Edit: The manager apologized and refunded our late checkout fee.

We had a great time at a beautiful hotel, but a miscommunication about checkout put a damper on our time. I tried to book a late checkout online but never got a confirmation email. So, I called. The concierge said he would put a note on our booking and that we should ask when we checked in. Upon check in, the concierge said we could have a 1PM checkout with no fee and if we called on our last morning, we could likely stay even later.
I called this morning around noon. They informed me that I had been checked out of my room 45 minutes ago. They insisted I must have done it on the app (I don’t have the app) and that my keys are now inactive (they still worked). They also insisted that there’s “no way they would have allowed a 1PM checkout” since the latest free checkout they offer for Marriott basic members is noon.

This was all very confusing. I asked if I could call back, but they said it would probably be best to just pay $50 for a 2PM checkout since we would already have to pay $25 to check out at 1PM as anticipated. We indeed checked out around 2PM and paid the extra unexpected $50 charge.

The rooms are nice, the beds were very comfortable and clean, and the amenities were plentiful! Nice place! We were able to upgrade to a room on the river side, which was a much nicer view than the golf course. Having to ride the ferry over the river to get to downtown Savannah may not be ideal for many people, but we were here for something on this side, so it wasn't a problem!

Just stayed for St Paddy’s. We had a great stay, staff is top notch. Valets and bellmen were extremely helpful and courteous. Great location, 6 year old loves riding the ferry over. Probably my 12th time to Savannah and we usually stay in a bed and breakfast but with the little one this was a great stay and we really enjoyed the pool area. This was our first time looking at Savannah from the other side of the river which was really neat. We travel to Savannah regularly and this will be one of our favorites now.

Absolutely 💯. Great location, great views. Though on other side of river but are frequent free ferries to downtown takes less than 5 minutes.

Great staff and hospitality at its best. Valet didn't allow me to take my stuff myself but assisted in pulling the luggage trolley to room. Wow ! 👌

Hot outdoor pool is amazing. Real hot and did feel the Chill even though it was around 45F.

We didn't dine in here as we are vegetarian and was not worth so we took a ferry on other side for brunch.

Fantastic hotel. Excellent service. The amenities are top-notch!

I recommend the golf course view, the sun won't wake you up as early! ... un I ess you're into that... than by all means get the city view.

Great hotel... I will stay here again!

I Absolutely love that it sits on an island right across from River Street. I would recommend the river view with the balcony. Lovely pool and courtyard. Plus, the ferry takes you across the river!!! Yay!! Great hotel overall.

Anytime my husband and I visit Savannah we ONLY STAY AT THE WESTIN! I love love love this resort the rooms are always super clean and the staff has great customer service. The pool is always open and the bar is top-tier. We usually always extend our stay because we never want to leave lol. I’ll always continue to stay at this resort because I’ve never been disappointed from the service to the staff everything is great. Beautiful views of the river as well. It’s also a safe location and has a free ferry to take u across the river every hour or twice an hour.

Our family stayed for two nights using Bonvoy points. We booked a normal room, but upon checking in the front desk upgraded us to a river/city view on the 7th floor. She engaged with our children and put us down for late checkout (I have Bonvoy Gold status so it was free), but the fact that she just took these actions was appreciated. With only being there for two days we weren't able to take advantage of the bikes, golf, spa, tennis or disc golf. The pool was pretty warm and the pool area was beautiful. The kids absolutely loved it. We got food and drink from the restaurant on the main floor and were happy with everything both the charcuterie and chicken wings. The drink prices are what you'd expect from a nice resort.

One of the main selling points for our family was the water taxi. It runs every 20-30 minutes and takes you to a couple different locations across the river in the downtown area. Was so nice not to have to drive and park in the city. We would definitely go back!!

I love the Westin! The staff is awesome! The valet is amazing! The rooms are okay, nice and clean for the most part, just smaller than I am used to in a luxury hotel, if you were to compare it to the JW rooms the room are a step down in the luxury aspect. They have great views from the rooms overlooking the Savannah River and that's a super plus for me. They offer a ferry ⛴ across the river to enjoy shopping and other activities. This hotel offers excellent hot tubs and large pools. Family Activities are also offered. I always enjoy my stay at the Westin!

Upon arriving our first impression of the valet greeters wete amazing! They greeted us with a smile it felt like home. They were also very attentive throughout our entire stay. They recommended a barbershop and great food places. The hotel room was in good condition. The shower and water pressure was on point. We enjoyed being able to ride on the free ferry to the downtown area at our leisure. Also the smore kits by the firepit and pool at night. I was able to enjoy a hot chocolate and stop by the bar to spice it up a bit with some Baileys Irish Cream! All around good experience for us. Would recommend for sure and we'll be back.

Yes, there is construction going on around the hotel but this in no way disturbed our experience.

This is the best hotel in Savannah on New Years Eve. The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and modern and comfortable. The location is unbeatable, with a view of the NYE fireworks that is hard to beat. My kids loved the free s’mores in their own personal fire outside. Will definitely go again.

Our clients celebrated Valentines weekend and the experience here was amazing! Great location, the rooms were perfect. As Savannah Romance Concierges we were excited to be apart of this beautiful weekend.

My room was spacious and clean with a nice view of the island rather than the riverfront, which I'm sure is beautiful. I needed a microwave, which was placed in the room bedore I got there. They understood my needs and took care of them so quickly! From the porter to the front desk staff to the activities director to the restaurant staff, everyone was exceptional at making me feel welcome!

The Aqua Star restaurant had tasty menu options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Their staff were attentive and efficient. The Morning Star had a nice variety of quick breakfast options as well.

I needed help printing material, and the front desk team worked with me to get it taken care of. They were all patient and professional.

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. I visited in February, and it was chilly, so I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy the pool, but it looks amazing. They have s'more kits you can oick up at the front desk and make at the fire pits surrounding the pool area. There were nightly family activities in the lobby, like crafts, and bingo for prizes.

The parking options in the garage were convenient, but the cost to self park $22/day or valet park $35/day felt excessive, especially since the condition of the parking area seemed run down. Hopefully, this will improve along with the construction to expand the convention center.

The ferries to downtown Savannah ran every 30 minutes, so you need to plan accordingly. I loved being adjacent to the convention center because I was attending a trade show and conference there.

I'd definitely like to bring my family back during the warmer months!

We had some issues with are stay for sure. Mostly maintenence issues and room preparations by house keeping.
That said, all issues where resolved by our experience expert and over all a great stay. We love ❤ our Marriott trips. I really can not wait to stay again and this time will be the recently renovated "ELECTRIC PLANT" hotel with the Kessler exhibits.

But I love my ferry rides and fantastic mornings at the Club house to get my workout and spa steam, suana time. Not a golfer but that's ok. Because the spa is fantastic, off season is kind of quite but also feels like the place is to myself. Take the bus ride to and from and the walk is enjoyable and in the fall a brisk experience.
Upon my return to the hotel I get in the heated whirlpool and stretch 🤪 then for the refreshing chill palm shower 🚿 😌 and some of my Wim Hof ice bath experiences along with a sea air breathing cycle. Make for a great day by sunrise 🌅 since the gym is open at 5am.

And you can catch the service tug ride for breakfast walk on the board walk and a wonderful breakfast at #Huey's.

We loved our stay here. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. Their cookie and tea in the afternoon was a plus because it made my daughters so happy. Their location is perfect for us with the ferry to the riverfront. It’s so convenient just to take the ferry so we didn’t have to deal with driving and finding parking. It’s a very relaxing trip. We definitely will stay here again when we’re in Savannah.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Such a beautiful hotel with stunning views. Veronica at the front desk was very helpful and sweet she upgraded us to a River view room for our Anniversary trip. It’s the little things like this that make the stay memorable. Our housekeeper was very nice and took care of us as well. The ferry shuttle is helpful when it actually runs on schedule. (If you do take the last shuttle just know those two workers stop it from The Westin to the Hyatt at 9:30p not 9:50p like stated on the printed schedule) Anyways Didn’t hate anything about our stay and will return with the kids very soon!!

Highly recommend this resort. Pool is very nice, the hotel provides popcorn, and arts and crafts for kids, s’mores, movie nights outside, tea and cookies… the list goes on!You will not be disappointed with your time here!

Great hotel! We really enjoyed our stay here. There is a ferry service that is free that will take you back and forth to River Street. The pool is heated and is very nice, also a nice large hot tub and fire pit. Rooms are large and no view is a bad view, however, I highly recommend a river view to watch the ships. Staff was friendly and everything was clean. The only negative is the Starbucks downstairs is also the market and it closes around 1pm or 2pm. This means if you need a bag of chips after a night of fun out on river street, be sure to buy it before you get back to the hotel.

The ferry across the river was great and allowed access to anywhere without the need for a car. The hotel is gorgeous, has wonderful customer service, and delicious, healthy food options. One thing I wish it had was in-hotel gym, but going across the street to workout and to attend the spa was okay. The road is very dark at night and early morning though. Needs better lighting, but felt safe.

Michelle checked us in explaining all the wonderful Westin benefits in detail. Can’t beat this location on the river with really easy access by ferry ⛴ to the Savannah riverfront for dining and shopping. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a great view of Downtown Savannah 😊

My wife and I really enjoyed Savannah, but we're not huge partiers. It turns out that staying across the river is kind of a nice detachment for when we're "done." We went on all the tours and ate at all the restaurants, but when people went crazy we retreated to this gorgeous resort. The fun things like s'mores every evening, a beautiful pool and jacuzzi, and the spa and clubhouse that we didn't even go to yet were appealing. We loved the water taxi to and from the
Savannah waterfront, but it took a little studying to get it down. Once we did, super convenient and free! I also used their shuttle twice once the water taxi shut down. That too was free though their drivers appreciate a tip. All the benefits of Savannah, without any of the detriments!
