Lower Hathaway Park & Boat Launch

November 18th, beautiful day to kayak the Washougal. The water is a bit low so make sure your boat is flat bottomed. The last of the fish are trying to make their way upstream and I saw lots of dead fish that made their final journey. Perfect weather. Floated down to Oak Park.

The park itself is beautiful. I saw a lot of families with their kids. There are picnic tables surrounded by trees which makes the place shady and cooler. There are also portable restrooms (toilets) which is convenient when you're out with little ones. The water is pretty calm so I considered it safe for kids. The only thing I didn't like about this place is that I saw many sketchy people in the parking lot consuming marijuana. Nothing personal but I just don't want my baby to be in that environment. Besides that the place is beautiful. We took our family pictures there.

A beautiful park along the Washougal River with a boat launch, playground for the kids, and bathrooms. A really nice spot to swim, tube, and kayak. The sandy beach and beautiful water made this my new favorite hidden gem.

Great little neighborhood park for kiddos to play and run. The boat launch is Handy and views are beautiful. I'm not hard to please when it comes to hanging out in nature by the river and trees. This park is walking distance from a friend's house. Lucky people! It has walking/hiking paths for all ages and loops close to 7 miles. It runs parallel to the Columbia River then runs through a nature preserve for bird watching. One day I saw so many turtles hanging out on logs, basking in the sun. And I love turtles so, what a treat. Go on a run, gentle walk whatever you like in this park. Relaxing & beautiful.

A very special park. Been going here for many years. The lower park has playground, boat ramp for smaller boats, such as drift boats, canoes, etc. Picnic areas & baseball fields, swimming area. The upper park has a bigger playground, picnic shelters, pickleball courts & community gardens. Very busy in the summer.
There is a plan in the future to connect Hathaway with another park, Schmid family park on the Washougal river with a trail.

This is a great place for having a picnic or bird watching. Bates Field is named after my grandfather Arles Bates. He took care of the park for 20 years. We used to come and help him when we were young. This is and always will be a special place to me and my family.

On the side of the tree there is a nest, in a cluster of branches, there is a baby bird sticking its head out for food! It's a nice place to walk around and explore the river and get away to...

A hidden little jewel. Alot of people tend to think the park begins acrrossed from the school but walk kitty corner down the street and you'll find river side access and a tennis court right above.

Nice quiet park by the water. Grill and tables as well as a playground and ball field. Kept nice and clean.

couple of baseball fields here, tables where you can also do a picnic, a boat ramp to launch your drift boat, a parking lot & public restrooms.

Beautiful. Great little beach and shallow enough to swim across this summer.

Great place to thank your kids...your dog...or just kick back and enjoy the view.

Great steelhead hole hear and you can float down to Camas
