way.

A memorable experience. It is one of the greatest restaurant I have visited in the entire east coast.
The freshness and quality of the ingredients is truly amazing. Homemade pasta and dessert are out of this world.
Service is attentive and professional.
It was a great pleasure being there.

This place was great. I haven't had good Italian in a while, so I really wanted to try this out. Parking was a little bit of a problem due to it being in the middle of a somewhat sketchy neighborhood - I'd recommend being out before dark. However, once inside, everything was perfect. The antipasti set-up is nice - it's sort of a select-what-you-want sampler of different vegetable, cheese, and meat dishes. For the price, you actually get a surprising amount of each dish. The pasta, later on, was amazing. I got a fusilli dish that was some of the best pasta I've ever had. I was only able to eat half of it because I wasn't very hungry, so I wasn't able to try any of the desserts, but I wish I could have. Also notable was the service, which was actually the best we had our entire stay in Charleston. This is definitely a restaurant to try. It's also surprisingly well-priced. Most pasta dishes are around $20 and very large.

5 stars all around! We were visiting Charleston and I accidentally made a reservation here thinking it was a different restaurant but we are SO glad I did. The server Scot was OUTSTANDING. He brought a wine that perfectly matched our meals. Even though it was packed (we picked up the last available reservation of 8:15pm) he took time to explain the appetizers and dishes. The food and desserts were Amazing. They put the rest of the restaurants we visited to shame. Well worth the prices.

Lucca lived up to my hopes! I've been wanting to visit for years now and finally find the occasion to make it happen. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and professional. The space is elegant and warm. My partner and I had one of the best meals I've enjoyed in CHS in some time! Overall, it felt reassuring that one of the original gourmet restaurants in town is still pleasing diners.

Great service. Very small and intimate dining area. I had the blue crab pasta entree and it was fantastic. The wine recommendations from our server were perfect for the occasion, and complimentary to the food.

Met my best friend from college (long ago) and wife from a Saturday night dinner. A great meal and very good service. The wine list was all Italian wines, but with the help of our waiter we found a great wine at the price I wanted to pay.
I would return in an instant. An excellent meal and fair value for the food and service.

Romantic, cozy, and unbelievably delicious food. We were staying in an Air B&B within walking distance, so our evening was delightful. Staff are very courteous. I had the crab Tagliolini and savored every bite. Highly recommend.

This is the best Italian I have experienced in Charleston. Our waiter Jonathan was amazing. Recited everything off their daily changing menu. Can't say enough good things about him. The food was light Italian fare using all fresh ingredients and impeccable. Can't go wrong here, five stars all the way.

Outstanding meal, wine list, and service in a cozy store front away from the usual tourist traps. We were very lucky to find this place. If we lived in Charleston, we'd eat here every week. BTW, Jonathon the waiter is the *Tops*.

I dined with my wife and adult sons at Trattoria Lucca recently and had an awesome experience. For starters it was fun to find a great restaurant hidden in a residential neighborhood as opposed to driving around for half an hour looking to park on King Street. The patrons seemed to be a nice mix of locals, like ourselves and some tourists--like the people next to us. Scott and Seth did a great job serving us and the food was as excellent as the reviews I have heard about. It isn't easy finding great Italian food in the Low Country. Trattoria Lucca is a place everyone should experience. I can't wait to get back.

Excellent authentic Italian food in a quiet, neighborhood setting. No tourists! Outstanding waitstaff, entertaining, and very helpful. We have been here several times and the food is universally great, also good Italian wine selections.

Our joke was who from NJ goes to Charlestown for Italian food..the joke was on us. This was a fabulous dinner, the octopus was unique and tender in sauce like grandmas, the pasta and crab was so delicate and the trio of chocolate is a must. Definitely going back on our next visit
