Leopold's Ice Cream

Deliciously rich ice cream. Servers are great, but It's a shame they haven't figured out how to process customers faster. Queue averages 20 to 40 minutes, day or night. Trust me, I tried going several times on the same day; granted, it was a weekend, but it's not like they couldn't prepare for the expected flow.

Welp, this place is pretty great. Come prepared to stand in line! If you are backed up to the theater, it's about a 20 minute wait. I'm on vacation and not in a hurry so I needed to see what this was all about and I was not disappointed!

They have tons of unique ice cream options including seasonal flavors, vegan, and dairy free. You can sample a flavor or two if you are undecided.

I went with the thin mint cookie sandwich. This thing was huge and amazing!

They do have free water and also another room to sit and eat your treat. Highly recommend - this place won't disappoint!

I did some research prior to arriving in Savannah, so Leopold’s was already on my itinerary. There was a very long line when we came but it moved moderately fast. Despite the line, the employees greeted us with a warm smile and provided exceptional customer service. I got the honey almond and cream and peanut butter chippy. I liked the old fashioned glass they put in the ice cream in. It’s like transporting you back in time before there were paper cups for ice cream. The honey almond and cream was a little sweet from the honey and a nice crunch from the roasted almonds. Texture was smooth and each bite made you crave for more. The peanut butter chippy is recommended if you love peanut butter. The flavor was very prominent and you get a lot of chocolate chips with each bite. Prices were very reasonable.

The best ice cream on the planet! Their apple pie is better than Grandmas. They even brought a treat out for my dog! There is always a long to get in, but it moves quickly and well worth the wait. We will definitely go back.

We came here for ice cream and absolutely loved it! The scoops are huge, and the interior is super well decorated and cozy with plenty of seating. We tried the cinnamon, tutti frutti, Savannah socialite, honey almond and cream, caramel swirl, and banana. The ice cream is excellent, and the service is great. We sampled other flavors like butter pecan, which was also very good. The waffle cone was also one of the best we’ve ever had. The servings are generous, the flavors are unique, and the ice cream is smooth and creamy. We would definitely come back again!

So many of my friends insisted that I come here and try the ice cream while I was in town. I was already pretty full from lunch, but I spotted the store and was suprized by the LONG line outside. 😅 But I hopped in line and saw on the menu outside they had a Rose flavored ice cream for February. I got a small cup and WOW!!! Absolutely delicious 😋 😍 I think about that ice cream every day now and wish i lived closer.

Oh, this ice cream is just great. It tastes so delicious that you want to order more flavors to try. The waffle cone was also delicious, and it tasted like it was freshly made (it probably was). When we came there was a line out of the door, but it moved pretty fast. I definitely recommend it.

Very crowded after dinner hours. We waited about 20 minutes around 8 pm. But worth the wait! I enjoyed two different flavors. The almond and honey flavor as well as the rum raisin.

Ice Cream in Savannah IS Leoplods!

With popularity comes people and lines.  Be prepared to wait anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. This is a great opportunity to meet locals and tourists alike with one thing in common with you, the love of ice cream!  Start a conversation,  you never know who you will meet.

While we were waiting, a kind gentleman from Leoplods passed out small cups of ice cold water, so thoughtful!

After ordering, there is a small dine in room with tables and chairs to enjoy your sweet treat.  We enjoyed seeing the movie posters and movie decor.

📍Pro Tip: You can skip the line, enter the dine in room, and walk directly back to the back room to find a stand-up freezer with prepackaged pint containers to purchase. Choose your favorite flavor from the freezer, ask politely for a spoon, and enjoy the same great Leoplods ice cream without the long line! You're welcome!

Cutest ice cream shop in town. Definitely a must have when visiting Savannah. Be prepared to wait in a line out the door but don’t worry it moves fast!

Definitely a highlight of our 5 days in Savannah. Had researched Leopold's on the net prior to our trip and knew we would stop there! This was a very pleasant day, and the line to wait for (counter) service extended to the front door. So, plan your visit accordingly, as I cannot imagine how busy they would be during peak times. BUT ... they had at least 5 attendants behind the counter waiting on and serving people at their tables, so I would say that from the moment we walked in, waited in line, got our treats and sat down was no more than 10 minutes. My wife had the Brownie Sundae, and I had a chocolate malt. Both were excellent, and we enjoyed them so much that we came back the following day.

My first time in Savannah and while walking around we came upon this loonnngggg line to this ice cream parlor. My son got in line and I sat at a table outside. The line was very long and I was wondering what is the hype, it’s ice cream. Well the butter pecan scoop I had was amazing. It has creaminess to it that was very smooth and delicious. It’s worth the wait.

It was worth the 20 minutes of wait time. I had the lemon sorbet and the chocolate chip ice cream. Good size portion and okay price. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Savannah!

Super smooth and creamy! The line will always be here, but it moves pretty fast. The staff is always so nice and friendly.

First time trying Leopold’s Ice Cream and it was great! Everyone here was super nice and we were able to try different flavors (really liked the red velvet but didn’t end up choosing that one). We ended up getting the chocolate chewies and cream and the lemon custard. I always love ice creams that have some sort of texture to it and the chocolate chewies and cream definitely hit that spot! 10/10 would recommend! Will definitely be trying out different flavors if/when I visit again in the future!

There truly is no one better then Leopold's. We stayed in Savannah, GA and were treated to the place buy some locals and WOW WEE! It's the best of the best. So good that one we returned to Los Angeles we served up an order to be shipped home. They put the containers under and between dry ice so it arrives fresh and frozen. Well worth the money. Thank you so, so much!

Not knowing a thing about Leopold's ice cream on our recent trip to Savannah, we fortunately stumbled across this awesome ice cream shop and really are glad we did. When we walked up there was a line that extended out of the front door. Don't let that stop you from trying them out....they are very quick and we waited less than 5 minutes until we were at the counter and ordering. The staff is cheerful, helpful, and patient with us tourists. The ice cream itself is great. The texture is velvety smooth and so tasty, not too sweet. We were able to get a table in the dining room and enjoyed the old school ice cream/soda shop vibe. If we are ever in Savannah again, we will be stopping by at least a couple of times.

Visited for an afternoon treat with an out of town visitor. Always have new flavors to try so you can be bored!! I tried Rose Petal flavor this time and it was very delicious 😋. Not tooooo sweet and very subtle rose flavor.

Leopoldo’s is a must stop when you are in Savannah! My husband and I ordered the Savannah Socialite flavor which was dark chocolate with pecans, and the coffee chocolate chip. Wow! It was so good. It was a cold day, but there was still a line, but it was worth the short wait. Staff are very friendly and we appreciated being able to grab a quick sweet treat while we were in the area!
