Howard Johnson by Wyndham Beckley

Check-In was pleasant and rooms were clean & roomy. Location was close to a little bit of everything. Great place to stay. I'm old so the Howard Johnson name has been around... not that many left anymore that I see, but this place is a little gem.

05/06/24 We stayed one night (Sun-mon) we paid $71.00 (with taxes). This hotel is conveniently located just off I-77 in Beckly WV.

The room was clean and spacious, newly painted in a 70’s HoJo motif with brand new carpeting. The beds were clean and comfortable, although I could have used an extra blanket because my husband took advantage of the ice cold air conditioning.
The bathroom was very clean and provided ample towels and complimentary soap, shampoo and conditioner.
Amenities also provided were a small coffee pot with supplies, a refrigerator, microwave, and safe. The room was also nice and quiet even with quests staying in the next room.
The gentlemen at the front desk was courteous and helpful when we inquired about the many surrounding restaurants.

As frequent travelers up and down the east coast we have bookmarked this hotel as an outstanding value.

I have stayed here a few times. Stayed in the double queens room. They have 5 out of 55 rooms that allow smoking. There's really no places that allow smoking anymore. So I was happy. The rooms have always been clean and staff was polite and helpful. They have a free breakfast. I only had to pay 62 or somewhere around there for queen or king bed rooms. We had a coffee pot and coffee in the room. That's cheap with others charging 135 and up. It's not a ritzy place but it's affordable and has no problems. Thanks for letting us stay with you all!

Just spent a week here. Loved it! Clean, quiet, private, and great staff. Bathrooms are large and clean. Well stocked. Beds are comfy. Pillows are decent. Wifi works great. Rooms are open and not cramped. If you have small children or mobility issues, request the first floor. There's no elevator. The decor is smart and I loved having the charging lamps right beside the beds. There were multiple setting options too, even in the double which made it great! All the staff presented themselves very professional and kind. This facility wasn't built recently, but it is maintained, clean, and taken care of better than some newer properties I've stayed in. I'll definitely be back!

Had a great night stay. Wasn't our 1st trip to West Virginia but was our 1st stay in this hotel. Lady at front desk was super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend if you're in the area. Beds were super comfy, showers were great with excellent water pressure and lots of hot water. Didn't eat breakfast there so not sure about that. Everything else was good.

Everything was better than I expected nice place to stay close to very good restaurants.

We stayed in Beckley WV for 3 nights, a get a way to explore New River Gorge area. Room was clean, very spacious and a comfortable bed. Staff was friendly and helpful.

We gave this establishment a 5 star rating bases on it's staff. We had car troubles and we're stranded for 4 nights and 5 days. We got to the parking lot and the car completely died on us 6hrs away from home. David at the front desk was such a angel accommodating our family the night we walked in with no reservations. I was visibly upset not knowing what we were going to do, We have two kids under the age of 3 and I don't know what we would of done without the kindness he showed us by getting us into the last room that was available. The cleaning staff were wonderful as well and so friendly. They asked everyday how it was going and if the vehicle was fixed yet. They spoke to the kids in such a caring way with smiles to see them each day. They seemed genuinely happy to wish us a good morning and make sure we had everything we needed. There was a wonderful little pool the kids enjoyed. For the circumstances we were in this hotel made it as good as it could be for us with recommendations for anything and everything we needed. Thank you so much for our stay.

Stayed May 27-28 one night but was treated great had a complicated reservation with three rooms and a dog but got it done. Autumn was super nice and went out of her way to help. Thanks. Rooms was clean and no issues.

After the first two hotels we tried were out of vacancies we were desperate and not very hopeful. The man on the phone was polite and helpful. When we arrived check in was quick and east and the room was clean and comfortable. The carpet even looked new. Though the hotel was fairly booked up, the atmosphere was still calm and VERY quiet. Even being booked in the room right by the service desk, there was very little noise disturbance. While the breakfast left a little to be desired, it is worth noting we. Showed up 20 minutes before it was over.. Checking out this morning was easy and the staff was kind, friendly and grateful for our business. I would absolutely recommend to anyone.

I chose this room for it's pool and location, and of course it's price. I am traveling with my mother and 2 kids. Check-in was easy and quick. When I entered the hotel it smelled clean and looked clean. The lady at the desk was very nice. First entering our room it smelled clean. We had a non smoking room and it did not smell like it had been smoked in. The color scheme was a welcome surprise. Very vivid orange but it made the room look modern. Very clean room. Big bathroom. Great water pressure. Some toilet issues that I'll tell the front desk but nothing major. Lots of space.
The pool:. It needs to be updated or taken out. It's very very small and very old. The kids enjoyed it tho, and I did not feel it was unsafe or dirty. The breakfast was nice and simple, the kids enjoyed the coffee cakes.
All in all, this hotel was very very clean, the staff was amazing, and we felt safe staying here. We will stay again if we come back to Beckley.

My wife and I were actually satisfied because the room in the photo was the room we got. Comfortable beds clean rooms shower was more than great. The lady that checked us in I assumed was the manager and she was really welcoming. We will stay again and hope everything is the same. Breakfast could have been better but I enjoyed my frosted flakes

While traveling through we broke down in Beckley and ended up staying at this hotel. The lady was super friendly and bent over backwards to help us out as much as she could. Hotel is pet friendly and the rooms are clean. Will definately be back if I need a hotel in the area again.

Me and my boyfriend stay there very often for easier convince getting back and forth to work . The staff is always very nice! The rooms are always very clean and they clean the rooms and add towels, soap, trash bags etc. while gone from the hotel. When you walk in you always get a smile from the staff and can smell cleaning products from were they have cleaned. I would recommend this hotel too anyone! Great place and great prices!

Very good room for the price I paid. Service was good but they called my room at 10AM to see if I'd gone yet. I'd checked in late the night before and was trying to get all the sleep I possibly could. I had my Do Not Disturb sign on the door too. I may have helped those who book there in the future because I made it well known she irritated me. Otherwise, All Good.

We stayed on our way to Charleston, SC and then on our way back. We had our 1 year old and the room was a good size to fit the pack and play with room to spare. It was clean and the front desk was friendly. The pool is on the smaller size but it’s clean and we had it to ourselves when we got there. I’d stay again.

The worst place to rent a room, 2 faced people I've ever had to deal with, they all lie, they take up for one another, the Patels will steal the tips the GUESTS LEAVES FOR THE HOUSEKEEPERS, THE PATELS DONT PAY THE HOUSEKEEPERS FOR WHAT THEY WORKED EITHER, IF THEY THINK U WORKED TO much or to long on a day they won't pay u! This place/hotel is starting to be another smart stay, or super 8, the Patels don't care about cleanliness or don't want the housekeepers to clean the proper way! This is the other knock off of Patriot inn, or pagoda motel! They treat there employees like they are slave's, an talks to the employees like they aren't human beings, 🤬

I've stayed at many hotels due to business travel over the years and I have to give this hotel a lot of praise! The owner is very nice and professional, her staff is very friendly and helpful, and the room was very clean with plenty of towels. Great job!

Just off the highway. Surprisingly clean and nice given the very reasonable price here. Guy at the desk was just leaving as we checked in and he was super friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
