Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Beckley

We had a large group stay at this hotel and it was truly a great experience as a trip lead. Upon check in the staff had all of our room keys ready and kindly guided us to our rooms. We have a unique payment situation that many hotels get confused about but not this one! The gentleman working the front desk knew exactly what he needed to process the request. Breakfast was fresh and hot. While the hotel is in need of some updates to catch up to other Fairfield’s, it is a pleasant stay and the staff make it wonderful.

This is an older hotel. That being said, the service was awesome! I didn’t arrive until after midnight but unlike some hotels, they didn’t cancel me. My room was waiting and warm. I did have one small issue with the room (there was a slight draft) but they were quick to switch me to a better room. The staff at this hotel is what really sets them apart! I forgot the gentleman’s name who checked me in (it was 12:30am!!!), but he was friendly and attentive and made it a point to make sure I was well informed on the hotel’s amenities. The two women working the breakfast area were two of the most energetic people I’ve ever seen. Great spirits and they greeted everyone with a loud jubilant good morning. Mary for the manager when I checked out. AWESOME is the best word to describe Mary. She asked about my stay and offered helpful tips on a few local spots I was interested in visiting. She made sure to thank me for my patronage and wished me safe travels. I felt like I was leaving a family member’s home. I will definitely return to this hotel whenever my travels bring me this way again!

Nice room. The bathroom was super cute. Everything was clean and well maintained. The TV doesn't have a lot of channels but there is an option to log in to your Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime, etc. Then clear data with a click. Bed was comfy and the location is good, near restaurants and a gas station. The in room heater worked really well. Room also had a fridge and microwave. Definitely recommend.

This was my first trip to WV, I have stayed in many Marriott hotels, from Indiana to Alabama and cities in between. Fairfield inn & suites in Beckley was the best. Want to thank the check in staff, the night staff, all of you were very professional. Also thank the crews who cleaned are room. If I needed extra towels shampoo it was there. And my room was very clean upon arrival. Big thank you. The breakfast was excellent each morning, the crew that preps the food excellent service and choices of what was available to eat. Thank you. The maintenance staff work hard as well through out the day. The grounds were litter free trash cans were empty as well.The out door pool area was clean each morning. And plenty of pool towels available each day. To all the staff there in Beckley Fairfield in thank you for your customer service, and hard work.

The rooms are what you'd expect: clean, efficiently configured, comfortable and only a bit beat up.

Why the hotel deserves such high marks, though, is this: despite the large number of guests the presentation of the breakfast buffet is clean, well-organized and frequently replenished.

Though standard-issue cereals seem intended for children--they are brightly colored sugar--upon request raisin brand is available.

The hotel and the rooms were very clean, but basic. However, the service and staff were amazing. I called several times prior to my day of check-in, because we were originally traveling with a group of family. Each time I spoke with someone, they were very patient and friendly. They have a standard continental breakfast served from 6:30AM - 9:30 AM with fruit, oatmeal, cereal, eggs, turkey sausage, bagels and a waffle maker. This will be my go-to hotel when visiting my soon-to-be-born Grandson in Beckley.

The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and are very knowledgeable about attractions and restaurants in the area! Rooms are clean and the full breakfast was well stocked. Great location with easy access to the interstate and a lot of restaurants to choose from. Front desk had a variety of menus from.lical restaurants for their guests to look at.
Was impressed that they are pet-friendly! Will definitely stay again when we are in the area.

The front desk staff was very helpful and accommodating to our needs. All the staff we ran into on Christmas morning was very friendly. The breakfast was good and everything was fresh. The common areas (front desk, breakfast area, etc) were all clean and neat. Our beds were comfortable and clean. The only thing that looked like it needed a little refreshing was our bathroom. While clean it was definitely showing it's age. We are very appreciative of everyone that helped make our stay as comfortable as possible.

The parking lot was large with good sized spots. The rooms were quite and had quiet close doors. The breakfast had a good selection. The staff was friendly. Everything was clean and as we expected. It is an older hotel but completely worth the price.

Rooms are well kept and staff is pleasant. Pool is small. A/C works great and beds are very comfy. Microwave and fridge in room is a nice touch. Elevator is dumb...but all in consideration it was a good stop. Not a vacation destination, but great for passing through.

A nice hotel we have stayed at a few times while traveling. It is an older building and lacking some of the more modern amenities like contact free check-in / out and mobile key access. The people are polite, happy, and helpful and our stays have always been good.

Everything was super clean considering the current pandemic. Tammie & Keslie, the breakfast attendant was a ray of sunshine in the morning and worked very hard to get our hot breakfast order prepared. We are traveling with two dogs and we found a somewhat well lit grass area toward the back parking lot for the dogs to use the restroom. There is also a utility shed that has a motion sensor control light. The majority of the building’s landscape is surrounded by smooth round stones, very little grass. The large grass area at the back of the property has tall brush toward the back which, in the dark, appears to drop off the hillside. If your dogs really like to chase wildlife scents, have a tight hold on your leashes. We were in room 118, ground floor and had two easy access doors to get our pups out quickly for restroom breaks. The parking lot was cleared of snow and ice. If the weather was poorer, I would be nervous walking across two parking lots to get to the grass area. There is a “designated dog” area on the side of the building. When we checked in, no one even mentioned it even though we paid a pet fee. There is a dog waste station supplied with bags. They need to place another dog waste station at the back of the property. On our way home, we returned to this hotel. This time we were on the 3rd floor. The parking lot is icy, post the snow storm the east coast had over Christmas Eve. Overall, the stay was equally as satisfying. We would highly recommend this hotel to families traveling with pets!

Aril 2021 - We are here again headed to visit family. Just like last time awesome stay! Kasey breakfast attendant was hardworking trying to serve everyone in a timely fashion on short staffing. This is an amazing hotel. They seem worried that with it being an older hotel that it is a deterrent, but to us, this building is solid and quiet unlike newer hotels have no sound proofing. You cannot hear not feel people walking down the hall. I pray they don’t tear it down and rebuild. I like it the way it is. They are working on bringing back more breakfast options. Bagels, fresh fruit, and cereal has been added since Christmas to the hot breakfast service. Covid precautions still in place! The next time we come back through, I will be pulling our new RV. Although the parking is trailer friendly, some of the turns are very tight for an inexperienced person towing. I took some pictures of the back parking lot. Experienced tower’s will have no problem. Some concrete medians are definitely worn down.

I was pleasantly surprised. This is a beautiful place to stay! It has been completely updated with beautiful new colors. This is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. We also had two Bichon pups with us and they were welcomed. We had so much trouble finding a motel where they weren't being ridiculous about having a pet. Our puppies were welcome there. Beautiful mountain views too. Wonderful breakfast! Comfy bed! We will be back!!! Ask for a room facing the mountain. 10/27/2013

We were stuck in Beckley WV due to a snow storm. We walked in without a reservation and stayed in a suite. Room slept six comfortably. Clean rooms and lobby. Front desk staff was very professional and nice. Breakfast was good and the dining area was clean. Housekeeping staff was extremely courteous. Staff was helpful with recommendations for retail, and restaurants nearby. Overall experience was great.

Nice, friendly staff. Clean rooms and a great healthy breakfast - Not just a bunch of high carb options. Fresh fruit and yogurt and toppings. Good coffee. (That’s a bonus!)

Clean and doing their best despite current events. Front desk (Mike) and the breakfast attendant were both very nice and informative!
My only suggestion is for better signage letting guests know that there is an elevator down at the far end of the hall. It is surprisingly easy to miss.

Parking was easy, room was very nice, all the hotel workers were very nice. You may want to pay attention which light you turn on. I turned on Pikeview as I didn't know the lane I was in turned into a turn only, I was hoping to find a back way from there to the hotel, but there is not. Still an awesome place to stay though.

Excellent stay as always with Marriott. I have dogs so its hard to find a good hotel sometimes. The Beckley store has all the pet friendly rooms on the bottom floor near the back of the hotel, there is a very large grass area for walking and they have the poo bag stand there for the cleanup. The breakfast was nice, actual eggs and sausage not just continental.

Thank you so much for helping us when country inn across the highway refused our family at 1am. This hotel is a life saver and a awesome place to stay. The country inn would not accept our reservations or cash because we did not have the hundreds of dollars in our bank account. Our cash works fine everywhere else!

I stayed on the 4th floor, and had a beautiful view facing the back of the hotel.

The bedding was very comfortable, and the pillows were nice and fluffy. The bathroom was a little cramped, but wasn't too terrible.

Staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating. There were sometimes fresh, warm cookies at the front desk too!

The breakfast selection was great! Hot foods were eggs, sausage or bacon, and waffles. There was also cereal, fruit, bagels, etc. Pretty much everything you could ever crave for breakfast, they had it there!

The hotel is also conveniently located next to Outback, Applebees, and McDonalds, which made getting food very easy.

A couple of minor problems:
1. The bottom left dryer at the laundry room doesn't work, so you end up wasting your money while your clothes stay wet. I reported this to the staff, so hopefully they will have it fixed.

2. The freezer part of the mini-fridge doesn't get cold enough to freeze ice cream, so if you purchase ice cream pints from the front desk like I did you'll have to eat all of it or it will just melt in the freezer.

Overall, I really enjoyed my 2 week stay and I would come back to this hotel if I'm ever in Beckley again.
