New Peking Chinese Restaurant

This restaurant is the only Chinese restaurant conveniently located handful of blocks north of Calhoun Street. I've only gotten pickups, but I live 1½ blocks away yet its dining area seems pleasant. They're consistently not open on Tuesdays.

My normal place was closed so we tried New Peking. It was further than I normally like to order (via DD), and the prices were high (mainly because of the mark up needed to cover DD fees) but the reviews on that site give it 4.7. I was fully expecting to not order again, but we were really happy with the quality. The egg rolls are huge. The chicken pieces for the sweet and sour and general tsos were big and meaty. The curry pad Thai and general tsos were both pleasantly spicy, but definitely more than many places. The sweet and sour felt like a smaller portion (but good quality) and I wish they allowed you to order more sauce, but we definitely will be ordering again.

I get take out with DD, from New Peking. I love their spring rolls and the sesame chicken. It's always fresh and the flavors are consistent.

I’m not sure why this place got so many negative reviews. The food was great, service could have been better, but we were there on Christmas Day around 5:30. Very busy with the pick up orders and walk-Ins. All our food was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The hot & sour soup along with the wonton egg drop soup were delicious. We ordered from the dinner special menu, the chicken in garlic sauce with fried rice and Mongolian beef with fried rice, both came with an egg roll and the soup. Great prices!!!!

We got takeout here on Thanksgiving! They were fast and the food was delicious!

Not sure what is up with all the bad reviews, but I absolutely loved my meal. The wonton soup was amazing, so was the orange chicken and lo mein. No complaints here and will be ordering again! Best to go Chinese I’ve had in Charleston so far.

I had this delivered late on a Wednesday night and everything was really good. I got the hibachi steak and it was excellent, with nice, tender cuts of steak. I was impressed, as it all tasted very fresh, it didn't have that leftover/cheap/oversauced taste you get from some Americanized Chinese places

Great customer service. The food was amazing. After the renovation, the place is beautiful.

They were super busy with orders, but our to go orders still came within less than 20 minutes at 11 pm! The food is phenomenal - by far the best Chinese food I've had in Charleston and, so far, my life. The honey wings were especially delicious, and the wontons! And the rice is amazing, too. Wontons were amazing, too. But the wings! You gotta go just for that! Can't wait to come back!

Ordered the simple Sweet & Sour Chicken combo and hibachi rice with a side of honey sauce. :)
Chicken had a good crunch and the egg rolls are always crispy too! I find most places to end up soggy with grease.

Really good food and very fair price. I originally was going to order on Grubhub but looked at the menu on the website and saved about $10 ordering directly from them. The only complaint is that there was no confirmation after placing my order and I ended up calling about 40 minutes later to make sure they got it. I would definitely order from here again.

I loved my chicken and broccoli entree. Cheapest on King and includes a drink. Going to college down here I always miss my Chinese spot back home, and this has been the closest in taste in all downtown.

3.7 is unfair here as it appears door dash issues are lowering the score. Am literally still chewing and it's exactly what I wanted. Western Chinese food made right. Superb.

They food always taste so fresh try they vegetables rices with eggs and onions delicious very delicious you don't miss the meat because it so delicious

It is exactly what you expect from Chinese takeout. Almost all the meals are less than 10 dollars and done in less than 10 minutes. If your review is less than 4 stars you deserve to be shot. You knew what you were getting into when you ordered, you needy perfectionist reprobate.

Try the Mongolian beef.

They have the BEST Chinese food in Charleston... I mean like ALL of Charleston! I got the pancit and it was fresh and well done and just delish! Then I got wonton soup and I was pleasantly surprised at how it was made. Not the typical wontons in broth but actually veggies and meats! Keep up the good work!

Food was delicious and hot and spice level was spot on! The best chinese I've had since I moved here from NY 5 years ago! Will definitely order again.

My favorite Chinese food restaurant in Charleston. Food made to order, always hot, and short waits. I recommend this to all my guest at my job. F like Frank is a customer for life.

I order from this place like 3x a week. Always consistent. Best General Tso’s chicken and the Lo Mein is always on point. Prices super reasonable. Customer for life.

The food here is good. I had hot sauce added to my wings before fried and also my house special noodles add 2 eggs Tasty.
