Chive Sea Bar and Lounge

I recently discovered Chives, and it has quickly become one of my favorite dining spots. I've been there about four times now, and each visit has been consistently excellent.

Now, let's dive into the crab cake. As a self-proclaimed crab lover, I had high expectations, and Chives did not disappoint. However, it's important to note that if you're expecting a crab-heavy dish, this might not be the one for you. Chives strikes the perfect balance between crab and stuffing, ensuring that neither overpowers the other. While it may not be the ideal choice for a seafood purist craving a crab-centric dish, it's undeniably delicious. The amount of crab is just right, adding a delightful sweetness and texture to each bite.

Moving on to the lamb chops, these are a carnivore's dream come true. The meat is unbelievably tender, practically melting in your mouth with each bite. And the flavor? It's simply out of this world. The seasoning is expertly applied, enhancing the natural richness of the lamb without overpowering it. It's a dish that leaves a lasting impression and keeps you coming back for more.

The atmosphere at Chives is also worth mentioning. Whether you're there for a casual meal or a special occasion, it sets the perfect place.

I also appreciate the attention to detail when it comes to allergies. As someone with nut allergies, I always appreciate when restaurants take extra care, and Chives definitely delivered on that front.

But it's not just about the food—it's the whole experience. The atmosphere at Chives is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for any occasion. And the staff? They're attentive, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a memorable dining experience.

Enjoyed a delightful dinner served by ‘tall’ Will. Started with She Crab soup which was loaded with crab and a nice touch of sherry. Excellent! Enjoyed their mango and walnut salad. It was super fresh, crisp, and loaded with everything from walnuts to tomatoes, grapes, strawberries, mixed greens and a little mango. While very good, it could have used more mango.

For main plates we ordered their Chive mussels and flounder with crab. The mussels were scrumptious, and the flounder perfectly cooked, flakey and delicious. The crab cake on top was very good. Their house red curry sauce complemented it perfectly.

We finished with the flan topped cheesecake. The cheesecake was very good, but the flan topping was hardly noticeable.

‘Tall’ Will provided impeccable service and great suggestions.

Tuna Ceviche 10/10 It’s so delicious that It makes no sense!
Sea bass: 10/10 a must try! A croissant of fish! Super buttery and flaky.
Hand down best seafood in town.

I''ve dined here a couple of times now - and this restaurant has not failed me. Impeccable service and outstanding food choices. I had lunch today, and enjoyed the Pan Seared Snapper Risotto ($18) which was topped with a red curry drizzle. Simply .... yum. Time was limited for me today, but so many other good choices here. Excited to return for lunch again this week, and maybe even dinner at the weekend with friends, because I know they too will enjoy this.

I went to this place last Tuesday by myself to have a quick dinner. I sat at the bar since they were a bit full around 6 p.m. (I didn't have a reservation). I love the atmosphere of the place. It's clean and chill. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and very accommodating, making me feel like I was hanging out with my friends. I had tuna ceviche for my appetizer and grouper with crab cake for my entree from their specials. Both were flavorful and fantastic! Love the presentation as well! I loved the Banana Boat cocktail too. It was smooth and relaxing drink. Everything was just lovely, from the service to the food.

We liked the atmosphere and service very much. Attention to details was great! We had carpaccio (not traditional, but very delicious), tuna tartar, octopus, and for the main course - duck breast and Chilean seabass. Duck breast was definitely a favorite!

We dined here for lunch and the food was outstanding! I ordered the shrimp avocado salad. It was beautifully presented with perfectly seasoned and cooked shrimp and a wonderful dressing! My husband ordered the she crab soup which also was outstanding! We would go back again!!

The she crab soup was very rich and tasty. Mango walnut salad and sea scallops were wonderful. Service was attentive and very quick. You will enjoy your dinner here!

Chive is definitely one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Savannah and has been for years. The food and service is consistently excellent, and the ambiance is top notch! It's a must every trip. My favorite is definitely the prawn risotto. The she-crab soup is in my top 3 best I've ever had. Other delicious items are the mussells and scallops. They don't take reservations so you're absolutely taking a chance at getting a seat. It's first come, first serve. You will not be disappointed. I can guarantee.

Angel provided great service. The food was delicious. Inside is cozy and comfortable, unfortunately it was a bit chilly tonight outside with our pup but he loved the attention from all the passers by.

Freaking fantastic! First timer. Our server Sean was awesome, made great recommendations and was extremely familiar with the menu. Ambiance was excellent. Food was super flavorful. I had grouper with crab topped in red curry sauce😋😋My hubby had the seared ahi tuna he said it was excellent!! Blood orange martini perfect for a non drinker like myself. If ever in Savannah again I would revisit for sure.

Parked on the street; after 8 no cost to park on weekends. Our check was $140 with tip.

Definitely a date night recommend! We had lamb chops and octopus for dinner there .the atmosphere the decor ,music ,drinks and the food was just simply amazing!

A must when in Savanah. The appetizer was steamed clams in white wine, butter, and garlic, followed by pan seared stiped bass over orzo and sautéed spinach with a red curry reduction. Absolutely excellent. Paired with a 2020 Russian River Valley Chardonnay. Service was attentive. Since I was on my own, I sat at the bar. Will be back!!!

Very nice ambience, very friendly and efficient staff. Good stiff drinks and awesome seafood. Came in for a late night snack, and even though it was almost closing time, we never felt rushed.

Absolutely beautiful atmosphere with very attentive staff, service and drinks were excellent. The food was delicious, though the texture of the fat on the marinated duck was a bit more akin to Rubber… but still absolutely brilliant! Easy to overlook with such great quality and flavor!!

Warm ambience, food was mostly good. My kids enjoyed too. Probably 4.3/5 but why not bump it up to 5 as we got a nice free glass of wine and really liked a couple of dish we had. Here are the breakdown of our orders:

Chive mussels: 3.5/5 mussels and bread were good, but a bit too sweet overall
Prawn risotto: 3/5 prawns cooked well but too salty, risotto decent but wish it had richer flavor
Calamari: 5/5 dipping sauces were on point
Branzino from special menu: 5/5 this was my fav
Oysters: 3.5/5 alright. Maybe my expectation was too high

Husband and I had a wonderful experience here at the Chive bar tonight. The atmosphere was so laid back and chill. We were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary ❤ I had the lamb chops with sauteed spinach the lamb chops were cooked to perfection and hubby had the blue crab stuffed jumbo chicken wing with a cucumber and carrot salad. The cocktails were really good.I would like to give a special thanks to our server Shawn who made our night extra special🙂 he was on point all night and so pleasant. Shawn was very knowledgeable of the menu and attentive. He made us smile all night, he recommended a cheese cake that was out of this world. Thanks Shawn we really enjoyed our meal and your service was outstanding. I highly recommend this establishment

It’s Sunday and “The Game” was being played tonight. We walked into Chive, were seated immediately, and completely taken care of. We sure were. Bella and the water person( sorry forgot name🙄) were friendly and informative. We shared fried shrimp, she crab soup,and steamed clams. All was fresh and delicious. We eat out at good restaurants a lot. Chive was as good as it gets!

I recently dined at Chive and was blown away by the exceptional experience. The appetizers were sensational, offering a diverse range of flavors that delighted my taste buds. The cocktails were refreshing and expertly crafted.

The service was outstanding, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff that made us feel like valued guests. Big shout out to Sebastian, Tun and Darzan. They provided excellent recommendations and ensured our glasses were always full.

The entrees were simply amazing. The seafood was cooked to perfection, with each dish showcasing the chef's expertise and passion. Mussels and She Crab soup where on another level
